I have been doing quests with Captain Nealith for many years, in both of his locations, past and present. For the last three days, when I visit his usual spot at /loc 647 -2665, he hasn't been there. All the other guards are still there, just not Nealith. Perhaps he has just always been up when I went to see him, but I have never found him to be missing like this before. I would like to turn in my canines, but I have no idea what happened to him; does he despawn for days at a time? How dare he make me worry like this! =p

he is up on this date in the spot your locs indicate.... just before entering the new area on a flat wall that splits your path to the inner valley....

Yellow Whip - Longbow Quest?
# Oct 02 2001 at 9:14 PM Rating: Decent
I believe the Captain has another quest going, but it's like pulling teeth (hahahahah) to find out anything about it. Here's what I know for sure. If you say anything to this guy at all about his brother, he gets very sad and talks about how he's been missing, all they found in his tent (or bed, or something) was dog hair, and they think he's been kidnapped or something.

Now. If you happen across a mob in Dreadlands called a Wulfware Lonewolf, and kill him, sometimes you'll receive a Yellow Whip. When identified by spell it says "A Flaxen Cord".

There's been some speculation that the cord is connected to the good Captain, that the Wulfware Lonewolf is actually his cursed brother, and that somewhere at the end of a quest shrouded in complete mystery, is a prize called Amor's Longbow of Torpor, which looks to be an amazing bow.

I, however, have not figured anything out yet. Another message board area (namely the Wulfware Lonewolf page) has a post that details this quest. However, when put to the test, it hasn't worked for me at all. The gist of it is this: Say to Captain "I have slain your brother." He attacks you, but only briefly. Then he asks for a Yellow Whip for proof. If you give it to him, you get the quest. If not, or you leave the area, he commences his attack.

Supposedly he gives you an item in trade for the Yellow Whip. You take this item back to the Dreadlands with a chanter buddy. The chanter buddy charms a Ravishing Drolvarg. You give the Rav this item, and the Rav gives you another item. You now have to charm Rav #2, and give him this item. He gives you a second item in trade. Finally, charm a third Rav and give him this item, and you get the item you need to return to the Captain.

Return it to the Captain, and >>voila<<. You get a nice longbow. A killer longbow.

This is either

a) a very easy quest for a very nice bow -or-
b) complete crap

And I for one would like to know which.

Any further information would rule. Feel free to send it to my e-mail address, or post it here (which would be the nice thing to do). BowmanKCMO@Yahoo.com

Well, I said "I have slain your brother"... nothing. I gave him the whip... nothing - gave it back.

Raising faction with Captain Nealith ..
# Jul 22 2001 at 8:47 PM Rating: Default
Does he have his own faction that can only be corrected by handing in canines, or does he also follow the general Fironia Vie faction?

How many gobos...
# Sep 13 2000 at 1:35 PM Rating: Default
Would it take to get an Iksar Shammy from KOS to where he could hand in these teeth? I am at level 35 now, and five levels ago I was still KOS to wandering elf guards in FV. I have been primarily hunting for experience through my career, but now I think I will move to the mines (Nurga and Droga) where gobos are plentiful to work on this faction. Any idea how many it would take if I haven't killed any FV residents except those blasted Drachnid?

I'm assuming it is about as hard as getting a good race into cabilis, which takes forever. I've been fighting only goblins and sarnaks from 30-34 and i'm still kos, so expect lots and lots of battles.

I did the bone quest to raise faction with cabilis and i passed in like 250 stacks of them and am still KOS to everyone but the guards so i would assume it takes quite awhile.

FYI, took me 3000 gobs (I parsed the log file) to become non-KOS with my gnome necro.
