Dozekar drops Tears required for the quests originating in the Temple of Veeshan. I think his name is probably in reference to his fellow dragons requiring that you kill him...

After an obscene number of kills, this is the closest I can estimate it:

After server rest: 12h +/- 12 hours

After kill: 5 days and 12 hours +/- 12 hours

I solo'd Doz today with the exception of a few buffs left over from last nights raid. Ranger level 80, 1530 or so aa's, max defensive, and many offensive aa's also. About 18.5 k hp and 3149 or so AC at the start of the fight, but I didn't notice what they were at the end. C8 faded as I was fighting my way in and was not present on engaging Doz. I had Temerity at the start of the fight, but not the end of the fight. Same with Spirtual Enlightenment. I parked the babies outside the room. I opened the door and was immediately summoned. I debuffed Doz, used Warders Wrath with the Demi plane 10% extension, Auspice of the Hunter, Rank IX, epic cliky a few times, three of the new Distillate of Celestial Healing XIII, and about 1/3 of my mana. I didn't use any clarity or haste pots, but did use my Dark Cloak of the Sky for spell haste. I didn't use mana for any damage spells, just to keep me healed and dispells. I cliked a few things as the fight went on to keep buffs up. I also had tribute and group leadership AA's: Health and Offensive Enhancements both at level one. It was a challenging fight. I got concerned about repops in the hallway outside of Doz's room towards the end of the fight, and moved the babies in. Even the necro with about 250 average resists started taking damage, so I moved them both out to the hall after healing the one who needed it the most. They remained safe out in the hall. It was during this part I almost died, but recovered for the win. Doz dropped three tears (including the one I wanted), and dragon meat. The room was a safe place to keep the babies for the rest of the fight. I then tried pulling the two nameds found directly to the east of Doz, and fighting outside of Doz's room but got an add, and irritating summoning between the three, so decided to bail out while I was ahead, and the wiz got me to the succor spot near zone in while I was in the hall and the wiz was in Doz's room. Overall the fight was ? 15 minutes long, and challenging. I will need to recheck his quests and see if I really need to engage him again. Maybe I can just get by with the other nameds. But the idea of a room with no pops and no roamers makes me think he will be the first named the next time. Maybe I will pull to Doz's room to avoid adds also.

Took him down 80 Bard/76 Druid.
Was a about a 10 minute fight but pretty much straight up fight.
I thought this fight was tougher than both Klandicar and Sontalak, which I also duo'd on my way in.

The spawn time for Doz is less than 7 days. We've been killing him every monday morning at the sametime, and this time he was not up. This tells me that his spawn time is less than 7 days, perhaps 5 or 6.

I am thinking that it is 5 days. I have been killing him same time every Saturday and I noticed he was not up Friday (which was as expected) but he wasn't up Saturday either...therefore I am coming up with 5 days.

I will be ckecking everyday now to see if I can confirm that. I still need a couple of Tears to complete my alts quests.

4 boxed Dozer, eashan and ikitar. Dozer dropped platinum, ruby and white tears. Cleric didnt leave almost full mana whole fight...was REALLLY easy, just long (took 20 min) 70 war, 70 cleric, 66 bard, 70 shaman. Eashan dropped mask and fist, ikitar dropped cloak and stinger. Will post about other NtoV kills..ran out of time but planning on doing the Lords, and the triplets when i get some time.
4boxed
# Apr 20 2005 at 6:39 PM Rating: Decent
4 boxed him a couple nights ago w/ 70 chanty, 69 rogue, 65 warrior, 67 cleric.
This was my 5th attempt at the ******* and I'd learned a few things on the previous 4 fights.

First, Don't back him into the corner if you have more than 1 melee. Why? Riposte for one, backstabs for another if you have any rogues.
I just kept the warrior and rogue switching sides from time to time as I ran doze up and down the side wall going from entrance to pit. I'd just cleared the wurms so I knew I was good on repops, but even if they are up, you can still run doze along the wall as long as you are DAMN careful not to get too close to the pit.
An interesting point is that when you hit a mob in melee, he gets pushed back in the direction you are facing, but from HIS point of origin. What does this mean? It means you can be fighting on his right corner (so that you can't see him since he's to your left, but you can still techically hit him), be facing angled right, and push him to the RIGHT. Your position makes no difference to which way he gets pushed. Only the direction you are facing has an effect on which way he goes.

Second, Slow. Slow alot. Cripple. Cripple alot.
Fortunately, I have the slow stick so it was easy to keep him slowed even without a shammy (mind you, he would resist about 10 slows in a row, which would have hurt if I didn't have the clicky).
Cripple is nice since it stops him from tripling all the damn time. My warrior is lv65 with all defensive AAs except hps, 7khp and 1400ac (yes, he has crappy gear). Even with that I was getting hit for 200-450 usually.

Third, conserve the cleric's mana!
The cleric is lv 67 with 8k mana pool and max ft (mix of time/qvic gear). I had him hide against the wall on the other side of the fork at entrance. He was able to reach everyone even with group heals like that.
I could keep warrior up fine with CH at 65%, and since the cleric wasn't getting hit by dispel, I had armor of the zealot and clairvoyance the whole fight (about 25 mins), and didn't even go below 90% mana until I got sloppy at the end, finishing fight at 65%.
I wasn't thinking much, and did a bunch of HoT spells on the rogue when she got low on health (yes, bloody stupid since it would get dispelled by the AOE, wasting 700 mana).
After that, I would just use divine arbitration right after the CH went off on warrior to keep the rogue's health up, with the occasional spot heal in between. If the rogue weren't there, I could have kept at 100% mana forever.

This could easily be 3-boxed, but I'm too impatient and would rather not have an hour long fight due to lack of dps.

Oh, also I have the clicky haste pants, which I just kept spamming on the 2 melees. That did wonders to the dps.

I tried taking down Doze tonight with no luck.

Group was 67 SHD SHM CLR ENC DRU ROG.

I never once got slow to land on him in about 12 attempts. I started with Tash, Malos, and Malicious Decay. Then chain-casted Forlorn Deeds, Cloud of Grummus and Turgur's Insects. Never once got a slow to land in those 12 attempts (average casting of slow was about 15 times per fight before I had to Succor to med up and try again).

Bad luck?

Noob mistake but a nice reminder:

For a lot of dragons, you have to be within melee range for spells to work. Once I got the Shaman and Enchanter in Melee range, slows landed easily. Dropped 4 tears (2 Ruby, Poison, Black).

For Fun

For those of you that want to kill DOZER and Kill him quickly and easily this is how you do it.

First I recomend 2 groups medium to semi high levels and having a BARD in the main group. Although it isn't nesscary.

Okies First get yerself a Monk,SK, or PALLY yes I said pally lol have them go to edge of steps and pull yer guardians. Then WAIT for approximately 3-5 mins on TWO roamers that like to pass through the bottom of the pit. Pull each Roamer from the top steps and pull him to the right side have the rest the Raid on the left side which is where the HEALERS stay the whole time!! Now once romaers and guardians are pulled and killed just rinse and repeat. Helaers are on the left sie to keep from being hit from AE's. Same can be done with your nukers.

Now time for Dozer. K well DOZER no longer strips the first 4 buffs he strips randomly now. I still put 4 junk buffs on first then the rest of my goodies as well as carry a clickie effect item.

K once buffed up send your puller down the steps into dozers romm and begin to pull em out. Now here is the smart part. ( Thought because puller went down the steps and rest raid is up top he was screwed didn't ya?) Just have yer Mage CoTH yer puller! Then dozer should be out in the main fire pit and easy enough for the MT to tag him for aggro. Have the MT tag em n bag em and take him to spot X and gain suffiecient aggro. Then call for the assist and take him down.

Few key thing bout dozer. One slow em with grummus first and have yer chanter land tash and it should be a cake walk. two have yer pallies doing group heals. and lastly enjoy the ride.

Long fight
# Dec 30 2004 at 1:04 PM Rating: Decent
Killed him last night with 69 war (me), 65 cleric (me), 68 pal, 68 druid, 70 mage, 68 necro, and a 64 shaman being boxed for slows.

Fight took a little over 10min. Once slowed he hits for nothing. Since he dispells random slots I tanked him unbuffed with 7100hp and 1550ac. He hit for minimum mostly (218) and never once landed a max hit (900) on me during the whole fight. 1 cleric was enough to keep me up for the whole fight.

Getting slow to land was the hard part as we wiped twice before because slow wouldn't land and he ate me up pretty quick. Cripple helps as well.
RE: Long fight
# Jan 25 2005 at 2:34 PM Rating: Decent
Ok killed him again, but it was even easier this time around. Levels help out quit a bit. Since he dispells I didn't bother with any buffs.

Me (70 warrior, 7640hp, 1640 ac unbuffed), my 66 cleric (4530 mana pool which isn't much), and a 66 rogue I was boxing. Also had a 70 ranger who was boxing a 65 shammy. Fight took 21:30, had to reslow Doze 3 times, but with Malo he didn't resist much. Cleric was at 50m when Doze died.

Guardians of Veeshan... you are unable to up your faction with them no matter what you kill, you will always be KOS to him and the entire East wing and North wing.

This post is incorrect. Dozekar IS NOT on the claws of veeshan or guardians of veeshan faction. So when you kill him he drops no faction.

# Oct 11 2004 at 2:18 PM Rating: Decent
Been 2 months since my last post. After some practice, able to take him down with a cleric, warrior, shaman, and enchanter. Hell of a long fight, but he's a baby once you learn the encounter.

I do have to say though, I've killed him 8 times, and he has dropped everything BUT the ruby and emerald tears. (the only 2 I need). I don't know if these 2 are the rarest of the bunch, but this guy is being a stingy ******* on Veeshan.

Lastly, he can drop as much as 4 tears and as low as 2 tears, various each time. Good luck to you.

No Way
# Sep 06 2004 at 3:17 AM Rating: Default
No way man, we did it with 8 people tonight, and cleric was oom at around 55%. Bring 2 clerics, I'd say at least 2 groups. He's very resistant to slow, and he aggro's you right when you walk in the door. For those that don't know, he's right past the first 2 guards when you enter HoT. Doesn't hit hard, but hits fast if not slowed. I'll try him again later this week.

Actually the former leader is no longer playing EQ. I know the person who bought his account. Not sure if they got the plat and items in bank, but I doubt it as they are still just using him for a bot.

So Mr. Mage and 2x cleric who wiped is just blowing BS about how "easy" this is with his little 3 or 4 man team. Come back after you've actually won a battle bud.

I've duoed Doze with myself (mage) boxing cleric and shaman, and a friend ( SK) boxing his cleric. Terribly easy with 2 clerics, just have to keep slow on. Fight was 45minutes or so maybe, guessing though, give or take the time it took to kill the pit first. We actually got him to 9% before we got 2 repops in the pit, which I fought off with my pet for a good ten minutes before before deaths were inevitable as slows wore. Fighting in his room, cornered, is likely more feasible to avoid repops, It's where I dou ( myself and a shaman bot) named drakes when Doze isnt up, as it's relatively add free if you know what you're doing. I guess I should add these are all very heavily Elementally equipped characters I play, just to put some perspective on the situation maybe. Could maybe be done with less, just take eons.
Anywho..

Repops right after server resets?

Has a 7 day respawn once killed?

Is that it or?
