You say, 'Hail, Hizaklom Trappleton'

Hizaklom Trappleton says, 'Well hey there, young'un. What brings you to this neck of the woods? Lookin' to buy one of my trained [drogmors], are ya? Well ya come to the right place. I've the best prices in all of the land when it comes to drogmors. And you'll not find a better display of fine animals anywhere! So if ya got the coin and the inclination, I've got just the thing to improve your traveling situation. Step right up and take a look.'

You say, 'drogmors'

Hizaklom Trappleton says, 'Ye've got an eye for quality. After we [found them], I raised these beasts up from wee little ones, I did. Now the trolls would just as soon turn a drogmor into a tasty meal as look at 'em, but I know how to train the docile beasts for riding. By the look on yer face I know what yer thinking. They may seem a mite lumbering and ponderous, but once they get to going you'll not be disappointed. They can match a horse, hoof step for hoof step. What do you say, stranger? I have to run a business and the drogmors need to keep out of the stew pot.'

You say, 'found them'

Hizaklom Trappleton scratches at the stubble on his chin thoughtfully, 'Aye, it were another of our sailing trips, lookin' for trouble and treasure as was usual. Why just a bit west of here, I mean south...Or was it southwest? Pah, no matter. We moored on an uncharted isle inhabited by the drogmors and I convinced the Cap'n to bring a few back. The rest is history.'

Around the tower is a pen with stabled drogmors. You can see the different colors there.

They determine how fast your drogmor can run.

This is from a post on one of the other drums, not sure how accurate it is: https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=19374&mid=10482591553455

Also, someone else was posting about hailing the NPCs that you buy the Drogmoors from, and noticed a good quote.

davidhutchinson wrote:

But to my mind the crucial phrase is 'They can match a horse, hoof step for hoof step'.

So in the spirit of nicking info from somewhere else (care of Zestee):

here are the speeds of the Horses and therefore Drogmor...

9K Rope Bridle = 25% Movement Rate Increase
30K Leather Bridle = 50% Movement Rate Increase
60K Silken Bridle = 60% Movement Rate Increase
100K Chain Bridle = 70% Movement Rate Increase

So, from reading his quote:

SMALL Drums = 25% Movement Rate Increase
Drums (No size name) = 50% Movement Rate Increase
LARGE Drums = 60% Movement Rate Increase
GIANT Drums = 70% Movement Rate Increase

Hope this helps, took me a bit to find all of the info (wish Allak would post the speeds on the effect link or something ... or if not Allak, at least Lucy Smiley: bah)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 19 2004 at 2:52 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Just so everyone knows ...... DONT EVER BUY A HORSE!!! Buy a Drogmor instead. The horses big fat head partially blocks your view and is a targetting nightmare. Drogmor heads dont block your view and are every bit as fast as horses. HORSES REALLY, REALLY SUCK!!!
RE: HORSES SUCK!!!

And thats your Opinion, not mine. I would rather want a horse, for the fact that i'm not on some gay little lizard thing. but that, again, is my opinion. . . AND, you can click through a horses head, so in other words, no, the head has no signifagince in being able or not able to target something.

Dont buy the 10k Drogmor , if u in a grp u will never keep up with them when u move around, at least with the 30k one u can keep up and it's about the same as r3 . The disadvantage of the Drogmor is its supposibly not as fast as the horse but , has the advantage of being able what infront of u opose to the horse head that alwaz in the way.
RE: Drogmor shopping
# Dec 26 2003 at 9:30 PM Rating: Decent
I disagree. I only bought my Drogmor in order to eliminate the need to sit and med. Being a pure caster the most annoying thing to me is having to use the /sit command strategically. So the moral of the story is if your buying these things for speed obviously don't buy the 10k lizzy. If your buying it for the meditation value save your plat for other stuff and just click the lizzy off when you move. It is unlimited after all :)
selling back drums
# Oct 06 2003 at 12:09 AM Rating: Decent
There are four gnomes sailors to the right of the drogmor seller in the lighthouse. Each one takes a different color drum. When you hand in the right color drum to the right gnome, he will give you back a bag of platinum. Sell that bag to the original drogmor seller for real plat.

Lizard seller
# May 30 2003 at 6:51 PM Rating: Default
This guy sells the drums to summon your riding lizard, called a Drogmor. Cheapest one with 125 charisma is 9500pp. The drum can go in your ammo slot and each color drum represents the color of the lizard you buy.

His brother Bidopan to the left of him is a banker.
