Killed centaurs south and west of village for hours, and then killed closer to paw, got him to spawn just NE of Paw. He roamed the same as most named, but was the only one I saw go through the centaur camp.

Mroon spawned while he was up also, so no shared PH there.

Followed this and isolated him:

Ph seemed to be the sw square of centaur spawns (middle of zone-ish, and on the west area.

This is spot on, all the spawns were between the west zone wall (including all the way against the wall) and the wizard spire as East-West boundaries, and between Paw and the undead ruins as North-South boundaries. All types of centaurs were on the cycle as far as I could tell.

I sat a druid just north of Paw to track for spawns in that area, and a Bard over closer to the wizard spires. With those two I was able to track the entire spawn area (it seemed) for about 40 PHs before Kroldir spawned.

The information about "they always spawn facing north" was also 100% accurate in my experience. They would spawn facing north and stand still for 30-60 seconds before wandering off in a random direction.

Confirmed. All his PH's were centaurs on a ~64 sec respawn. They spawn north of Paw but south of the centaur village. Most spawns were located just slightly NW of Paw itself. When they spawn they face straight north but then wander off in random directions after a short pause.
On one of the cycles?

This named Centuar appeared on the North side of zone while trying to force Quillmane to spawn. He dropped the quiver, but not the bow.
Thunderhoof Quiver

I slayed this guy today, and of course the Quiver does NOT go into RANGE or AMMO slot, duh. I dont think any container can fit in a 'gear' slot.

It's still 33% weight reduction which is 11 more than my Tailored Quivers, not too bad.

Dont know how rare the runed oak bow really is... last night I picked up Kroldir on my ranger radar twice and both times I was able to root and kill him with him dropping the bow both times along with a hunting bow and 4 arrows each time... figures I was hoping for the quiver, but it was nice to see that he exists! I have been in SK for the past couple of weeks almost daily and finally I was able to snag this guy

I've spent the last 8 levels in SK & have seen every other "rare" NPC except Kroldir. Consider yourself lucky!
Possible pop strategy
# Sep 15 2002 at 5:50 PM Rating: Decent
I cleared the centaur camp almost 3 times to collect arrows, I had track on normal mode to see new pops, next I know Kroldir is up near centaurs. Coincidence? I don't know, but it's worth trying. Funny, I was already carrying the Thunderhoof Quiver, plus a fleeting quiver I made the day before, getting ready to give the Thunderhoof to a guildy. So, I had 2 to give away. That was the 3rd one I'd had, true.

Thunderhoof

I camped this guy for like well forever, From about Lvl 21 till 52 (although after about 35 it was just cause). Anytime anyone wanted to find me they knew I was sitting in SK looking for this guy. The truth is I never saw him once on my ranger, not one time on track. I killed every named anything in this zone, I wiped out the centaurs repeatedly I even killed the bard (well Van halen guy anyway the other one is too high). I soloed Quillmane repeatedly (and always gave the shoulders away I might add). I got the cyclops toy, the crown of leaves, a bunch of bark shields, more Monk quest heads than I knew what to do with etc etc etc. Oh I didnt kill the named treant though I just couldnt make myself do that. Yet I never saw this guy I was convinced he was a myth.

Then one day on my 31 druid I log on the bridge, hit track and I FREAKED there he was. He went down easy and didnt drop the bow (I already have 3 Runed oak bows on my alts now from the Meadowgreen guy) but he did drop the quiver 33% reduction. I quickly transfered this to my ranger and used it TWO Friggin days till I finally had enough skins to commission a Fleeting quiver. So as usual by the time you can get something it is almost useless as you have gained so many levels that something else comes along.

I killed him up by the river in the North West area where all the named spawn who are not killed seem to go to either despawn or be killed. The same exact senario I used to finally kill the named Troll guy for the pack.

Anyway Good hunting hope you get this guy

So here it is in a nut shell , hes a random spwan anywhere in zone . Time is also random . Just be ready to wait it out if ya want a nice bow . I did get this bow and it only took me about 10 hours of camping SK . So good luck !
Coloth Meadowgreen

I've killed Coloth a few times. He's level 35 and very tough for his level. He has high magic resist and runs very fast. Don't try to solo him at 35. You'll die or get him to half health before you have to zone and let someone else have an easyish kill.

As far as I'm aware he has a random spawn point. He used to be seen daily (sometimes even hourly) but he is much rarer these days. You may end up waiting days for him to appear, and you won't be the only one waiting!

The bow is dropped on average 30-50% of the time, so you have a 1 in 2 to 1 in 3 chance of getting one.

As far as the lower level guy is concerned I've never seen him so can't comment on him or whether he drops the bow. It seems a very good bow for a lvl 20 drop.

Okay, this Runed Oak Bow sounds nice and all, especially dropped off a level 20 mob! But what I wanna know is, how rare a drop isit? Some of you guys have been just looking for him to pop once in days, whith no mention of whether its guaranteed to even drop when you get him. Is it an always, common, uncommon, in your fanciest dreams drop, what? Does it drop more often off the bigger guy, meadow whatsit?
Anyway, this bow looks really sweet, and if I can win it at my level (19), great! It would be a nice change from having to buy any decent loot (verrant really needs to take a closer look at the loot / level ratio on some of their mobs/quests, because we get this distubing trend where everything we use, we buy, everything we earn, we sell. WTF? Isn't this a Roleplaying Game?)

Kroldir drops a quiver, Coloth drops a bow. Sometimes the runed oak, sometimes a normal-ish longbow. At least that's the normal drop - another post here says Kroldir dropped the bow but that would be very rare.

Spawn point/time?
# Sep 21 2001 at 10:46 AM Rating: Default
I see a lot of people asking but no one really answering. What is his, or Coloth Meadowgreens spawn point and frequency of spawn? You may have seen him wandering here or there which is all well and good but is there an originating location or is it random? Would be easier to camp than to run around SK for hours hopin to get lucky, besides I'm tired of beating on Quillmane... )

What a long strange trip it's been... ) But I get to reply to my own post because... WOOT! I finally got my Runed Oak Bow, and it did in fact drop off of Kroldir Thunderhoof. Unfortunately I can't answer my own question in that I have no idea where I was when I killed him. Had been wandering around the zone one day after having givin up getting the bow long ago. Was talkin to guildies decided to check track and lo Kroldir was there so I went after the little bugger not expecting anything but after a VERY easy fight there he was dead with MY new bow... ) As a footnote, I checked track again immediately after and Coloth was up. Went after him too but he was dead by the time I got there and was told bow hadn't dropped, not that it mattered at that point since I had already got mine but I was curious so... Anyway, my only advice now is to be patient and eventually you will get lucky, everything else about these 2 horsies appears absolutely random....

After camping both the Aviak city and the stables for a combined 6 hours, I have yet to see Thunderhoof. The 1 time I did see Coloth, he was pulled and killed by a higher lvl then my poor lvl 19 ranger. They oughta call this guy never spawn! Any help with his spawn location or time?

I have had the fortune to see this guy actually pop. I was pulling centaurs from the stables, went in for a pull, and POP, this guy appears next to the fire in the center of the stables. He sits there for a min., then starts walking south out of the compound. Me, a 27 Warrior, didn't have time to pull him back, cause another group was right in his path, so WHAM, I hit him, slay him easy without any trouble(lost about 40+ hp, nothin to me) and he drops the THunderhoof Quiver, 33% weight reduction 4 slot quiver, pretty nice, sold to a ranger for 150 pp.
