I think after the LA Nerf that the axe styles may be used alot more now that our LA styles wont produce as much damage. Any 50's tested out style damages on Pendragon yet? Are all of us zerks going to have to respec main to axe and drop LA down?
HI i have a zerker 28 level with equal the axe/left axe...for the moment i use Ravanger/Atrophy/Scathing blade compination and i do most of the time enough damage...My problem is witch one i go all the way? axe or left axe? the havoc/Tyrs fury compination seems to work very good but i wont to know your opinions.. The reason im asking this is beacause while raiders discription seems excelent (high bonuys dmg low fatigue)i dont like it a bit compared with scathing blade(Left axe with discription medium bonus dmg medium fatigue)..scathing blade do a LOT MORE dmg..at least 50% more..
I'd suggest keeping left axe your level and dropping axe a bit and get parry up to about 3/4 your level. I'm a 32 zerker and I never use my axe skills but ya still should have points in it for the dmg final spec is goign to be abotu 50 left axe, 40 axe, 42 parry or somethign like that.
Is axes proficiency based on strenght only or strenght and something else?
I tend to miss a lot with my axe so I was guessing if it is a matter of dexterity (only 39 me trolly you know). That would mean that proficiency with axes is based on dexterity too.
I made a sb and for some reason he did not get the Cleave style. Is this a bug or have the styles been changed? I mean what's the point in getting Thrym's Strength if you don't get Cleave? Or can TS be used after some other style?
They recently made it so if a certain class does not get parry, they do not receive the styles that require a parry as an opener. Unfortunately, this means you cannot use Cleave (requires a parry) and can never use Thrym's Strength (requires Cleave).
Just posting this to clarify to any newbies wandering in and reading all the older posts about left axe and axe skills being linked.
They recently put in the fix that made the left axe damage based on left axe skill, rather than on axe skill. This means zerkers can spec in whatever the heck they want and still use left axe efficiently.
You maybe misunderstood. Someone was probably saying that left axe damage depends so heavily on styles, that when the zerker runs out of endurance, they become really pathetic.
What styles are you using ? At skill 27 now, I use plague to taunt, and pillager -> raider for damage. I wonder if havoc at level 29 is a good replacement for that ? Probably usefull as opening at level 50 for Tyr's Fury, but thats far off. All the other styles are useless, it seems. I am especially pissed about the valkyries shield->midnight sun chain - that works only after the ENEMY blocks an attack, so its only usefull in pvp. I knew evernight->arctic rift would be useless allready, but loosing two more styles hurts. I suppose at 39 I could try using glacial movement on an incomming pull, but I really hate being without any usable, low-endurance cost reactional styles at high level.
its funny how people think that regular axe skill affects left axe weapon dmg, no matter what weapon your using speced or no speced it can always achieve its maximum dmg say your a troll thane level 25 that has 25 points into axe..thats fully speced that means he has a higher average of maximum dmg of that weapon a weapon cannot excede the amount of dmg that it can do. but take that same thane and give him a sword of the same metal type lets say FA he now has a bigger chance of doing the minimum dmg of the weapon the more points more chance of doing max dmg of that weapon " of that weapon " being key phrase here
I went sword/left axe with my first character, and it was a mistake. I started over, not knowing for sure if it would make a difference, but learned that axe skill *definately* effects the left axe damage. My left axe now hits just as hard as my right axe, minus style damage.
(IMHO, it's stupid that in Midgard, dual wielders can't pick any weapon they want, like every other melee class, and dual wielders in other realms.)
ok, since there is noone answering the question about weapon choice for berserkers, I will have to put in my observation:
if you chose to go axe/axe, you get the best dam output and no ******** all the way. if you go hammer/axe or sword/axe, you will get into the lame position my berserker #2 is in, namely that he has to buy skill in hammer, axe AND left axe, which is so amasingly idiotic. your dam. output with left axe will decrease significantly if you don't buy skill in axe.
Splitter also causes a bleed (it seems like a medium duration bleed, but I'm not sure what they are going off of for the durations listed above). Splitter makes a great opening move and must be executed from behind the enemy.
Ah, yes you are correct. I'm a hammer person myself. I was speaking based on what I have witnessed playing with a RL friend who is a level 10 Berserker. I didn't realize Left Axe was a seperate list. Thanks!
Does Thane's could use 2handed axes caus i love my Thane with a nice two-handed axe, good chain-armor and all the best spells on lvl 50. And could somewone tell me if you can have a higher lvl than lvl50!!!!
