Ok just in case any of you are wondering how things are going. My father has since undergone two of the new treatments, his most recent being two days ago. They go in cycles of four. It's still too early for them to tell if this new treatment is having a positive effect. The good news, his white bloodcell and red bloodcell count haven't changed from what they were before the treatments started. According to the oncologist that is extremely good news.

The bad news, he is extremely tired, moreso than back when he was undergoing the regular chemotherapy. When he goes in for treatment he is there for about six to seven hours each day. The treatment has also been making him physically ill and they have already discussed admitting him for dehydration.

That is where it stands right now. We're still moving forward and trying to keep him upbeat, but his spirits are crashing. On friday I finalized things at the funeral home and cemetary where he will be buried so that made for a long day. I know I'm not here all the time but I figured I would update the people who had responded about my questions from before.

The blood cell count thing is very good news, that means hes staying somewhat healthy through the new treatment, whereas with chemo his white blood cell count would have dropped dramatically. The being physically ill and tired is normal for any treatment, you have to think of what exactly he's going through on the inside (no not mentally, but that too...) I really hope that these new procedures work out for you, cancer is every devil and demon manifested on earth. I wish you luck and again, spend a lot of time with him and your family they all need it. You probably do too.

Sorry Moebius, I'm a lurker/sporadic poster here. I had posted asking if anyone had heard of the new treatment they have put him on because the information I had found was very vague.
