DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Ember, in Snowdonia Station, claims she can make a new charm for you. Ember can be found at the Snowdonia Station at the back of the inn (not outside). The catch is that she needs a dragon ant larvae to do it. Fortunately, a dragon ant queeen spawns up the hill from the path outside the station. But unfortunately, it is a rather long wait for the Queen to spawn. From the station, the hill is to the northwest, before the goblin fort (loc=40000, 15000). Head up there and start killing ants until the queen appears and then kill her and extract the larvae. It's not the Dragon ant larva that you have to turn into Ember. Regular ant workers, soldiers, and drones drop the dragon ant larva. The queen however will drop a spotted larva. There is a spawn of the Dragon Ant Queen in Camelot Hills as well, in the 'bandit fields', not far from the guard tower outside Fortress Sauvage. Queen cons yellow to level 10, and has a blue and or a green that fights with her, so bring a friend. They are Northwest at loc 33k,27k. (Got her at 31000,26000 11pm (yellow 11) Which is very close to the previous given location). There is about 3 ants that spawn at a time, the queen spawned after about 20 minutes and was even to me lvl 11 armsman. The enraged cockatrices, forest poachers and ghost miners in the area provide decent hunting grounds for groups around 10-11. The ants (even the queen) can be solo'd however, at lvl 11. It's the spotted larva that you must turn into Ember. Bring it back to Ember and she will make you a Dragon Ant Charm. Did not receive: 09 Armsman 09 Paladin 10 Paladin 11 Cleric Reward: |

For those looking for a Dragon Ant Queen in Camelot Hills, the /faceloc is 40000, 15000. Kill a few Dragon Ant types (soldiers, drones, etc), and she'll spawn.

I did this quest as a level 10 Armswoman. It was pretty straightforward. I talked to Ember in the back of Snowdonia station, then headed NW to the ants. The queen wasn't up when I got there, but there were a few blue and green soldiers and drones to hunt in the meantime. I'd suggest clearing out the ant hill while you wait, because when her majesty spawns, even the gray conning worker ants will rush to her defense. The dragon ant charm was a nice reward, especially because it's the "jewelry" slot, which I haven't found anything else to put in.

It appears the instructions were corrected as they now say north west of the station. I had no trouble finding them, the hill is exatly NW next to a corpse of trees with forest poachers & smugglers in it. There is about 3 ants that spawn at a time, the queen spawned after about 20 minutes and was even to me lvl 11 armsman. Typo's in almost every quest, mispelled words, directions that are wrong, and missing information! I tried doing this quest (when I was level 9 and 10) Went to Snowdia Station, talked to Ember, but she didn't mention anything about a quest...

after 3 days of searching i finally found the ants near snowdonia station...rather than southwest of the station, they are Northwest at loc 33k,27k
and there was a queen present there..cons yellow to lvl 11

Make sure you bring a friend with you if you are lvl 10 or so. I got my *** handed to me by those ants. They swarmed me and although the queen was conning yellow to me, there were just too many to fight off. Same thing happened to me with the Lady Leana quest. Her little sprite nymph fairies of whatever they are called all swarmed me and I must have had like 40 arrows in me. So just a word of advice bring a healer with you and you'll do just fine. Alone = risky and I have healing ability as a Pally.

this quest has changed u now must bring her a spotted dragon ant larva witch only dropps off the queen.( yes i tried to give her a dragon ant larva she will not take it it must be the spotted one hope this helps

Ok this it, I finished this quest last night. When I was hunting wargs with my guild, one of em just told everyone to get the dragon ant charm quest from ember as we where waiting for more members to arrive. Ember can be found at the Snowdonia Station at the back of the inn (not outside). Soon after I made my way to castle sauvage (cuz thats the only place I know of that has an ant hill) it is to the east of Ludlow and NE of cotswold. Just b4 the guard tower at castle Sauvage. There is some brown hills, thats the ants hill. Just kill some ants for awhile, I hunted there for 2 occasions. Once the queen spawned after a few deaths of her minions, the second I was waiting there for 30mins and she didnt pop. But on the third I was lucky she had already spawned and was going around supervising her workers.

it's not a pendant, its a charm. goes in your jewelry slot(which there aint very many things that go in there, bud)

Yes, it is jewelry which does make a difference. However, I would have to agree with the previous poster that it is not worth much. I already had a Const +3 item (Snake Charm) from a previous quest. I was a little disappointed that I rcvd a Level 8 item from a Level 10 quest. It gives Const +4, which had a substantial impact of +0!!! to my lowly mage HP versus the Snake Charm. Hardly useful at all. Note to quest designers: Please give us items that are even worth equipping for a couple of levels!!! Quests are fun, but too often they are like great games with lousy "Drop to DOS" endings...

Research the quests you want to undertake before you start accepting them all over the place. My Merc on Palomides has completed 47 quests ( I'm trying to do them all just to say that I have ) and you will find that there are a lot of quests out there like this one that you get crap items for or items that you can't use and (usually) can't sell.
It's nice to have quests in the game, but I have to agree that the items we receive for them should be a little more useful/powerful...

to the south of the farm that has the undead pigs by prydwyn keep, you will see a guard tower up on a slope, oposite the tower with in view, is a dragon ant camp, no queen spawns there but they all drop dragon ant larva, and carapaces, the workers con blue to me at lvl 6 , and the warriors con orange, they all drop the larva at this camp, it can be done by posibly a group of lvl 4 people if they know whats going on.

I think the info on the lvl 9 should be lvl 10 , I also couldnt get the quest till lvl 10.
From now on I think ill lvl up one more than stated, before I do a long run to do a
quest, unless Im just in the area. this is the second quest that has been this way.

Tried this quest last night with some friends, the L9 members of group got quest and item drop, those of us L9 didn't.
Err sorry make that the L10 members got it not L9 :o)

For the record, the ant hill is northwest of the town. With my Theurgist speed buff it takes less than a minute to get there....and you do need to go up a hill. Queen cons yellow to me (level 10) and will get a good bit of help if you don't clear the blues around her. First time I killed her I didn't get the spotted larva...the second time I did...it appears in your inventory after the queen is dead. I received some help from a charitable paladin...I would have died for sure without it. The ring gives me +3 additional constitution.

I tried to get quest at 9th level and could not get it. i was in that area again with my group and we all got it at 12+ as we had a 12 and I was 14th so I know you can get it at least 12th. Also it goes in your jewelry slot which is awesome since i had noty got anything there as of yet.

Did this quest last night, its a +3 ring and you do need a special spotted larvae (as someone else mentioned) Very easy quest you can do the whole thing in 5 mins since the spawn is very close (start walking the road towards snowdonia and tuen off the road to the left a bit, only a few hundred paces from Ember) and the queen was yellow to me at 10.

I am a 9th Armsman and Ember does not give me the quest. Does anyone know at what level they are getting it. It says 9-50 but I really wonder if that is correct.

Not any old larvae will work, you MUST kill the dragon ant queen. She is the only one that drops the spotted larvae.

ive gotten larvae off of dragon ant workers so if you kill enuf of them you should eventually get one, making this possible for lower levels.
