Bishop Burhoff's Curse

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Per patch 1.76: - Bishop Burhoff's Curse - Dark Bishop Burhoff may now be found behind the Vetusta Abbey in Black Mountains South. [Note: Some may be able to obtain this quest without doing the Lord Aryon's Box quest.] Lord Aryon's Box is the prerequisite quest and must be completed before you can get this one. Your steps and tasks may vary. Here follows the step-by-step run through on the quest, as per patch 1.76. Write up by: Rojer of Igraine Speak to Brother Lensar, who can be found inside the main cathedral of Camelot City, by the exit to the cemetary. Brother Lensar says, "Greetings, my brother. Are you [well this day]?" Brother Lensar says, "I am glad to hear that. I myself am well too, but not everyone in this world is. I am thinking of one soul in particular. His name is [Bishop Burhoff]." Brother Lensar says, "Bishop Burhoff was the most trusted advisor of Lord Aryon. Lord Aryon ruled a castle in Avalon Marsh. During Mordred's Rebellion, the castle was attacked, and Lord Aryon rallied his men to defeat Morgana's armies. Lord Aryon and his men were just about to win when they were betreyed by Bishop Burhoff. He had kept his loyalty to Morgana a secret. He arranged for Lord Aryon to be stabbed and poisoned, then he opened the gates to Morgana's evil creatures. As Lord Aryon lay dying, his men being massacred, he cursed Bishop Burhoff for his treachery. A knight heard the curse, and sacrificed himself to make sure Bishop Burhoff died and [the curse was fulfilled]." Brother Lensar says, "The curse insured that Bishop Burhoff would haunt the Vetusta Abeey in the night. But we of the Church believe that Bishop Burhoff has come to feel regret for his actions and we wish to know more. All we are lacking at this point is a brave soul to assist us. Do you happen to [know of one]." Will you help the Church find out more about Bishop Burhoff? [Level 19] You have been given the Bishop Burhoff's Curse quest. Brother Lensar says, "Your help is most appreciated, (your name). I have prepared a ritual prayer that will help us [determine Burhoff's will]." Brother Lensar says, "Lately we have seen Burhoff's spirit roaming the halls of this Church late at night. We believe that he wants to talk to us, but cannot yet. I believe he needs something from his former life to [link him to this world]." Brother Lensar says, "I believe his remains will work as the link. You will have to defeat him to get access to his remains, for he guards them closely. If you could get his skull, that will be enough. Venture to Vetusta Abbey now, and return when you have it!" [Step #1] Get Bishop Burhoff's skull from him in Black Mountains South. You may find him behind Vetusta Abbey when the day is gone. Visit the back of Vetusta Abbey,22k,63k, during the hours of darkness (beginning at midnight) and you will find the Dark Bishop Burhoff behind the back of it. You receive the Burhoff's skull from Dark Bishop Burhoff. [Step #2] Return to Brother Lensar in Camelot City. Brother Lensar says, "Wonderful, you have survived that encounter. Search the graveyard for Bishop Burhoff. I have seen him wandering there at night. Give him the skull and he will speak with you." [Step #3] Find Bishop Burhoff in the graveyard inside Camelot at night and give him the skull. Visit the graveyard behind the Church during the hours of darkness and give Burhoff's skull to the ghost of Bishop Burhoff. You are awarded 231,700 experience! Bishop Burhoff says, "You wish to speak to me? Am I in [a church]?" [Step #4] Talk to Bishop Burhoff and find out about his curse. Bishop Burhoff says, "If I am in a church, then perhaps the time has come to lift the curse that is upon me. If I only I could rid myself of this curse. I could seek out Lord Aryon in the otherworld and [beg his forgiveness]. But as long as I am cursed, I cannot seek him out to beg his forgiveness." Bishop Burhoff says, "Aye, I would beg his forgiveness. I was entranced by Morgana's beauty and spells, and didn't see the error of my ways until I lay dying. I only wish now to make it right. But I need help to [break the curse]." Bishop Burhoff says, "To break the curse, I need a adder fang. I will use it to slice my [ties to this earth], breaking the curse. When I was alive, you could find them in Forest Sauvage. I'd start there." [Step #5] Get an adder fang from a forest adder in Forest Sauvage. Search Petitcrieu's Run South, which is southeast of the mile gate, Porth Excalibur South. Bishop Burhoff says, "Once you have it, return to me here. Take this skull with you, so that you may speak to me again when you return. The blessing of the Church upon you, my child." The item you may be requested to retrieve may be different. I have also been asked to retrieve the eyes from a large bear in Llyn Barfog. Also you may be asked to get an eye from a gwr-drwigiad in Llyn Barfog. Go to where Bishop Burhoff has sent you and kill the creature he indicated for the necessary item. [Step #6] Return to Bishop Burhoff in the graveyard in Camelot at night and give him the skull. Bishop Burhoff says, "You have returned. Do you have the adder fang for me? I wish to leave this world and seek out Lord Aryon in the beyond. Please give it to me now." [Step #7] Turn in the adder fang to Bishop Burhoff. Bishop Burhoff says, "Thank you! I have a reward for you for helping me. It is something I will no longer need now, but I think you will like it and it will serve you well. I thank you again for helping me, and I know the Church thanks you too. Now to seek out Lord Aryon's forgiveness." You have completed the Bishop Burhoff's Curse quest! You are awarded 1,238,610 experience! You receive the War hammer from Bishop Burhoff! Reward: |

SÃ¥ I killed the dark Bishop behind Vestusas Abbey, talked to him and went to get the Forest Adder he asked me to. Upon returning the quest prompts me to get him to talk to me again by handing in a skull which I don't have. So I feel a bit lost here - what skull are they talking about and do u need to kill the dark bishop more than once?

Gave his skull to him in Step #4 but it wasn't returned to me to be able to give it to him again in Step #6

EEk. I only had 1 skull. Went and killed the dark bishop a coupla more times but no skull. Help!?!

Make sure you're handing in the right skull. When I killed the Dark Bishop both a "dark skull" and "Burhoff's Skull" dropped. You need to hand him the "Burhoff's Skull."

I also was given the task to get a fang from a small rock bounder, so I guess they ol' bishop assigns tasks appropriate to the level/class of the character speaking to him.

Did this quest at lvl 20 as a cleric talked to the brother lensar in the pally/cleric church he wanted me to kill Dark bishop burhoff and get a skull off him you get 2.
Dark bishop is in the ruin church in avalon marsh follow the road past the avalon retreat keep going no left or right turns and you will see on teh right ghost knights and alot of um just go to the ruins at the back of the church and you will find him kill him and go back to camelot and speak to brother lensar and he will say give the skull to bishop burhoff in the grave yard which is right by brother lensar wait till night fall in the grave yard wait till 10pm he should pop up give him teh skull and he will ask you to kill a mist monster in avalon marsh which is north west from caer witin keep to get a mist gem of the mob then go back at night to teh grave yard in camelot and give the gem to him.
Then you have a nice hammer lil slow but more damage with +3 piety +2 crush
Btw i didnt need to do any related quest to get this one at 20,but my bro tryed to do it and the brother lensar would not speak to him very strange:/

The ghost will give you different tasks. He gave me the task of finding a Forest Adder and bringing an adder fang. The adders may be found in Forest Savauge, just north of the keep and off the road to the right.
However, my freind did this quest and he was asked for a fang from a rock bounder. Rock Bounders may be found on the path to Snowdonia Fortress, but beware they can be as high as purple to a level 20.

Yes he does give different task. He sent me to LynnBarfog to get a eye of a Black Bear.

Have done Lord Aryon's box quest, but don't know where starting NPC for this quest is found. I tried the NPC's in camelot church. 21 lvl cleric so would like to get the war hammer, can someone tell me who I need to talk to start this quest?

I got the quest from the NPC in the Church, the brown rode guy between Pally trainer and the door to the gray yard. I think I got it at level 20 but could have been 21.

I just did this quest at 26 (armsman) with two others (cleric 26 and wizard 29) and everything was grey to us apart from the cleric's task which was to bring a rock bounder tooth from Snowdonia. I had to go to Avalon marsh and get a mist monster (grey) and the wizard lass had to go to Barfog to get one of those demon things with all the consonants gwr ceadithwyr or something like that, which was also grey. Minimum on this quest is probably more like 20. The cleric and I also did Lord Aryon's box quest concurrently.

I received this quest at level 20 (cleric) and use this hammer at present.
Its a slight upgrade from my Breaker and hence well worth the trouble.
You need to have completed the Lord Aryon's box quest before being able to do this one first though.

I am a sorceress and did this quest somewhere between 25th and 28th I believe if not earlier...I am pretty sure that this quest is much lower level. Everything I had to kill was grey to me when I did this. Have fun!

I did a similar quest where I had to retreive the bishops skull and a bears eye from Llyn Barfog. I thusly recieved a War hammer.
