Guard Arvakl says, "Healer, I do not have time to waste words. I have a mission for you if you are [up for it]."

Guard Arvakl says, "It is my duty to defend this location and provide a safe spot for our troops to rest after they fight their way through Nyttheim. I think I've done well so far, especially now that the terracites have realized that we're not leaving. Now, if we could only [make it easier] to get the troops through Nyttheim to here."

Guard Arvakl says, "Every time Odagi orders another troop to come down here to try to cut off the advancing army and find the source of this evil, they have to fight their way down through Nyttheim. There are always deaths, even though they try their best to stay hidden. That's why I've decided to [try something] to help my comrades."

Guard Arvakl says, "I've been offering rewards to anyone who can get rid of three of those possessed Kobolds. Yes, I know they were once Kobolds like me, but they aren't any longer. They are set upon [defeating us] and I will not let that happen. If enough people take three of them out, soon there won't be any of them left."

Guard Arvakl says, "So, what do you say? Are you up for [dealing with] these possessed creatures that threaten our troops?"

You have been given the 'Ears To You! (Midgard) quest.

[Step #1] Obtain three ears from the maniacal warmongers. They can be found in the main cavern in Nyttheim.

Guard Arvakl says, "Good. I like anyone who doesn't shirk away from danger, and dangerous this will be. You need to head into Nyttheim and look for maniacal warmongers. Bring me the ears of three of these possessed Kobolds. When you get them, put them in this box then bring it back to me. You may need a friend to help you. If they speak to me first, I'll pay them too. Good luck!"

You receive the Box for Warmonger Ears from Guard Arvakl!

go to nyttheim approx loc=28000,23600 & kill 3 maniacal warmongers around there.

You remove an ear from the maniacal warmonger and place it in the Box for Warmonger Ears.
The maniacal warmonger dies!

[Step #2] Obtain 2 more ears from the maniacal warmongers in Nyttheim.
You remove an ear from the maniacal warmonger and place it in the Box for Warmonger Ears.
The maniacal warmonger dies!

[Step #2] Obtain 1 more ear from the maniacal warmongers in Nyttheim.
You remove the last ear from maniacal warmonger and slip it into the Box for Warmonger Ears.
The maniacal warmonger dies!

[Step #3] Return to Guard Arvakl at the outpost in the Underground Forest.

Guard Arvakl says, "What can I do for you? Oh wait, I remember you. I sent you off to Nyttheim to clear some of those troublesome possessed out there. Well, what do you have for me?"

[Step #4] Give Guard Arvakl the Box of Warmonger Ears.

give him the box (item is actually named Box for Warmonger Ears in inventory...)

Arvakl opens the box and counts the ears inside.

Guard Arvakl says, "Very impressive, Healer. Now there are three less possessed kobolds to trouble our troops as they make their way down here. Here is the reward I promised for those ears. Good job, Healer. If you ever need assistance, come seek me out here."

You are awarded 465,000,000 experience!
You are awarded 1 gold and some silver!

This quest is repeatable.
