My SB got a REALLY nice L27 Loki's Nightblade ring for this quest. It had Envenom +3, Left Axe +2, Strength +3 and Hits +20. Well worth the death, which came quick BTW. You are attacked as soon as you talk with Hunter Ketilsson, so if you're gonna buff up, do it before you exchange pleasantries with him.
