DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Per Patch 1.60: - Weakened Bonds: Players should now find that Archdruid Glasan is once again spawning. Per Patch 1.70: - Necromancers may use the ley crystals while in shadeform. At the academy, Librarian Pelan gives this quest, it ends up when you kill the ArchDruid Gasan in Salisbury plains. You may have to /whisper Gem Staff to get this quest. Also see below under helpful hints. This is what I had to do: Pelan (2nd floor on building just north of the patio at the academy) Sends you to speak with Scout Dherin (atop the watch tower just south of Castle Sauvage)(New Frontiers he can be found inside the entrance of the tower located east of Gronyr's Farm. Approx. 39k,32k, Camelot Hills.) who in turn sends you to speak with Gral Bermorn (atop the tower in C. Ulfwych) who sends you in several errands that culminate in the final fight with Archdruid Gasan. "The Darkenstone is taken from one of the Giant Skeletons in the circle at 57k,57k. If lost or damaged, another can be obtained by returning and taking another from the Giant Skeletons." You visit the major circles in a clockwise manner around sals plains. The first one is the one where the large skeletons spawn at night, as you travel along the river to the broken bridge. The minor circle I used was the one just south of west downs. From the first major circle go west to the next one, west to the next one again, west to the next one again. north to the next one, north-eastish to the next one and then finaly southish to the next. They are very easy to spot. Then go to stonehenge for the last step and use the darkenstone. Archdruid Glasan will spawn at a smaller circle of stones, just north of the centre of stonehenge. There are the 7 circles listed in order that you must visit and activate the well using the ley crystal along with their respective locs. 1. Beartaine: 55k,44k 2. Midsummer: 46k,46k 3. Lughnasadu: 22k,45k 4. Mabon: 12k,45k 5. Yule: 12k,28k 6. Imblog: 54k,12k 7. Ostara: 54k,28k To use the Darkenstone, equip it in the hot bar, then press E (or your use button) and then click on the stone. Ley stones are used in the same manner. I saw that Pelan would not give the quest to another Friar (Lv 28 Friar myself), but thought to try it anyway. I found him but he would not give me the time of day, let alone the quest. :( However, I ended up moving closer to him and in the corner by the bookcases I got a message saying I had "Entered the Library"...on a whim I asked again and it worked! So...if he does not give you the quest, try moving around in the area you find him in until you get the "enter library" message and hope for the best! A totally worthless endless quest that isn't worth the time it takes to even bother to look at it. I trust the fool that came up with this one has been fired or at least demoted to lunch run lackey.
Pointless and long-winded. XP and gold so little you don't notice. I got a ley Infused Belt of Vigor - with +% to Power Pool - which an Armsman can't make use of, and as usual, you can't sell it to Merchs. Mythic Balls on skates again.

I did this quest at lvl 40 with my fire wizzy and it was long and drawn out. The rewards do not favor doing it at really any lvl the belt of power I got gives 8% to power pool. If you like doing quests then go ahead but for 15.6 mil exp and 60 silver i could've died in AC a few times and still come out better than this.

I spent 2 hours completing this quest, and when I was done I got a belt with 2 points to power on it for a level 29. Thats not the bad part.

This quest badly needs updating. It is incredibly time consuming and involves more running around than the 20ish defenders epics. Also, I don't really feel the instructions about getting the ley stones and activating the rings is particulary clear. It has an interesting story line, but it took me two evenings to get a belt with +8 power on it. Once upon a time we would have been pleased with that, but it's not really very good now we have catacombs.
The minor circles are located at 5k 15k, 35k 17k and 25k 55k. Although the southern one is most convenient, it has a lot of blue/green aggro in it, which is a pain.
Necros can use the ley crystals, but frustratingly, not the darkenstone. The ley stones just get dropped on the floor and anyone can pick them up.

WHERE IS THAT DAMN DARKSTONE!
Thje guy at ulfwych tells you to kill the giant skeletons for it. Not sure if it is this particular or not, but they are the sme ones that spawn in the se corner of the plains- across the river from the broken bridge. They are a night only spawn, replaced by fairy frogs during the day.

I just finished this quest (28 Paladin), and of course got the Ley Infused Belt of Vigor, which is listed as having something like +13 str +2 power, but I get no str from it. I put it on take it off, nothing changes. Same thing with Cloak of the Allegiant (level 24 quest). It's supposed to be 7 str 7 con a couple resists and 36 hp, i get like 2 con from it and that's all. I can't even check an item's stats in game i have to do it here. I keep getting told Shift+I, but I swear all that does is open/close one of my inventory windows. If I hold shift+I for more than a second it just open/closes one of my inventory windows very quickly. I know I have to be missing something simple somewhere, cause I'm still new to the game. I just can't figure out why these quest pieces are useless to me when they shouldn't be, especially when they all con yellow to me. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong, anything please?

My guess is that your Str is capped. I don't know the formula, but it's based on your level, so each level you'll be able to raise your stats a few more. The same would apply on the Cloak you mention - if your Str and Hits are capped, and your Con is near the cap, you would only see the small Con increase.
On the question about Shift-I:
First, you must right-click on the item- that brings up a small info window showing the name, armor factor, and a few other things. When that small window is showing, hold shift and press I. That will bring up a larger window with more detail about the item.

Well he was orange to me at 28 and pounded me into the dirt. Lost 3/4 of a bubble of xp and had to pay about 2 gold total in repairs and constitution healing. Plus I spent all day doing it... so I don't think I'll come out ahead on this one, lol.

Since New Frontiers, the tower just South of Sauvage is gone. That's where Dherin used to be.
He's now just inside the entrance of the tower located east of Gronyr's Farm. Approx. 39k,32k, Camelot Hills.

Also if you go to minor druid circle (one of them) its 27k 56k, green cons to a lvl 29 reaver. In order to get the ley crystal it has to be night and to use them it has to be night. Can wait at the starting cirle and make the run to all 7 and kill the mob in one game night. Best to farm for 8+ ley crystals first.

The mercenary Berik Liglim is located at 50486 / 54813 and occures yellow to lvl 28. He is surrounded by yellow and orange mercenaries and if you pull him 2 to 3 mercenaries add.

This quest was fun, though I was confused at first about having to visit the rings.
You don't have to visit every minor ring; only the major rings; there are 7 of them.
The Major rings are up on hills, the minor ones are on ground level.
You need a ley stone for the 7 major rings.
You get those by standing in any one minor ring and using your darkenstone. (Right click the darkenstone in your inventory and type /use.)
I recommend starting at any minor ring (the stone will tell you major or minor when you step inside )at nightfall and using the darkenstone 7 times to get the needed ley stones.
The ley stones drop on the ground and you can use the same darkenstone to get 7 ley stones at the same ring. You just have to wait about 16 seconds between each use.
When you walk inside a Major ring, your darkenstone will tell you which ring you're in and if it's the one you need (you do have to go in the order listed above and here:
1. Beartaine: 55k,44k
2. Midsummer: 46k,46k
3. Lughnasadu: 22k,45k
4. Mabon: 12k,45k
5. Yule: 12k,28k
6. Imblog: 54k,12k
7. Ostara: 54k,28k

I did this quest w/ friar (lvl 32) got the belt of chaste...this quest makes u run back and forth to Gral Bermorn (if i ever hear his name again i'll....) like 4x's and can only use ley's crystals at night (so if u missed the time, guess what :P yep ur waiting) if i knew i wasn't gettin the belt of suppression i would never have done this quest...Like my subject says...BIG WASTE OF TIME... (quest took bout 45 mins to do)

Seems like you're playing on one of the european servers. I've heard, that the german servers have this problem due to the incorrect translations of the quests.

I see a number of postings here for people who received the Belt of Vigor (usually tanks) and the Belt of Power (most casters, it seems) from this quest. What I'd like to know is: what class(es) has/have received the actual Belt of Suppression? As a Wizard, I agree that it sounds like too much grief to go through, if I'm only going to get +8 Power out of the deal...

I'm a 38 cab, just did the quest and got a belt of power, +8 power. No int, no anything else.

I don't know if this will work for everyone, but when I tried to get this quest, at 28(I'm an Armswoman), I could not get Pelan to speak to me. However, the dialogue did start up when I selected him and said 'gem staff'. After needing to initially prompt him, I was able to complete the quest in its entirety, and recieved the +13 str +2 power belt.

I had a heck of a time obtaining the ley crystals. I put the darkenstone in the hot bar and pressed E as instructed and kept getting a "You attempt to use the darkenstone." "You can't fire or ready the item." The trick is to put the darkenstone in the hot bar and press E and the number of the slot you put it in quickly otherwise you'll continue to receive the above message. Also you obtain the darken stone from the giant skeletons that spawn at night in the "Stone Ring" not the druid ring across the river where the fairey frogs are. FYI the Stone Ring is it's own zone.

To Use an item, click it and put it in your hotbar, then *hold down* the E (use) key and while holding, click the hotbar icon for the item you're trying to use.
And Stone Ring is actually a Region within Salisbury Plain, not a separate zone.

I had a heck of a time obtaining the ley crystals. I put the darkenstone in the hot bar and pressed E as instructed and kept getting a "You attempt to use the darkenstone." "You can't fire or ready the item." mesasage. The trick is to put the darkenstone in the hot bar and press E (default key for USE) and the number of the slot you put the darkenstone in quickly, otherwise you'll continue to receive the above message. Also you obtain the darken stone from the giant skeletons (not large skeletons as indicated by a previous post) that spawn at night in the "Stone Ring". I made the mistake of going to the merc tomb raider mound first thinking it would be in the plains, knowing the stone ring was a seperate zone.
Berik Liglim was with the merc tomb radiers by the trees east of the tomb raider camp and west of the leigioners by the broken bridge. Still green to my level 37 Armsman.
Archdruid Gasan was NE of stonehenge by an outcropping of rocks, also green.

Just so everyone is clear... the ring in the SE corner of the zone, where the froggies are during the day, there at night spawns the Giant Skellies who drop the Darkenstone. The first Giant Skell you kill will drop this stone.

The Faerie Frog circle is in the SE corner of the zone (approx. loc. 57500, 57500), which is Southeast of the bank of trees you found Berik at. The quest Journal entry says this ring is East of the Mercs, that's completely wrong, it's SOUTHEAST of the Mercs.

Well, I did this tonight and received the Ley Belt of Power, except mine doesn't conform to the stats listed here at 'Khazam's...mine only gives +8 power. Very dissapointing for the time, risk, work and running to accomplish it. I'd much rather have had the Suppression belt, if it's stats were as advertised here, but them's the breaks I reckon.

I had that problem also. I went through the process repeatedly. I relogged and stared ove. Spent at least an hour trying different things. Came back the next day and tried again. This time while I was bored waiting for the item to recharge, I killed some greys. I accidentally hit my F7 key and LO AND BEHOLD, I had selected one of the crystals. I look down and there are several there. They appear on the ground, not in your inventory.

ok i have finish this quest though the story line was great it was long and as a wiz i was extremely disapointed with the reward for i thought i would get the dex belt instead i got a belt with plus 8 power wich i have way better and this quest can get tedious i wish i didnt waste my time with it i could be level 29 by now sigh.....
