For those who care, Ambrosius Aurelianus was Merlin the Wizard's father, according to the classic Mary Stewart "Merlin" trilogy of novels. He was Uther's older brother, who was of course King Arthur's father. Ambrosius, Uther, and their army came out of exile in France, invaded Britian and a much younger Merlin used his engineering skills to create a monument at Stonehendge. I'm pretty sure this is also where Uther had his brother buried.

Actually Ambrosius Aurelianus is considered the historical figure upon whom King Arthur is derived. The first record of him is from Gildas in the year 540 (De Excidio et Conquestu Britanniea). His name was later Christianized to Arthur by Nennius around the 9th century (Historia Brittonum). And from that point the character we know as King Arthur evolved.

I don't know what's happened to this guy since the previous 2 posts, but here's the scoop as of 05/08/2002.:
He can be found in The Barrows, in the hallway adjoining the stairways,between the Spiritual Advisors and the Vigilant Souls. He cons purple at lvl 38 and he killed an entire party of 8 high lvl 30's. He can, however, be easily avoided by hugging the wall, when traveling between the 2 rooms. I didn't have time to notice if he was "aggressive" as I was fighting for my life at the time,lol.

He is part of the Defenders of Albion 30th Epic quest. I saw a theurgist talking to him before making an entrance to barrows. And after a brief conversation Morganna pops and smokes this guy (con purple) to me at 31 with an uba fireball spell and that was that.
