Players over level 25 may once again obtain this quest. Talk to Sugnhild in Huginfell. She speaks of a bad last winter and staying on in town because she lost her beloved husband because of it. Her husband was set upon by a creature named Swift who is found near the border gates. She asks you to return the ring Swift stole from her husband. Sugnhild says, "Good day to you. I have heard stories of your travels being told at some of the tables at our local inn. I wish someone like you were around during [last winter]." Sugnhild says, "Last winter was indeed a sad one for me. I lost my [loved one] and also the ring that he gave me in case something might befall him." Sugn hild says, "Aye my friend, my husband was a wonderful man. His name was Fridgier and he was one of the most dashing men I have ever set eyes upon. He was sent on a mission by [Gudlor] and never returned. He said he could not tell me where he was going. I [searched many weeks] for him but to no avail." Sugnhild says, "Gudlor is the town leader, Perhaps you should see him sometime." ***You go see Gudlor after you finished this and he gives you the Protect Huginfell quest. I went to him before completing the Lover's Circle and got the Protect Huginfell, he said to worry about Redhands later, which is another quest called Living Warning. Sugnhild says, "While out one day, I was beset upon by this small sprite andhis followers. He laughed and called me names and then sapped me while I wasn't looking. When I awoke, I was in the bare and left in the woods to die. It was only by the hand of a Skadi that I was able to find furs and food enough to make it back to town. I have never gone out again for that creature stone the [ring] my husband gave me from my finger. All I have left to live for is my duty as a town guard." Sugnhild says, "I wish I could have my ring again. Maybe you could go and get it for me." You have been given the Lover's Circle quest. Sugnhild says, "Oh thank you! I will tell you what I know. The creature that robbed me kept repeating the same words over and over. It said swift as swift may be, you can catch me. I believe I was near the boundary gates but I can't be for sure. I will reward you greatly for my ring if you manage to find it. Journey well and good luck." [Step #1] Search for Swift near the boundary gates. Swift should be around 53000,6400 in West Svealand. She conned yellow at level 17. (Also seen at 56533, 4800 around 6:45am, seems Swift likes to roam a bit.) Swift says, "Get away from me!" Swift says, "I don't have any stupid ring. Leave me alone." Swift drops a ring as she screams in pain. You receive a Ring of Illbane from Swift. You receive XXX experience points! [Step #3] Return the ring to Sugnhild in Huginfel Sugnhild look at you with tears in her eyes, as if waiting for something. Sugnhild says, "Oh, you have returned! Do you have my ring? I will pay you 40 silver for it. Just give it to me." [Step #4] Give the ring to Sugnhild. You give Sugnhild the Ring of Illbane. Sugnhild dances around gleefully showing of her ring. Thank you! Sugnhild says, "Oh thank you so much. I am so happy. Thank you! Thank you! Oh. Oh but wait. Here, you should keep it. You've gone through so much to get it. I've learned it's not the most important thing to me at all." You receive a Ring of Illbane from Sugnhild. You are awarded experience! You have finished the Lover's Circle quest You are awarded 40 silver and some copper! lvl 15 received 223,146 experience. Reward: |

The loc given here is WAY off. I found Swift at 52,6k NOT what is stated above. It is close to Vindsaul Faste.

anyone else get this much for doing this quest?
This morning I completed this quest finally at lv 21 cuase I was bored. When I returned the ring to her after killing Swift, I recieved the 40sp plus 1,445,721xp!!!
Thats a full bubble at lv 21. My alt character at lv 17 only got around 200,000xp

Wish I had believed you when I read this post. I too am lvl 21 and just completed this quest. I received 1,445,045 exp for it!!!!!!!! I really wish I had wated and seen if the exp keeps going up! That would be cool. Anyone doing this quest that needs exp more than the item, I recomend waiting until higher lvl.

K. Finally I found Swift spwan at east of gate where wind spirits (sp) there, Be a 21 hunter I took her down w/o any problem. After I return to Sunnhild, She told me keep the ring and gave me 40s.

I wish I had realized that earlier. I did the quest with one char one night. then a couple nights later I tried to do it again but he was gone. I had waited there for a long time suspecting him to be where he usually was. What a hard life I lead....

Did this quest today, found Swift on the right side of gates (if you are looking at them). He was on a little hill, solo'd him was orange to my 15 Thane. Hope this helps

This may be two quests now. The first quest, Lover's Circle ended when my Level 17 (or so) Huntress got the ring after killing Swift. There was no second part.
Gudlor then gave me the Thegn Aki quest, which was ok for a level 20 solo hunter. I camped blods for days, and couldn't pull Thegn Aki out of the house for anything. One day I got a little close, and Aki, two windcallers and a svard popped through the wall. Pet, a mauler, died instantly, and Aki and the svard, yellow and blue came right for me. The casters decided to take a little break. I killed Aki, but the svard got the better of me. The merchants will give me one copper piece for the helm. >cough<
Upon reaching level 21, Gudlor gave me the second part - Fridgeir Gestsson. He's walking around the blod fort, if you just wait outside awhile he'll come sauntering by. He conned orange to me, and had two yellow wolfwarrior escorts, so I blew it off. He spawned at least five times, each time the same. The next day, I happened to be in the neighborhood, and this time he conned yellow, and had three grey warhounds, so I took him down, and the dogs were no match for me and my lynx.
He gave me the Flame Helm, which adds Dex and Quik (among other mods), and is a nifty black color. He told me to tell his wife he loved her. I did, and she did nothing. Gudlor gave me a pat on the back.

i killed swift, then i gave back the ring to the lady and......nothing at all (nada niet nothing rien...), except the fact i received 40 sp some xp (but not the ring)

FYI, Redhands is in the large Blodfelag fort (it's BIG) northwest of Audliten and west of Vindsaul faste. When you take the western road out of Audliten past the guard tower over the bridge, take a left when you get to the fork that leads to Vindsaul Faste (instead of right into Vindsaul). Keep heading down that road and the Blod fort is right at the end of it. :)
Redhands cons purple to my at L19, I figure he's mid-20s. He's in the back of the fort and tends to come out after you've killed off a bunch of Blod Havas (casters) and Wolfwarriors who protect the place. Definitely don't try to kill him solo until those front guys are grey to you.

Each turned in the ring, got the 40silver but she kept both rings :(
What triggers her giving them back to you?
Think maybe Guldor gives the Guantlet quest out later when you've killed the Bloodfelg bloke.
So this needs updating. It's not the guantlets you get from this quest but 40 silver, some exp and maybe if your lucky the ring back.

Seems there is more to it than I reckon.
I can't get Gudlor to say anymore to me after handing in the ring, nor does Sugnhild want to speak to me.
The only thing I can think of is that I have to finish the protect Huginfell quest first.
I shall try to finish this quest soon....

I went to Sugnhild and she asked outright for the ring, so I gave it to her. She then gave it back to me, with 40 silver and some exp.
I did the quest with a level 16 Huntress, Swift conned yellow to me, and she was right in front of Vindsaul Faste. I was going there on an errand task, and she was right there, just begging for it. I didn't watch what she was saying, though.

When I returned the ring she handed it back to me saying she didn't want it anymore. I guess there are different endings.

There are apparently some level/class impacts on these quests, or maybe just some recent changes. Me: 17 skald, and here's what happened. Talked to Sugnhild, completed her quest, got to keep the ring. Talked to Gudlor who gave me no new info on the completed quest but gave me the protect Huginfell quest. Completed this, but am not able to get the Redhands quest. I'm 18 now and still get nothing when I talk to Gudlor. Note that the helm you get for protecting huginfell is chain, which a skald cant use until level 20 if I remember correctly.

Well, I got the lovers revenge type part of the quest, but I can't seem to locate redhands. It say's to goto the blodfelag camp, there's like 6 or so camps. Anyone got any ideas where he's at?

Received this quest as a 15th level Thane. Got some friends to help out killing Swift. Got the ring...brought it back...got 40 SP, exp., and the ring. Not too shabby.

Gudlor has nothing to do with this quest. Just kill Swift, give Sugnhild the ring and you are rewarded with 40 silver, good exp, and she gives you the ring back. Nice ring, nice exp. Btw, got this a 16.

After I killed Thegn Aki and finished the Protect Huginfel quest, I walked back to Gudlor and he gave me the Living Warning quest which is the next part of the Lover's Circle quest.
Protect Huginfel quest note: Thegn Aki is in the Blodfelag camp past the Svartalf village. He is in the house with a caster and 1-2 other blodfelags. If your above lvl 20 get a caster or a hunter. He can pull the blodfelag guard who stands at the corner of the house and the others will aggro inside the house too, so you dont have to rush the whole camp, max 3-4 blodfelag will come out to die :) This method worked for me, at lvl 23 Aki conned green. Loot was Helm of the Aki, chain AF:34 abs:27% +4 quickness +3 charisma.
Hope this helps, please update if I missed something. I havent finished the Living Warning quest yet.

I got to keep the ring. She siad it wasn't a that important to her. Then i found Gudlor and spoke to him. He gave me a different quest called Protect Huginfel. He tells me to go kill Thegn Aki which is a blodfleg. He is at the Blodfelag camp that is down the westward road from the svartalf camp. It's the camp with the watch tower. Thegn Aki is inside the cabin that is on the SE side of the camp, closest to the tower. The cabin is guarded by many blodfelag. It might be a good idea to bring a group along to do this since the cabin has a lot of blodfelags outside of it and another handfull inside. I was able to pull him out with only one other blodefelag add. Barely lived but i did it. I received the Helm of the Aki. It cons yellow to me at lvl 19. It's chain armor w/ 34 AF 27% absorb and 100% quality. It also adds +4 quickness and +3 charisma, a good item for me since I'm a skald.. :) After killing him the quest is over. No need to run back to Gudlor. I didn't see this quest posted so I figured I'd tell everyone about it here since I ran into it doin the Lover's Circle quest.
