DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different [Step #1] Find Halena Edulan in the tomb raider camp in Salisbury Plains. Sister Elaydith at the Church in Camleot tells you the story of a battle between Lord Aryon or Avalaon Marsh and Morgana's evil armies. During a pitched battle, Lord Aryon was stabbed by a page with a poisoned dagger. The poison was designed not to kill Lord Aryon, but to leave him in a state of undead. It was actually Bishop Burhoff that betrayed Lord Aryon. He had charmed the page and then he opened the gates to Morgana's armies. With his last breath, Lord Aryon cursed Bishop Burhoff to suffer the same fate as he. One of Lord Aryon's knights bravely fought his way to Bishop Burhoff and sacrificed his own life to slay Bishop Burhoff. The ghost of Bishop Burhoff still haunts the ruins of the castle in Avalon Marsh, known as Dark Bishop Burhoff. One of the items that has been recovered from these ruins is a box that belonged to Lord Aryon that contains some important papers that were written by Lord Aryon and some even by King Arthur himself. Unfortunately the key to unlock the box was apparently stolen from Lord Aryon's grave by tomb robbers. The key is now believed to be in the possession of a tomb robber name Halena Edulan, who can be found in the tomb robber camp in the eastern part of Salisbury Plains. Before the key can be used to unlock the box you will also have to journey to the ruins of the old castle in Avalon Marsh and get a scroll to remove the wards from the box. The scroll you get from the undead remains of Lord Aryon, now know to the locals as Dread Lord Aryon, loc: 41k, 49k. -Halena Edulan- Once you zone into Salisbury Plains from Camelot Hills, there will be a river on your left. Follow the river away from the road, and after the broken bridge, veer to the right (west) until you come up on the tomb raider camp. There are a few camps along the shoreline, but they are a lot easier to avoid than the random wandering Salisbury Giants and Boars, and this way you don't have to circle around the entire plains just to get to where you want to be. -Dread Lord Aryon- Go into Avalon Marsh from Salisbury Plains, and continue on the road past Adribard's Retreat like you were going to Caer Wintrin. When the road forks the first time in Avalaon Marsh, veer left. A little ways down the road you'll see the broken church (looks similar to the manes demons area by the Prydwen bridge), and Dread Lord Aryon will be standing inside the ruins. This is the same castle you will have to go back to for the second quest to kill Bishop Burhoff, as well. Return both the key and scroll to the church. As a reward you are given a polearm weapon called Lifetaker. The next quest in this series is: Bishop Burhoff's Curse Note from Boudecca of Gaheris: On Gaheris - can be got anywhere from lvl 28-50. You do NOT get a Polearm called Lifetaker - which was the whole point of doing the quest. At lvl 50 you receive 40s (!!) and around 13m xp. For lvl 28 this reduces to 6m Reward: |

My L17 Wizard cannot get this quest. Tried to talk to Sister Elaydith, and no response. Any ideas as to why out there?

Since patch 1.75 i think moblevels in certain zones have been upped condiderably. Avalon Marsh is one of thise zones. Used to be a starterplace for Avalonian Acolytes and Fighters with lvl 1 mobs now the mobs are lvl 30 ish.
Unfortunately not all quests have been updated. Dread Lord Ayron is stil his old level, green to a lvl 21. But the surrounding knights, squires and water leapers are all purple/red.

Went to church no lord Aryon or Bishop only phantom knights and such kicked my butt big time at a lv 20. Does anyone know where he is at in the marsh. Never say him and searched both night and day.

For those of us who don't know Avalon Marsh like the back of our hands and prefer to use directions rather than loc, this is where I found both spawns:
-Halena Edulan-
Once you zone into Salisbury Plains from Camelot Hills, there will be a river on your left. Follow the river away from the road, and after the broken bridge, veer to the right (west) until you come up on the tomb raider camp. There are a few camps along the shoreline, but they are a lot easier to avoid than the random wandering Salisbury Giants and Boars, and this way you don't have to circle around the entire plains just to get to where you want to be.
-Dread Lord Aryon-
Go into Avalon Marsh from Salisbury Plains, and continue on the road past Adribard's Retreat like you were going to Caer Wintrin. When the road forks the first time in Avalaon Marsh, veer left. A little ways down the road you'll see the broken church (looks similar to the manes demons area by the Prydwen bridge), and Dread Lord Aryon will be standing inside the ruins. This is the same castle you will have to go back to for the second quest to kill Bishop Burhoff, as well.
Oh, and the earlier comments about how this quest is a waste of time.. it is only if you don't want a slashing polearm weapon OR the war hammer from the next quest. It would be nice if the rewards for this one were class specific, but since they aren't.. eh. Go figure.

umm, the reward is a slashing pole arm, so unless your a slashing pole arm amrsman, the reward will suck, but if you are a slashing pole arm armsmen, I dare you to find a better weapon at this point...

Cant find Lord Aryon went to castle but there was a Bishop there ? Does he spawn? Or am I in the wrong ruined castle.

Well I have just done the quest as a level 17 armsman. The lifetaker is an excellent weapon. It gives Dps 6.6 (far better than the steel halbert I was using) adds 3 to your strength and adds 2 to your polearm skill. It should be noted however it is a slash weapon so unless you are an Armsman with high Polearm/Slash skills its use is limited.

Im confused, pardon the n00b question here. I have an armsman I have maxed my polearms skill, if I put extra points into slashing will that help me do more damage with a polearm that has a slashing type head? I keep hearing that it does, but I dont see how it would...Please help a n00b out. Thank you :)

Raising Polearm raises your maximum damage, raising slash will raise your minimum damage and give you a smaller min-max window.

This is a pre requisite for the Quest given at Level 19 called the Bishop Burhoff's curse.
For a cleric to complete this quest at level 20 was very very tricky to solo. There are multiple wandering mobs from greens to Yellow and they are linked.

Where is the named Tombraider ? I spent all night searching every tomb mound I could find in Salisbury Plains and I can't find her(him) ?

She is not on any of the mounds, but in the camp.
Go east from the guard tower (near camp. forest), you will eventually see a camp with a few tents and a house.
Helana is standing at the tent in front of the house, at least that is where I found her.

This quest is a waste of time- and the lifetaker stats shown must either be pre-nerf or the stat picture was modified to some extent. The weapon is NOT 12.1 / 5.7... It is only 6.2 / 5.7 . Merchants sell better weapons and you dont have to travel all over and risk loot and limb to get it. It does contain buffs but they are modest at best. At any rate- Halena is in Salisbury plains 44k X 58K. And Dread Lord Aryon is in Avalon marsh 39k X 48k. Hopefully that will shave needless travel time off. The good news is you may be able to sell it to someone.

Are you cracked? This polearm is GREAT! With styles, my Armsman does some MAJOR damage with it. And the stat bonuses are great as well! If you've decided to go slashing polearm, do NOT pass this one up!
And merchants do NOT sell better weapons. Geez. The bonus alone is enough to tell you that.

did this quest as a Paladin and was very disheartened with the reward. I sent a message to Sanya telling this quest needs some fixing, only person who should get this quest is an armsman unless they change the reward.

You got exp yes? you got maybe some cash, yes? and got a weapon, albeit not something you could use, you could sell or trade with or make some cash off , yes? Why ***** and make rest of us loose another quest for freebie exp, money and item. Got to say that is the most moronic thing heard of. Anyways I do the quests and enjoy for shear chase to see what is the end- and I can say I have a friend that could use the pole to quite an advantage being also a guild mate- pathetic, next time think about what your saying rather than blurt out that it needs to go- out to be lucky it was there to even do- in the end you'll only short yourself out of freebie stuff and ***** about there isn't enough quest period- so be happy with what you can do and get even if it isnt what your looking for exactly!
