Bedelia's Grief

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Barnett's Shield is a prerequistite for this quest, please verify by posting below. Go to Barkeeps Dwerrav or Broec in Camelot who say that Bedelia was worried about her missing son. Here you find Bedelia greiving for the loss of her son Barnett. After talking to Bedelia, you get Bedelia's Grief quest. Her son was sent on a mission and killed. She hoped to get some of his personal belongings back. She will send you to talk to Sir Gleran in Humberton Keep and she gives you a portrait to give to Sir Gleran to prove you were sent by her. When you give the portrait to Sir Gleran, he explains that he has not had a man to spare to return the shield. He asks you to return the shield along with Barnett's sword. He told me that he wanted to return the kid's stuff, but he hadn't retrieved the shield yet. He believed it to be on some large rock trolls in N. Black Mountains. He also told me that as long as I was going that way, he would like me to kill Mootang, who was responsible for the boy's death, and return his head. When you return the shield and sword, Bedelia explains the sword was a family heirloom. With both her husband and son gone, she will give you the sword if you avenge her son by bringing justice to the one that ordered Mootang to goad Barnett into a fight; King Smugluk. You can find Smugluk at the goblin camp you found Mootang. So back I traveled to N. Black Mountains and the goblin camp. Another pair of my ice creatures were equal to the task and again I traveled to Camelot (by this time getting a bit saddle sore). I gave the king Smugluk's head to Bedelia and she rewarded me, alas, with Barnett's sword, a Bloody Short Sword. Reward: |

I have completed most of this quest long ago.......but am unable to find Bedelia again to give her the leather bag from Sir whatsisname......where the heck is the wench hiding?
well bartenders are sending me to the church instead of to bedalia and I cannot find her. I did the shield quest fine...the boulderlings are se not south and Mootang is sw...cross the road from swenson and hug the mt, going around...the camp is there
Bartenders tellyou of any unsolved quest you can do at your lvl and you havent done yet. I guess the guy that wrote up the quest description got Bedelias quest as his first when he talked to one of the bartenders. You dont have to talk to any bartenders to 'activate' this quest. Just talk to Bedelia after you 've done Barnetts Shield quest.Oh and since no one seems to mention it, and Allakhazam doesnt check quest writeups, you can find Bedelia IN Camelot city ( near a fountain, west of church /loc 30833, 16111) and not in Camelot hills.

Did barnett's shield at 13 (paladin) got the sheild but got killed by moogs minions. came back at 14 N.p. received the axe.

I did the Shield half at Level 15 Rejuve Cleric, no problems, going to get Kings head now, at Level 16, Oh, And I got the quest from Bedelia, with out going to anyone else first.

mootang spawns at goblins fortress in N black mountains, a lill way east from snowdonia station on a hill top.
if you just come there and pull him you'll get a full camp including king mystic and wargs.
the secret is to walk aroound the fortress. by the back wall you'll see a few rocks. jump on the top of them and mootang will come to you and will be alone or maybe will bring a couple of goblin warriors.
that way at lvl 13 I took them out easy, loosing like 5% health. just remember not to step on the fortress wall or mmystic and king will join the party.

if you did this shield mission you dont have to kill anything but Smugluk and thats easy at lvl 15 this. As a scout I was high up on mountains behind and got 6 shots off before the guy touch me!

Gerlan took the Picture but now the Quest does not contiune.
In the questbook i is the old information, that i have to give Gerlan the Picture. But i already gave it to him and i dont have it in my inventury.
what can i do ?

You're both playing a translated version (I'm guessing german), right? Well, I have the same problem. The source of the trouble is that the keyphrase [more to give] hasn't been translated in Sir Gleram's text, and the game is waiting for the translated version.
I tried dozens of possible german phrases that would fit the bracketed keyphrase, but none of them do anything.

As of 6/19:
1. Speak to Bedelia, she gives you portrait.

3. Return the shield halves and Mootang's head to Gleran, he gives you jagged axe and a bag for Bedelia.
4. Bedelia asks you to kill SMugluk and return his head.
5. Presumably (I went on to other quests) return Smugluk's head and Bedelia gives you the sword.

Should say you will not get this quest unless you have already done Barnetts shield.

im level 15 infiltrator but Bedeli wont give me the quest :( can anyone help, ive not done the shild quset.
I couldn't do this with my infiltrator at 14 or 15. Bedelia doesn't want to say anything to me.

Well, first it's nice to see the update of this quest to 15, cause you won't get it before, even though you can get Barnett's Shield Quest at 14.
Now Mootang cons blue at 14, but the real prob is being mobbed by the pesky wargs who, while they con green, spawn like crazy around the goblin camp.
At 14 Smuglik cons yellow, and easy task for any armsman worth his salt, but because you can't get Bedeila's Quest until 15, it just gets that bit easier.

I can't get the quest from any off the bartenders, im lvl 18 minstrel and have allready completed the barnett's shield quest!

Sir Gleran doesn't want accept the portrait given by Bedelia ...

I have the same problem but now sir gleran have the portrait and he don't talk anymore to me.

This quest starts at lvl 15. However, keep in mind that the first part of it, Barnett's Shield, you can do at lvl 13 or so, maybe 14. If you are a slash weapon user (and also a merc), DEFINATELY do the quest, as the reward is Jagged Axe (useable in left had).
If you did not do the Shield quest earlier, then you can still go to Bedelia at lvl 15 and you will have to get the shield first, and then smack the Smugluk, as described above.
