Note: This "quest" is not designed to work 100% of the time to the win with the spec's posted below. However the spec's posted is the way to win the race, you may have to try a few times.

Golden Pickaxe Trophy. Neat new small floor trophy for your house. How to get it:

Go to Catacombs and head to the Shar City. Once there, head west into the Abandoned Mine. A short run up the tracks will run you into Alirak. He talks to you about a race. Click his interactions to be teleported to a long track.

You'll find yourself in front of Track Master Dare. He runs the show. A short talk will reveal lots of options to choose from as to the cart you will be racing. Before you do, talk to Caekin next to him and buy one of each of all of his goods. They are Donation Voucher, 11 Point Cart Inspection, Scoop of Lucky Powder, and a Rusty Toolkit.

Now you are set. Talk to Dare and pick to customize your cart instead of just doing a blind run. You will have different options to choose from and only a specific combination will allow you to beat the record. The timekeeper at the end of the race tells you if you got any correct settings, but doesn't tell you which ones. Pick different combination's, there are a total of 6. Giving him the 4 items from Caekin improves your speed some.

You'll want to pick the (Small) cart, (Greased) Wheels, (Heavy) load, Keep your head (Down), Lean (Backward), and get a (Push) for a quick ride. Talk to the Timekeeper and the trophy is yours.
(You may, if you wish, hand a donation voucher to Engineer Ocein to grease the track for when you pass, but it is not necessary)
