Search For The Missing Smith

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different You get this quest from Odlran or Ewen outside of Guildhall (Palace) in TnN, he's in the court yard outside of entrance on the the right (oh btw if your a Ranger with goofy Quest bow, that always needs repairs, Morna in same area will repair it). step 1, talk to Sian in Mag Mell about Ewen, tell him Ceard is missing. You find the Missing Smith in the Cliffs of Moher, in the area past the Fogs where u can walk down to the beach on a long downward slope. Kill tasks are on the beach. After finding Ceard (loc=20014,29078, he does wander though) on the beach he seems confused and feels he had been robbed by a cliff dweller hunter (another path in this quest is that you may be told to kill a Cliff Dweller Spearman loc=8508,34948,1568), it will drop a nose ring which you must than take to ceard who claims it is not the right ring and gets more of his memory back. Ceard than mentions being hypnotized by Scaird a named tidal sheerie (/loc 4200, 42500 at the Cliffs of Moher). Killing Scaird gives you a cursed ring that has negative stats on it. Take the cursed ring back to Ceard again who tries the ring on breaking the hypnotization from Scaird but dieing from the curse on the ring. Take the ring back to Cleary the enchanter in Tir Uphost who removes the curse and returns to you the Otherworldly ring. Cleary than tells you to go and see Aideen in Ardee who was Ceard's girlfriend to tell her he is dead. Returning to Aideen completes the quest and she runs off crying over her loss. What the hell you guys are talking about ? the quest starts in TNN just next to the dye merchants. and also > after talking to Sian there a some steps to go before looking for the smith. you have to visit his girlfriend in Ardee, afterwards go to connla and speak with a friend of him Erskine. ask him "have seen ceard lately". after speaking to some merchants in Moher i also have to search for Ceard, but until now i havnt found him. 3 hours RL time was enough for me and maybe i look later for him.
Go directly west to the beach. I've had this quest with 3 toons and all of them found him with the cliff dwellers on the beach.

i have been up and down the water line looking for scaird a bunch of times and cant find him anywhere. im wondering if somthing is wrong with the game or im just doing somthing wrong. thamks for the help:)
I've found that you can /stick to the NPC and continue your conversation even while moving. This doesn't work with all, but did work for Ceard.
On the location, I followed the path posted by Morya ("25k,39k --> 29k,40k --> 6k,37k --> 19k,34k --> 25k,39k") and found him within a few minutes.

Best loc to find Ceard is 20014,29078 as he wanders back and forth over the dip between the two ridges there.
Instead of a Cliff Dweller Hunter, I was asked to kill a Cliff Dweller Spearman loc=8508,34948,1568
Currently I think quest is broken since I gave him his ring and that was it. Nothing happened. Journal didn't update etc...

Looked for Ceard along the path listed and on the beach. Anyone have any ideas where to find him?

What a crappy quest - took forever to find Ceard after completing every step of the quest but the worst part is when you click on him he wanders away before you get a chance to finish reading latest story line update...click on again and it's gone. Gave ring at the end and he poofed from dying so once again I couldn't read the story line...and now I get to go break the news to his girlfriend - what joy. I don't always read the storyline but it sure would be nice if wandering NPC would stand still when you "talk" to them so you could read the story IF you wanted to...what a waste of time, just wish I could have rated it lower - should be about -5.0

It seems he has a new area he roams and it is rather large.

I found Scaird the named Tidal Sheerie at /loc 4200, 42500 at the Cliffs of Moher, which is one of the southern most camps of Tidal Sheeries. He is not always there, I had to kill sheeries until he spawned, at night for me but not sure it matters.

The Quest starts with Ewen the Keen merchant in the TNN Craft area. However I finally found Ceard in the Cliffs of Moher and nothing happened to my questline...says the same thing as it did before I found him. Wonder if this is broken? :(

Couldn't get that quest with a Blademaster level 40. Or there's a pre-requiste quest to do before, or BMs are not allowed to do it.
All Odhran said is that he couldn't repair the weapon Cathbad gave me and that Nairna was the one to consult for that. However i haven't received any weapon from Cathbad yet.
