Personally I found Klippor pretty useful. I had been using a Steel Short Short and yes, the Klippor is noticably better. My weapon damage jumped by 90 points and the added skill in swords and parry is nothing to sneeze at. Also the Klippor is enchantable.
The stats look identical to that of a steel short sword, yes as with most material weapons, I'm sure there are hidden values.

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different *You must have completed Copious Striders quest first. Talk to Alomali (Vasudheim), Alomali will tell you to go see Lilib. Lilib is located inside the Fort right before you enter Dvalin. Lilib asks you to kill Klippa, a named crab that spawns just East of the Ant camp (the Ant camp is just East of the Fort you talked to Lilib in). There is a set of 2 crabs that spawn here just keep killing them until Klippa spawns (Klippa seems to spawn at night and seen in and around loc=21100, 51000). Lilib will tell you to go across the bridge to find Klippa but this is wrong, just stick to the 2 spawn crabs near the ant camp. After you have killed Klippa you will have Klippa's Claw in your inventory. Return Klippa's Claw to Lilib and you will recieve a short sword named Klippor as your reward. Alomali says, "Hail! I have [news] for you." You have been given the Klippa's Claw quest. Alomali says, "There is a smith to the west that I know well. I have asked him if he could make a special item for you. He says he is [willing]." Alomali says, "Aye, he goes by the name of Lilib. Seek him out and tell him I sent you." {Step #1] Speak to Lilib. Tell him Alomali sent you. You say, "Alomali sent me." Lilib ponders for a moment. [Step #2] Locate Klippa and kill her. Return quickly so as to bring Lilib the still fresh claw. You may be asked to kill Riv, Klippa's mate, who spawns across the water from Klippa on an island. The reward for this is the Riva, a chain tunic. Found Klippa at 20.900 and 51.000 at 7.40 PM. (another Klippa loc=16170, 47453 around 4:45am) Found Riv at 20.500 and 46.000 at 10 PM. lvl 11 received 7,240 experience. \n |

Ok tried to get the chain mail and didnt wait long enuff got a nearly useless sword for my lvl 12 warrior. It's less than 4 damage what use is that?!?! So does anyone know if there is a way to do the second part anyway? Is it possible if you messed up and didnt wait long enuff can you still get the tunic by killing second crab?

If you allow Klippa's Claw get a couple days old game time and then try turning it in he will say this isnt good enough, hunt down Klippa and Riv once more. This time instead of Klippa dropping the claw Riv will and you'll get a very nice chain jerkin with 30ac on it

I waited two rl days and turn the claw in and got the sword. It must be actuall game time that we have to wait.
Really not to happy that my Thane didn't get the second part and we can't sell the sword. Oh well, good item to give away I guess, except everyone i know uses an axe or hammer :)

I am lvl 14 Thane and I tried to get this quest multiple times however it was never given to me. This leads me to conclude that Thanes cannot do this quest (ironically when hunters and others who cannot use chain armor can).
If you have the chain armor on Iseult server drop a tell to Minime (troll Thane) and maybe we can arrange a trade or something.

OK so you wiat 1 to 2 RL days. How much time logged in do you wait before handing in the claw. seems like one other post says they died then turned in the claw right away and got the second part. Perhaps there is some other thing that we need to do to get the chain shirt. Being a Thane I really want this item.

Wait about 1.5 to 2days RL time, and then try to hand in the claw, this will trigger the 2nd part of the quest where you have to kill Riv (sp) who spawns right where Klippa does.. this will get you an awesome bp/tunic thingie. Please do this leg of the quest if you can wear chain armor.

I found Klippa Green to me at 12 and never saw her mate. as soon as i killed her i ran back and got a +1sword,+1parry.

I finished this quest as a Spiritmaster. Also received Klippor as reward.

I was given this quest as a healer, don't know what the outcome yields though, was looking for Klippa across the bridge. Thanks for the advice on the correct location from all who posted.

Go to where the army ants are... head towards the water to the north east... hang out there until dusk/dawn and Klippa will spawn.

is there a quest that needs to be done before this? i'm a lvl 12 troll warrior, can't even get the quest.

As a 11th level hunter I tried this quest. I killed klippa but her partner riv killed me. After releasing I immediately went to Lilib and turned in the claw but he told me that the claw was not fresh enough to seek out riv and return his claw. So back to the spawn site and waited there for two days for riv to show up with klippa. Killed klippa many times but Riv did not show up. I found you have to not kill Klippa until Riv shows up. Riv will come running from the island near the spawn site once Klippa is attacked and if you kill Klippa too soon he will run back to the island. I turned Riv's claw into Lilib and got a chain shirt ac 30 absorb 29% qual 100%. Thought this was funny due to being a hunter I couldn't wear chain so it is sitting in my bank right now. The armor is called riv.

I don't think this is warrior only i received the quest and I am a shadowblade. Though i have yet to kill klippa.
