So I have a question about this upcoming nerf to the Left Axe skill, they are reducing our damage output, by what i have heard from 30%-50%. Now has anyone done testing on pendragon to find out if this affects all left axe styles, also does this include the damage inflicted normally not doing a style? Because my LA skill is higher than my axe skill my LA does more damage on a normal hit is that going to decrease as welll.
Just wondering if the slvl 44 skill is worth it with the followup from snowsquall. I know I use snowsquall pretty much in PvE, but is it worth all the points? I mean - the best thing about it is the long duration bleed, but thats normally only about 10 points a tick that does. So - anyone has it and can say anything about it? It's gonna decide wether I'm going 39 axe/44 LA or 42 in both.
Now does the Hammer/LeftAxe-combo the same damage as the axe/leftaxe-combo ???????? Please a definitive answer - need no help in skilling my berserker ! the question is :is hammer/leftaxe equal to axe/leftaxe ?
left axe is a skill all it's own, you dont need a prerequisite skill .. ie. axe, sword, hammer ... i have a lev 30 'zerker, 30axe and 30 L axe, i thought damage depended on the primary skill .. it didnt .. i placed a sword and a hammer in primary hand and did same damage as axe, with no sword or hammer skill. the damage you do is dependant to what you fight.
hammers= plated .. ie. insects, armsmen in platemail, skellies ... axe and sword= animals, leather, studded leather ... we have no piercing / thrusting weapons, so will always have minuses to chain mail. hope this helped ... Talix PitRunt, dwarven berzerker on tristan
I can remember checkin out this board when i was low level trying to figure some stuff out with my zerk and wishing that a high level character would come and explain it all. Now I've recently hit lvl 50, and feel that It'd be good to educate everyone seeking answers about the zerk. First off, as of recently in patches and updates, your right hand and left axe damage are calculated independently, so you can spec hammer/lefaxe or sword/leftaxe instead of axe/leftaxe. I went axe/leftaxe because most axes you find can give bonuses to leftaxe and axe, and also the combination of two of them can easly cap your plus-to axe and leftaxe. Right now with epic armor i have all my vital stats capped, and my skilly capped. str is capped near 220, con at about 170, dex at 140, and quickness at 110, this will vary depending on what you started out with,(Im a troll, bc more str is crucial for damage) and whether you put realmpoints into augment stats. the most you can have plus to a skill is +10, but then you can go over with realm ranks, so currently my axe/leftaxe are both at 63 (50+13). As far as strategies for leveling go's i think its pretty simple, just get in a good group, you can task till 20, that takes hardly anytime, but no matter what class you are the best exp comes from a full group. I recomend the dungeons, nisse 10-20, vendo 20-30 spind 30-40 and then DF for 40-50 or even metter malmohus in the dragon's lair. As far as equipment goes, epic armor is certainly the best, and I use two DF axes, which I will replace with legion drops as soon as i can organize a raid. For rvr zerk's are ridiculously good, our damage output is unrivaled by any melee class in any other realm, I can hold my own in any evenly matched battle, and one on one I am almost always guarenteed to win, I can solo archers, heroes, armsmen, casters, pretty much anything unless the circumstances are bad, (such as mez). For realm skills I highly recomend ignore pain, it's always there to save your life when you really need it, the rest put into purge/determination or tireless for some energy regen. the damage ad's are pretty bad, the only one i would go with is mastery of pain, bc crit hitting is crucial. I'll end with a few tips, try using a slow high-damage weapon in your right hand, and a quick weapon in ur left, this results in high damage comeing at a quick rate bc of the averaged speed's of the weapons and can ultimately increase your damage output drastically. In rvr or in groups, GET WITH A SKALD!!! speed is crucial in rvr, and a skald's damage add works twice bc of dual weild for us, the combo is insane and unbeatable. save zerking untill you know u can beat on him, it's unwise to zerk b4 ur actually beating someone bc u might get mezzed which ruins your fun. If you have to, zerk on a caster if hes nuking everyone, you can drop him one hit without a question. try to travel with healers that can mez, it makes battles easier and you can pick off ppl one by one. as a zerk your good at killing people fast and effeciently, your not the best at taking damage tho, so its a hit and run strategy, get your business done fast or your toast. I'll end by saying good luck, and stick with it, zerks are a great class to play. -Grumper, lvl 50 berzerker, Morgan Le Fey
Hi i'm a 38 Zerker and i think that skill is a Hight dom ? isn't it ? Because when i use that skill i have a great bonus on yellow mob ( +111 ) but the price to pay is the hight fatigue cost :-(
hi i'm a 12lev shadowblade, i found a magical axe +2 to axe comp does this bonus apply to left axe competence ? or do i have to find an axe with +2 Left Axe ?
The Axe + 2 only applies to your Axe skill - to bump your Left Axe you need to find an item that specifies Left Axe + X. I think the Garou Axe has this bonus... try using one of the magical item databases to find where they drop (sorry, I don't know of one offhand)
You can use any axe that has the little message "usable in left hand".
My main thing was with the posts of anonymous that said, "If your skill is 0-49% you do blah blah...."
I was wondering if this has anything to do with how much you hit! I have a 39 zerker and after a few patches ago I miss ALOT with my right axe. My left axe skill is: 39 my right axe is 30. I am really confused why I am missing so much, I tried to do an appeal BUT they said I just suck (not exact quote but that was the jist of it)
Anyone help me out here before I try and max right axe to only find out I was missing for some bizzar reason?
Am I correct in assuming that the only way to wield 2 weapons at once in Midgard is if you have access to Left Axe? (ie. no dual wielding hammers, swords, etc.)
Polar light (lv8 style) never showed up for me although Frost Shadow did (which require PL for the opening). Anyone else seeing the same? Was there some change since PL opens off a parry and we don't train parry? (thought I read somehting about this) Thanks.
I have a question for higher lvl berserkers: I make a berserker with axe/left axe combo, my dam on both hands is about equal and very decent. Then I make a hammer/left axe combo without putting points into main axe, and my dam output with same weapon as offhand decreases dramatically at same level. My conclusion: main axe skill determines dam output of left axe, and useing anything else in main hand then an axe is waste of points, since you have to buy axe anyway, so that your offhand doesn't suck. I haven't examined this thoroughly, but is it true? I want answers from people that have tried both, if you only try one of options, you can't notice the difference. thank you.
There was a great post on another site which answered this question quite effectively... It was a lengthy answer but, I will try to sum it up here:
your main weapon (axe, hammer, sword) skill determines the damage range that you will do with that type of weapon as follows:
If your main weapon skill = 0-49% of your class level then your damage output = 0-100% of the weapons damage
If your main weapon skill = 50-74% of your class level then your damage output = 50-100% of the weapons damage
If your main weapon skill = 75-99% of your class level then your damage output = 0-100% of the weapons damage
If your main weapon skill = 100% of your class level then your damage output = 0-100% of the weapons damage
Left Axe skill gives you a fixed damage bonus of 7.5% per weapon when using two weapons (regardless of skill level), plus it determines the additional damage bonus you will do as follows:
Damage bonus = one half your Left Axe skill
Left Axe Skill of 30 = 30/2 = 15% damage bonus
My conclusion: main weapon skill does determine your damage output (damage range) of your off-hand weapon... and, since we (berzerkers) can only use axe in off-hand then in your case (hammer/axe) since you put point on Axe (as main weapon) and not Hammer (I presume) your damage output will be dramatically decreased, not due to your Left Axe skill but, rather due to your lack of high Hammer skill.
Advice: Max out Axe skill and keep your Left Axe Skill at or above 75% of you class level. This will maximize your damage output and take advantage of the damage bonus as well. Stay clear of any other weapon skills until there is more clear guidance from Mythic.
My question is: is there a relationship between Left Axe and Axe skills? I mean, does your Axe skill affect your Left Axe ability, or are they separate? Anyone know?
I did a little test yesterday and it seems the increasing Axe skill does not increase damage or chances or hitting... It looks like that is level based?
Couple reasons why you should spec Left Axe as high as possible: A) It has the best styles of any spec in the game. B) It increases overall damage while dual wielding based on skill.
I believe that the more points you pump into this skill, the better the weapons you can use. I am useing a bearded axe in my left. Anyone you else know more?
The first 3 weapons a merchant sells that are 1 handed can be used in your left hand. i strongly suggest not buying from merchants and buying from players the player made are way better and the same price or less. Also for berserkers you want the lowest delay possible and you want both of your weapons to have the same spd so you will miss less.
Does anyone know of a list of axes that can be used with left axe? Also, does anyone know if when you right click on an axe in a merchants inventory if it tells you that it can be used in the left hand?
I have a bronze war axe in my left hand right now and when I right click on it it says it can be used in the left hand. However I think I tried this in a merchants inventory to see if it was the same and it wasn't. I don't know if it was not exactly the same axe. It said bronze war axe.
Anyone have some experience with this that they would like to share?
