Questline ConfusionFollow

I have tried searching everywhere for an answer to this question but I can't seem to find it.

1) I know that you can switch classes but does this mean that you can play each class storyline? For example, I'm starting as an LNC to ultimately become a DRG but I heard the the PGL storyline is way better. Can I play both the LNC and PGL storyline?

2) Finally, does every character in the game have the same main storyline? e.g. non-class based ones but the one with collecting crystal shards etc.

What Karlina said, but with a big BUT:

Lancer to Dragoon is the only class quest that feeds directly into the Heavensward/expansion storyline. So even if you go and explore other classes and experience them, I highly recommend completing DRG to 50 before starting the expansion stuff. You can always go back and complete PUG/MNK later; DRG is the only one that has a genuine spoiler in it that makes the class quests really awkward to do after reaching 60.

sooo what im a missing if ive never levels lnc past 30?

One of the major Heavensward characters plays a large role in the DRG 30-50 story (you can probably guess who) and there are occasional references to things that happened during the DRG quests.

I leveled DRG as my first 60 (seemed appropriate) and it was kind of funny realizing that some of my FC mates had no idea who that guy was when he first showed up in Heavensward.
