Get your invasion gear ready there's another planet to conquer, here's some info on it.

It's nice they finally found something earth-sized, especially since there was a paper that came out not too long ago that suggested that anything much bigger than Earth was likely destined to become a gas giant. Something like 1.2 earth masses or larger? I'd have to find it again, either way they were pretty pessimistic about these "super-earth" things. On the down side though, it is some 500 light years away, so the travel time will be a bit long. Also, it's just on the edge of where it would become tidally locked to the star, meaning one side gets to be way to hot and the other way too cold. So it might not be worth the trip in the end. That and it may well be an ice ball since it's nearer to the outer edge of the habitable zone for the star. All sorts of stuff like that. Still once you can find one that size more are sure to follow.

Wouldn't that be Earth?

You forgot to mention the potentially deadly radiation from the star it's spinning around because it's a red dwarf.

And the potential for civil war over the color of hats at the hot dog stand.

Great, so if this global warming thing doesn't work out, we can try again on someone else's planet.

But what if everything there has evolved specifically to kill Humans?
