I don't like working out in the morning. I'm always more congested, I'd much rather work out in the evening. Doing that also forces me to eat properly to be ready to work out, which is another plus.

I learned from playing the Sims that I could get into shape pretty easily without ever leaving home using a jump rope.
I had one for a while. My stepdaughter left it in the living room one day. Unfortunately it was very badly designed and frequently trapped/pinched the fingers of everyone who used it with its bright pink plastic corkscrew shaped handles, so my wife threw it away while I was sleeping. At this point it doesn't really feel like a worthwhile investment to go out and buy a real jump rope.

For some reason I always end up with short turnip looking carrots. There are literally no rocks in the area I am growing them in for 4 feet in any direction, it's got it's own watering system, I fertilize them, and everything else grows great. But not the carrots. No idea why.

My carrots were like this too! Short, squat, bitter little things. Before planting each season, I would till the ground under several times with a good fertilizing soil. This north Texas dirt is very dense and clay-like so I would constantly have to keep the soil cultivated which is very hard to do when something is planted there!
I'm ok with stumpy carrots. I've tried growing carrots the last two years with little to no yield at all. I bought some good seeds. I'm hoping they'll make the difference.
I originally had pretty intense goals to hit by summer, but major surgery on the 2nd and 8 days in the hospital, then recovery, pretty much ensured that didn't happen. 4 months later and I'm finally hitting the strength levels I was at pre-surgery, so we'll see what happens. Right now, I weigh about 175, but my body fat percentage is around 14%. I'd really like to get that down to like 11/12% (preferably staying at about the same weight level, but just losing fat). That's a really intense goal, though. If I can get down to 13% and gain lean mass at the same time, I'll call it a win.

Good to hear your recovery from surgery is going well!

I would have to get up at 4 AM, which would leave me a zombie the rest of the day. Due to work, that is not an option.

The thought of going to the gym after work is unbearable, and I don't know how people do it.
You're not leaving yourself many options. Can you take time during the workday to work-out?
Only Monday mornings, and only if 2nd grade P.E. counts as workout.
Might start post-work workout once I get into a proper work routine, but right now I feel like I've been up all week when I get home from work. Enjoying a beer in front of the computer/TV just sounds like much better use of my limited free time.

I'm one of the insane ones that workout in the morning, typically before 5:30 a.m. I do it to get it out of the way. If I slept in (or just surfed on my tablet in bed for too long), I'll at the very least do a 5 minute session of burpees and bodyweight moves. I've generally been lucky enough that my weight isn't a health issue and losing any weight is more for my vanity.
Now, what I really want to do is finish up decorating my house, prettying up the yard and finish NaNoWriMo this year.
A long time ago, my high school had a Physical Fitness team. There was only one annual event, held at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY, and it was run by the U.S. Marines.
Five different exercises, all without rest in between: 100 bent-knee sit-ups in two minutes, then immediately to 60 push-ups untimed (two marines, one with his hand under your chest yelling "Yes" or "No" depending on if your chest touched his hand or not and the other making sure your back was straight and yelling out the count - it got real when you heard the same number over and over again), then immediately to 26 Squat Thrusts timed, but I don't remember how long - may have been 90secs (again, a marine watching to see if your thigh touched your calf or not, if your back was straight on the kick-out, and if you stood up straight), 30 pull-ups with palms over the bar in two minutes, and then run five times around two cones 60 yards apart which was timed, but I don't remember how.
Can't believe I was once able to do that.
