How many of you actually go out and get the teleport crystals?
Do you guys ever see people that are level 30+ and only have one crystal? Shouldn't this be one of the important to-do things on the list or is getting the crystals something that can be put on the backburner?
Last night I was trying to put together a party for Western Altepa Desert, and out of 6 people, 3 didn't have the Altepa crystal, and 1 had only the Holla crystal. Needless to say it took about 40 minutes to get everyone together.

I posted on my LS website if anyone needs to get crystals than can ask... Its not that hard really... I made Miss Nuku get her 3 basic crystals as soon as she had choco. Ya know, Dem, Holla and Mea you never know when these will come in handy
ok say by level 20 you _should_ have the 3 primary crystals since you will be leveling in the dunes, and mea is only a quick boattrip away (ssssh don't tell them it's like 15mins).
As for the other 3, 2nd Jungle can be forgotten.. getting to that is a *****. Altepa, people get more often since alot more parties are leveling in Altepa these days.
And the Vhazl (sp?) don't ask :P heheh.. but I know what you mean, they should have atleast all of the 3 main ones.

Hehehe, when I first started playing I had no idea what they were. Heck, I didn't learn about the subjob quest til I was about level 20 and someone asked me why I didn't have a subjob and I asked them what the bloody hell a subjob was. Then my dear friend Owo explained to me genkai 1 in broken English... not to mention my AF1 quest to Xarcabard (where in the bloody world was that?!?)!!!
Hehe I'll always remember the first time I went to Altepa with a Japanese party as my WHM, we were going to Quicksand Caves. All the rest of them had crystals but I didn't and the leader of the party was kind enough to get a chocobo with me (I didn't even have rank 5 yet!!!) and we rode all the way to Bastok and then there. And our only form of communication the whole way: {Please use the auto-translate function}

I admit I was about lv 14 before I actually got the Holla and Mea crystals. Starting in Bastok, of course I had Dem. Thankfully, I've always had wonderful, supportive Linkshell friends, and they helped me to get the Altep, Yhoat, and Vazhl crystals.

Well, one thing to remember is many players don't even USE teleport services until they are lvl 36 and the WHM in their PT can perform the teleport. When I was first lvling in the dunes I remember kind of enjoying the ferry (sick fisher that I was, er am). Not only that, it can be sometimes hard to find a tele in the 3 nations and it just saves time to just go on foot or choc rather than yell for 30 min or so hoping a tele service will show. I would venture a guess that many people get their Kazham Airship Pass before they get all three basic teleports (Mea, Dem, Holla). It just didn't become clear to me how useful it is to tele until much later in my game....maybe I am just slower than most! (btw--I do by now have all the tele crystals, although I still havent ever NEEDED that damn Yhoat crystal I died getting....but thats another story).
You know what's really annoying tho, is laziness and teles. I was in Port Windurst last week and heard someone offer 1500G for a Tele-Mea. I mean COME ON! He was yelling for 15 minutes, he could have WALKED there in that amount of time. It's one thing to go clear across the map, but from Windy to Kolshushu? And for 1500G? Sheesh lol.

The moment i hit 32, i headed out to get tele-altepa with a few from my LS. yes we died a few times in the process, but it was well worth it.
I see a lot of people from varying level ranges taking advantage of the teleports. You guys made some good points.
The crystals are important in situations like these, and not getting them can really hinder a party. I hope people will get out there and get all the crystals possible. I have all of them except Vazhl.
So if anyone needs help getting the others (yes I do know exactly where the Yhoat crystal is ^^), send me /tell Tzipporah, and I will be happy to take you.
I tend not to party in the Crawler's Nest, so I spend a lot of time in Altepa. I figure that the more we can get people the Altep crystal, the less time we wait getting the party together. Hell, even WHMs can earn some gil for teleports. In the end, we can bring more people to this area so that we won't turn CN into another Garlaige Citadel.
So if you need help, look me up.
