I'm getting close to level 30 whm (finally ^^) and I wanted to know if Lakshmi would like another brd or bst, reply your preference so I can choose which job to play first. TYIA

Do what you want.... We always need a BRD, a BST a PLD, a RNG whatever fits your want.

More parties in the same zone: Fewer mobs for everyone else.
BSTs have the nice ability to EXP anywhere, even places that foolish herd-mentality players would never dream of going.
However, as a BST, you can expect a lot of grief from other players, who will view you as an outsider, competing with them, taking from them, and may sometimes be given little respect.
Bards are sought after in most experienced groups, though before 20, you may encounter some parties who don't really understand what you do, and don't know what to expect of you.
In far later levels, people will chop off their right arm to have a bard in the party.
I'm right handed, i won't be chopping off that arm!
I think you should ask yourself a question before you decide.
Are you a very social, or secluded person?
If you are a very social person, pick BRD, you will be unhappy as a BST, and likely get easily bored with it.
If you are a secluded person, pick BST. You'll be ok spending a lot of time by yourself, and can still occasionally pick up a party for the bit of time you feel the need for socialization.

I personally recommend trying both--they are very different playstyles as has been mentioned. Why not play both? Then you get the great double benefit of a) when you want to PT you can play BRD and never have to wait with your flag up for hours and b) when you just wanna solo you can go out as BST and tear things up by yourself like no other job can. Best of both worlds. Even better, both work great with a WHM support job so you don't have to lvl two different support jobs for them.
