The first time I ever saw a Ballista, I nearly had a attack it was so cool looking. I took a buncha SS too. Anyway, once reaching lvl 30 drk, I got my license, and participated in my first Ballista a couple weeks ago. Ooh wow, I had so much fun. But me, personally, I dont like the whole game aspect of Ballistas.. I just like to beat people up. =D Those of you who participate in Ballistas, Im just curious do you guys like the game or pvp better?

I just got to lvl 30 with BLM and I can't wait to get my Ballista license. I'm sure the game aspect will be fun just so you have a specific goal, but I know I'm going to enjoy nuking people. ^_^
what is the goal exactly, i have my license and everything )=, and im level 50, and i havent done one yet, cant find the time i guess... whats the objective of ballista?
The object is to score as many "Petras" into a "Rook" as possible. In order to throw a petra into a rook, you have to kill someone and get a gate breech. I'm not a big fan of the game itself, but it's still fun. I enjoy more beating on people(even though I spend a lot of the time dead or dieing cause of those rng/nins) Oh well! I love doin Ballistas.
Although I had been itching for some player killing, it's the competition of the game that's the real fun. You can get some good team-work and tactics going and end up obliterating the other side.
One of the best tactics seems to be moving around in a big 'rape-squad' and picking off individual players to get your gate breach.

It's PvP.
It's fun when your team is winning but lame when you're losing... Overall, it's insanely fun from my experiences when you're a THF/DRK and take out a huge portion of an opponent's life with: Sneak Attack+Soul Eater+Dancing Edge or
Sneak Attack+Trick Attack+Soul Eater+Hide+Dancing Edge (Forgot to take a screenshot of it but it took out a DRK/THF in one swoop.) in front of a team member when he/she's battling someone.

The most fun I've had in Ballista, and in the game in general. Was when my LS had a Ballista, and we were the only ones there. We had some duels and proceed with the carnage, great times ^^
