Ok i have been unable to log on for about a week now. I do not understand why. i ran the option to check for corrupt files and everything was ok. I checked the information section and there are currently no maintaince scheduled. I play Ps2 by the way.
Everytime i try to log on it takes forever to check the playonline Id, Password and DNAS. Eventually it starts to bring up the playonline viewer but it seems to stall when "Checking online status." and eventually brings up an error message with various pol error numbers. sometimes it doesnt happen to its checking pol mail, or the flist. If anyone knows anything i would be greatly apreciative as i have an ingame deadline for something and if i can't get online with in 2 days i won't be able to meet it and me and a very special lady will be very sad and giftless for valentines day >< any help or info is welcome thank you

was about to post a thread about this. im on ps2 and mine just started doing the same thing, its stuck at the checking mail message right now. started about an hour ago and its kinda frusterating, but not being able to get on for a week, that would be a little worse XD
Oh my, that's really upsetting. If you both are on ps2 and getting this error, it makes me worry since I'm on a ps2 as well. Did either of you contact Playonline over this? If worst comes to worst, maybe reformatting your hard drive and reinstalling everything could help. But since that's an absolute nightmare, what with deleting screenshots, mail, map markers, and macros, its not an attactive solution, nor a reliable one

Poor Fortex! Now I see why you haven't been on much in recent days.
I am not sure why this is happening to you, but I've seen other players posting similar issues immediately post-patch. Does this affect your regular online activities as well as PlayOnline? It really sounds like the times when my cable connection just starts to drop.

I see various FFXI connection issues being posted there. Perhaps you can browse through it and see if any of those matches the issues you are experiencing.
