I know Sorik, he's leveling Blacksmithing or whatever his latest kick is. My guess is he wanted Goblin Mail or Helm or whatever. But yeah, he should have done that in Bubu.

I know Sorik too, and he's a very nice guy. He probably wasnt tryin to MPK, just do a few -ga spells on a massive train.

Ya know. I'm a long time reader of these forums, but this is my first post. Sorik and I are in the same LS, and it just so happens that I'm the reason he is farming gobs. Ya see, I'm gonna desynth some gob stuff for him so he can make some cash. So yes, he was farming.

However, I felt compelled to post in this thread, b/c I don't want someone spreading false rumors about a friend. Don't get me wrong, I don't always agree with some of the things he says, but hey, that's Sorik !

Do yourself a favor, before you start posting allegations of MPK, get the facts first. Did you see him actually train on someone? No. Is he the first Blm ever to farm with -ga spells on huge trains? No. As a lvl 74 Pld, I'd think you show more insight, rather than go "OMG, he was mean to me! I know, I'll call him a MPKer on the forums!"

Are the Dunes the best place to farm gobs? Not really. But if he wants to farm there, that's his decision. I'm sure you wouldn't exactly be the nicest person if someone was messing with your farming either. Just thought I'd bring it up.

I just quoted myself :P

I'm not saying you should have just "taken it" and said nothing. I'm just saying that calling him a MPKer without seeing it for yourself in a public arena, was not the way to deal with it. Especially posting something like this based on nothing but heresay.

If someone sent a tell to me of the manner of the one you sent him while I was busy farming, I'd probably make some sort of sarcastic comment too. Doesn't mean I'm actually going to MPK them...

I believe it is a common curtesy to keep train-farming out of sight and out of the way of leveling players. I've seen large trains break off due to the trainer running too fast (NIN at night with AF, THF Fleeing just to get a bigger train, player lagging and warping around), and the scattered mobs start to wander all over and showing up unexpected at wrong places.

I was partying at G.Citadel the other night, right down the broken floor and near the stairs. We were on chain 5 when some player trained at least 6 bats and 2 beetles over our camp. The player was pulling away a link from a lower level party but ended up linking everything else in the upper level and ran down the stairs with a massive chain. He kept running and we thought we were cleared, then all but one bat stopped chasing that player. Then the mob of bats and beetles aggoed us and linked up with a funnel bat, killing our puller. Yes, training things is dangerous, and mobs do stop chasing people after awhile, given no hits were connected.

Any movement of mobs from one place to another should be handled with care. In this case, strong words were used by both sides. It is like two people pushing and shoving each other, which often ended up in fights. Some politeness from both sides go a long way.

If someone I know does such things, I would not come here and defend that person. Because what was said was indeed not something to be taken lightly. If I am helping some lower levels and all the sudden a huge train comes, I would be tense and nervous too. Of course nothing is going to happen to me, but all my time of helping would be wasted if they happen to get caught with a broken train.

I hope a GM call was made and the player was reported for making MPK threats. As a general rule, nobody is more "noob" than the person using that word.

Heh, I remember that, I was there semi-PLing this group (it's tough to really PL a group of 48-50s when you're level 48 yourself, heh). The RNG in your group was pissed to all hell, ranting and raving the whole time you had {Connection Lost}. I threw out Diaga to grab some of the bats (Diaga is NOT useless dammit, it is the ultimate ***-saving spell!), ran some distance away, and Warped like a sissy. I wasn't aware that anyone died though... shucks. :7

But yeah, it's generally not a good idea to accuse people of MPKing until you actually see them try it... just because someone's got a ton of aggro mobs on his *** doesn't mean he's trying to kill someone with it.

Whether or not the Dunes goblins are "worth it" to mass-farm is not something for you to decide. If he's high enough level to survive it, he's got the right to do it. Sure, it may be impolite to some and cause lag and whatnot, but it does not justify throwing out accusations without evidence.

In defence to Sorik I shouldn't post because I am his wife but instead of defending him I'll give you my story in the dunes.

I'm PLing my LS in the dunes weeks ago the puller brings gob agro. I grab the agro and make way to the zone and get a bunch of shouts on the way people calling me names and such. The point of the matter is:
1.)I was saving that party from certian death.
2.) the people shouting had no idea what was going on but felt the need to stick their nose in it.

So my reply to this thead is mind your buisness unless harm falls on your feet!

Well, at least he didn't pull Marchelute (was I even close to spelling that right?) down to the konschat zone. Anyone remember that? lol, it was pretty histerical watching him peg folks dead in one hit with his bow. Good thing the army of 75's came and saved the day (anyone know how they keep doing that? It's like they're some omnicient being... Or maybe they're watching us... watching us right now...)

Well if you don't know me by now my name is Sorik.

I would like to enlighten you to FACTS of this story and not the heresay of ONE person.... A couple days ago my LS friend made me aware of a way to make good fast gil. Desynthing Goblin items. So where better to farm a big train of gobs for a high lvl blm than the dunes. Yea, im not denying that i didnt have a nice sized train going my last count before the false accusation (1 person = Darklink) was about 20.

Now i know that I can take out about 45 gobs or so in 3 ga spells or less. I know this b/c i have do it before. I actually got a lot of compliments on my train. So as im collecting a few more gobs before i totally annihilate them i get a tell asking "what the **** are you doing!". and in reply to this and told him to sftu and mind his own business... i was hurting anyone, no one died, no one took dmg or anything. i couldnt have a broken train due to the fact i was waiting every so many secs for them all to catch up. Doesnt sound broken to me surrounded in a pool of gobs but anyways. Darklink then accusses me of MPKing someone....

Now im a straight right out player... i believe in ppl geting along and the likes or i wouldn't have started my own LS and have abour 55 members in it so far if i wasnt. (http://thekounelite.tk) so anyways i told him i was farming from the get go and he still accused me of mpking even tho no one was dead or anything. I have never been more pissed since starting playing this game. Im a blm and you all know how expensive it is to maintain one...(if u have played blm b4). Someone comes to you and says "Easy fast gil" u woulld do anything u could to get it right. RIGHT.

so the point of this story is unless u know wuts going on u shouldnt make false accusations(a) keep your ur nose outta peoples business(b) and dont worry about it unless someone was to die b/c of my error. It is not my intention to mpk someone just make a lil gil for a poor blm... WHATS THE HARM.

P.S. AND DARKLINK ..... thank you for trying to turn one of my friends against me (Cattirbrie)(Clavixis). Due to you she came at saying u were spouting lies about i said something about SoV. Well now i am ... if ur the kind of ppl in that ls then ur ls is full of liars... get ur stories right before u go spouting off at the mouth!!

No, I don't care. It's the linksell's rep at risk, not mine.

And it's good you could care less. But if you do, why reply?
