LTB: one good PT (rant)Follow

Is it just me or is everyone having this problem around 25-30? I can't for the life of me find a PT worth anything. Even when I get tells like "PT? Got PL" I still end up getting killed. And it's not my fault! Ever hear this one? Only voker in pt "RNG you hold aggro with damage good. I'm not voking anymore."? wtf is that? I get that all the time in the jungles. Yeah, I do a pretty fair amount of damage with my gun and stuff, but I'm a friggin glass cannon. I've got 100 defense... I can't take a hit from an IT anything! Seriously people, when you're in a PT, think of the role your job should be playing in that PT, and stick with it. If you can voke, and your puller, healer, whatever has the aggro, VOKE DAMN YOU! I guarantee you'll fare better as the tank than a RNG With 100 def with protect2. You'll definately tank better than the poor WHM that cure3'd to keep said RNG from dying. And I swear, if I see one more SMN summoning Carbuncle every time a mob is incoming, I'll puke. That's how you waste MP. Summon, blood pact, unsummon. Not hard. Maybe everyone ought to read a FAQ about their job. It tends to help and make you a little less of a newb, thus easier to PT with (which is a good thing).

Ok, sorry about the rant. Thanks to everyone who read this and can identify. And please don't turn this into a "ur teh n00b cuz u whatever" type post. This was intended to make people think about what they can do to make everyone's time in Vana'diel a little less likely to cause an anger-induced brain annurism.

I don't seem to have that problem. Of course, there are bad parties occasionally, and sometimes to might get on a bad party streak, but I've had plenty of parties in Yuhtunga/Yohator jungles that were great.

Woah, don't diss an avatar, it would seem it's YOU who needs to do your research. An avatars damage from melee attacks and the amount of MP lost due to perpetuation cost is proportional with a black mages typical magic. It is NOT a waste of MP.

A thread proving that fact was on the Summoners forum not log ago, though probably lost by now.

Wow, I've never had problems like that, I'm a BLM and what usually happens to me is; I get an invite, I accept.

I get into the party, full. Good.

Then it happens, everyone starts disbanding all of a sudden.
Before I can even get a {Hello!} in, I'm back solo >.<

Do I smell THAT bad? I realize this game has caused my hygiene to hit an all-time low, but why every single time?

My friends are starting to call it the "Curse of the Pigmy"

Before I go onto the party thing, uh, yeh. About what you said. Have you ever brought SMN up? I don't think you should rant about other jobs if what they're doing is worth it or not. But, thats just my 2 cents. Do you like it when people tell you what to do with YOUR job? If you do, thats cool, but I would think you dont. Its their game, and they can play it however they want. After all, they are a Summoner, their job is to, well, summon. Even if they are expected to be main healer- they still have the right to play their job as well. (I have been asked to main heal as bard, and I did so, but I did not neglect getting my songs out)

But, anyway.

Thats most probably the tank's problem. If they don't voke every 30 secs- I find that just lazy. :\ I've taken WAR up a bit, and voke as soon as my timer lets me. I hardly ever lose hate, and Im mithran with not the greatest VIT and STR.

But, RNG get party invites fairly quick. My friend is a RNG- and she got invites like crazy, as much as my BRD did almost. So, if the party isen't the best, just tell them politely that you are going to leave.

Hehe, you have the same DEF as my DRG 41, and I get hate alot. (I go for stats over defence and level. IE: I'd rather a level 30 piece of equip with +DEX over a level 40 piece with maybe 8 more DEF)

But yeh. Gewd luck with RNG.
