People to watch out for =/Follow

While I hate to say slanderous things about anyone, sometimes things must be said.

The first time I met this person was in a PT during my 50's. They were levelling their RDM, and they were wearing, yes, full RSE. Now, I understand that people are poor, but that is no excuse for not being able to fulfill the simple duties required of your job. After being told by the party that she would be kicked if she did not start casting refresh on people, she shouted at all of us and left. (Note: This was after about an hour of simple and polite requests sent in tell asking for a refresh).

Last night, this person went on one of the KS BCNM30 runs with my group. Since they were a lv74 BLM, I dropped PT and let them go with the other 3 (partly so they wouldn't have to split 5 ways, which would be kind of unnecessary, and partly because I didn't trust them). Well, damascene cloth dropped on the orb and this is the conversation I just had with Muffins: (This is from AIM, and I changed the screennames heh)

Muffins: our friend, xiaoquin, is stiffing us on the cloth that dropped
Muffins: she felt she deserved a cut from the other runs we did, ya know, the runs she wasn't even a part of
Muffins: she said we were "rich enough"
Pax: Told you I didn't want to help her
Pax: That's why she was already on my blist

So yeah, I would definately watch out for Xioaquin. While I wasn't burned, the other BLMs do not deserve this. For confirmation of this story, you could ask Sirdan, Leomagnus, or Muffins (the other BLMs that participated).

Don't be so quick to knock RDM's wearing RSE. Elvaan and Galkan RSE is fantastic for mana, and since RDM's shouldn't be copping too much hate anyway defense shouldn't be a major issue. I'm lv60 and still wear my gloves and boots, my AF one's just don't compare.

I'm Elvaan, btw

I know this isn't really along the same lines as the point of your post, but I'm going to second ShyFox in that you shouldn't necessarily be knocking a RDM for wearing RSE. My RSE boots are still the best things I can wear at lvl 70. The AF body and hat are the only good pieces for party play, and depending on the race, there may be some powerful +MP, +MND, or +INT on the RSE pieces. That said, however, there is no reason to slack on refresh duties (or any other duties), and any RDM that does not do his/her job should be kicked.

While the RSE tangent is interesting (could be a whole thread in and of itself--how long can jobs/races really wear their RSE?) I don't want Pax's original warning to be lost. This person is rumored to have done something more devious that wear inapproprate equipment. Past history of stiffing others in BCNM for big ticket items is something we should all be aware of before we make our teams for them.

Thanks Pax for the warning!

While *certain* RSE pieces are great, as I said she was wearing FULL RSE, no headgear, no rings, no earrings, no tathlum of any sort (this was back when a morion tathlum was only ~25k), and had an ash pole. So it's not so much just the RSE as the fact that her equipment, and overall performance, was very poor.

The interesting thing about this is that Xioaquin is a lv74 BLM and has done KS BCNM30 runs before. In other runs, I have been told that when a v.claw dropped (in every run I've gone on this always goes completely to the orb holder), she demanded that she get a percentage of the price from the claw. She claims that BLM's are "too rich" from doing these runs, though she does them also.

This is mostly a warning to other BLMs that run these manaburn KS BCNM30 runs, and to orb bringers to these BCNMs that she shouldn't be trusted, and when money is involved, tends to change the rules at her whim.

Side note: She's lv74 now and still wearing those RSE pants... Please don't tell me those are better than Errants or Druids Slops... she's a mithra BLM and so am I. ;)

Oh, you mean ALL she had in terms of armor was rse XD Yeah, even a moron like me wears some accessories, lol

I keep a list of incompetant players myself, but so far it's only 1 person long: Mopar, I think it was... Met him in the dunes, he kept insisting to tank. Not so bad, you say? He was a subless WHM.

Oh, in her defense of not having errant pants, I hope you realize how much those things are. I wouldn't blame ANYONE for not having them, or any of it for that matter. True enough its awesome, but really, if you can do without it, why go through the insane amount of trouble in order to afford them? Hell, post 50 parties are so hard to form they really don't mind if the mages are naked, so long they're carrying elemental staves and have an up-to-date spell list.

Note to the crazy obsessed people: That was an exaggeration, don't treat it like it was a serious belief and critisize it like crazy.

i was there too. although i am not a blm(i was there as a whm insurance policy) i feel i was ripped off. i was not taking a cut from the orb but was being paid by the blms to be the safety net incase things go wrong. althoug i am somewhat freiends with xioaquin i must say what she did was completely wrong. she will forever go on my personal "kiss my *** list".oh and umm errant pants are like 15k tops... so um you must be thinkin about Druid slops. as usless for whm they are i even have errant slops.
