Lets recap the past events of last weekend
40+ Bastokians vs 10-15 Windurstian's
Bastok lost

Do you understand the time and funds it takes to overthrow one of these regions. The only way it was done on other servers was probably because those servers didn't have dedicated EF groups to defend the regions.

On top of that when you are in control of a region there is little that you can do to help sway control of that region other than supply runs, trading equipment and leveling in that region, and we managed to do that with a quarter of the numbers they had.

I would hate to have seen the total expenses from the Bastokian's, I know I personally lost about 100k worth of stuff (probably more), I would have given an elemental staff or two as well if it got really bad.

You can try, but I don't think you will get anyone willing to waste Gil on such an event. Trying not to be harsh here, but maybe you should try and get a NA EF group going first so you have a base of people willing to do this sort of stuff.

I know if someone came up to me before I joined the Windy one and said "hey come help take over this region by spending more that 100k worth of Gil on equipment and trading it to the outpost." I would have laughed at the and propbably /blist'd them :P

Now it's a different matter, our homeland was under attack, I _had_ to help.

Maybe if all those who defended their cities of San d'Oria, Windurst, and Bastok came together and just agreed upon donating their cities to the other cities for some decided schedule we could all gain the benefit of having the outpost teles of saruta/ronfaure/gustaberg?

::Gets hit with a Tomato + 1::

OK so maybe in a competitive environment a win-win situation like the above is like ..no. X_@;

I sure wish people would do that...

Why don't we? I wouldn't think its too hard to track down the games EF linkshells and come to some kind of 'regional rotation' so we all can get the supply runs for those areas. On second thought, it'd be a pain in the ***, lol.

Heh. I don't know about you, but I'd kill to have an easy way to San D'Oria (Outpost Warp). The same goes for Windurst, really. I'm sure the non-BLMed people would love a quick(heh?) way to Bastok, too.

I wouldn't mind trading regions at once for two weeks, but such an event would not happen (Windurst takes over Gustaberg during week 1, Windurst takes over Ronfaure during week 2. Same with the other two countries). There are too many issues involved, too many people who wouldn't know what's going on, and now Roukii will probably kill me for uttering such things (please don't hurt me!). Hostile takeovers not okay, agreed upon borrowing of land okay (takeover sounded too negative and hostile for something that is agreed upon :P).

Judging by how people rated my post so far, it would seem that people are "patriotic" enough to warrant that extra 10-25 minutes of travel (Teleport-bird or Airship) instead of a quick 'n dirty Vazhl-Outpost.

Yes, it'd take two weeks to allow anyone with a desire to gather outpost warps for the starting regions, but if a few people are willing to rate the concept down here, think of the backlash in the more public server-area.

A much quicker route to my daily crafting fixes without severing the benefits (yes, they exist!) of being Bastokian would be absolutely dandy.

You can succeed at taking over a newbie region the way bastok did but not right now. Because of the recent events on other servers, a lot of people are aware and sensitive to a possible take over. And if they are aware you will lose. The reason why the other servers were successful is because no one expected it. EF groups weren't checking their control of the newbie region so by the time they realized that Windy had taken control it, it was too late.

Wait like 3 or 4 months when this whole thing is dead and burried. Only start trying to take over the newbie region the day before tally. As close to the actually tally as possible to give them the least amount of time to react to what is happening.

It will take a lot of gil. It just what you are willing to sacrifice.

But above all things if you want to take over a region anywhere DON'T POST IT HERE. You're just asking for opposition on the subject. And it will make your job 100 times harder.

We have to keep it alive to a certin extent. If it dies then that means no one is doing them. I would rather control something someone else really want's! Don't mean you have to be on it all the time.

Now if i could only get myself a Giddeus party for Lv. 10 through 20. :p

I second that, except for one thing. I have a NO PL policy. I prefer to neither give, nor receive them. I'm up for any partying though. I have some jobs at level 10 & 15 I could throw in there if you need a fill.

Proposed the plvl because Andena is from Hades server and has been playing for a while so she knows her job ;) I don't propose this to newbs or n00bs because they will learn nothing (specially the whm)IMHO

offtopic as well...

I know Andena came from another server, and is well established, and I have no issues with others PLing Andena, or anyone else for that matter, only saying that's MY stance. By all means, PL if that's what the two of you wish! I still offer myself for party situations if needed.

offtopic end.

While I wouldnt mind being able to tele to those areas, i just dont want em handed to me on a silver platter. I want us to earn them and say hey we did this and know that this tele is worth that X gil to do.

For me doing it willingly this for the tele, would be like if i had willingly bought gil. >< I just wont do it.

Thats my take.

See EF's don't just sit around and pick a region then go after it. Those involved do watch the regions and it's pretty obvious when your homelands are under attack. I don't think this thing will ever happen if there's an active EF in that specific nation.

Sorry for the thread leech :(

I mentioned the Giddeus thing really as a joke since i'm a low level thinking of ways i can help keep Windurst in control of Sarutabaruta. Trying to keep it on topic. I would love to see people from all three nations doing conquest up, along with their normal routine. Would make it more fun. When i first started playing i thought i would befriend some nice Male San d'Orian and switch allegiance so i could take them out from the inside ;\ That’s not possible so i got to stay Windurstian & fight with what they gave me.

off topic response:
I did compare Mob's to Valkurm & Giddeus is my favorite spot (not my only spot) to farm for my crafting/harvesting, treasure chests for gil & good chances at a NM spawns. Not that different except some more aggro & maybe a tougher camp point. If there really is some people out there willing to EXP in a totally different area (No PL) talk to me ingame so we don't keep messing up this topic :)

And I wouldn't shut out a back up heal if i couldn't keep myself alive kind of PL, but I never do them myself or have had anyone other than my roommate PL once or twice if i came really close. Just messing around type of thing.

Winded now, must do Easter Egg quest, Have a good day!

Well yesterday I had a blast levelling in Tahrongi Canyon and Maze of Shakrami... No big secrets

We were 4 on Tahrongi (RNG, WAR, BST, WHM) and chained Ts very quickly.

When the BST left we packed our stuff and went to the maze... there were 2 BSTs and a THF levelling there, but they left soon. As a 3 person PT we hit some nice chains 5 (for 260ish exp) and even chains 6.

Sorry akya for not letting you tank.... ^^ I was packing heat ^^

3-4 Person PTs are viable and work very well (in certain situations) Just be smart about it! Guides arent always the best, they know a way to get there, but if youre clever enough youll take the small road and cut 90 minutes off your drive ^^

I see.

Those that do EF want to preserve the acquisition of outpost teleports as the reward for taking over a territory. I also understand that if there was to be some outpost rotation of the home territories (Gustaberg, Saruta, and Ronfaure) it would sap all the glory of taking over that territory.

If this rotation were to happen though, sure, some EFers would be dissapointed that they didn't bleed and fight to earn that outpost teleport, but then the fact that the three cities could come together and agree on something as the rotation itself shows that we all have earned the outpost teleports as well. Both methods of obtaining the outpost teleports aren't easy to accomplish; one of them involves gil and warfare, the other involves large-scale cooperation. The latter method offers a win-win situation for everyone though.

Also, if we consider that outpost teleports are the only reason/reward that EFers strive to obtain when taking over other territories -- why then do EFers continue to try to take over territories that they've already gotten outpost teleports for? The whole flex-your-muscle and show-who's-dominant charade can continue even after the outpost rotation, bragging rights can still be won afterward too.
