I relize that this is going to look like another player whining about how he couldn't get his NM drop because of Gil sellers. Well it is. I've been pursuing the ochidios Kote with near obsesion and last night me and some high lvl buds decided to camp it. After 20 or 30 miniutes two KOFs show up (Nice and oof)I was watching the other campers that were there befor us closely. Every time some one mad a move i nearly took a dump in my pants. Well, Mee Diggi pops and a lvl 60 dragoon (Rok-somthing) gets the claim, I felt pretty good that the KOFs didn't get it and then Nice engaged it as well. My party started spaming the hate mail to them, and nice high tails it to jeuno.

That was 3:30 in the morning. I checked on the dragoon at 9 or so and she was still camping him with the KOFs. They were there all day.

After that I started to think that even if I earned the money to buy the kote that I would get sick if it was sold by a gil seller. I WON'T SUPORT THEM!!! This was my first encounter with the gil sellers and I don't intend on letting them get away with what they are doing with this game. This isn't about the kote anymore, it's about the attatiude that the players are powerless against the all powerful gil sellers. I'm making plans but they are not yet compleat. I'll make another post in a few days when I can colect my thoughts.

I will need help.

We are -not- powerless. Even with the bots, the packetsniffers and the shift controled PC's, you can -still- beat them to claim. I understand your hate, but understand this before the Kofs came to Castle O, there were people who did the same thing.

Till people take a stand and leave the gilsellered NM drops on the AH and people stop buying gill, nuthing will change.

Also remember that COP bought a replacement sort of for the item the Kofs basicly live off of.

Camping Gil Sellers? (Yes, Please!)

I'll be in on a Gil Seller Hunting LS. Yeah we can camp their spawns, steal their stuff, they will aggro us though. They also link.

For starters, the JP should have had their own servers, they had too long a jump over NAs, and they are the reason that prices were so high to begin with. And on the same page, PC should have been separate from PS2, for the same reasons.

I don't know about you, but I have many friends who play the game on PS2. The game wouldn't be half as fun without them. And as for the japanese, many players, including myself, enjoy the mixture of cultures. Sure, it's a rough start for beginners, but its the same thing as if someone started late on PC. Not all of NA computer users started the game at the same time. IMHO, the game would suck more, not less, if you split everyone up.

I would like to see ALL NM/HNM drops to be rare ex.

If they did this, then even more people would be camping them, and fewer people would have the item. And we all want party members to have this gear. So in essence you are ******** yourself with this idea. While it is noble, the fact is that this too would hurt us more than help us in all likelihood.

One of my friends beat them at their game for the O kotes but 2 months ago or so....

They are not gods of ****** claiming, they use dirty tricks, but keep in mind they are human, and they make mistakes.

Just be fast and practice yourself at caliming anything that pops there, with time and practice youll get it. (that or go farm the million or so)

It took us a straight week to get the kotes, and I was there when he got them, I got tired at 1am he stayed till 3-4 AM or so, hes been enjoying them ^^

There was a post earlier that my friend Shuyinn put up that he beat the gil sellers ACCIDENTLY on Argus and got the Peacock Charm. So there is always hope, you can beat the gil sellers. Just don't give up, and don't buy the item.

All i have to say is dont give up. I got the O kote drop. I went camping it the day of the major update. Turned out i had the wrong room so a friend tells me the correct area. I go inside and theres 7+ campers. I decide to leave and as i go to leave i fight 1 yag. Well there was link and 1 of the link was the NM i killed it and got the O Kote drop.

Just dont give up. I have also been camping the jujitsu gi orc and even had kofgood try and kill me but i keep trying. I even beat the kofs to the NM every time but 1 and theres usualy 3 of them and 1 of me.

Gil sellers will never go away so dont let them change you. You will get that NM hell latly if you do /sea kof there even on less. So what if that Rok chick is a gil sellers let them scuable there life away on a game sitting around mindlessly for hours to get a drop that isnt even 100% positive. Just keep trying you will get them. Trust me if i can anyone can.

Id have to agree that the Rare Ex item is not great on all items, but some would benefit from it being thatr way, some would just need the Rare status just to help them.

Like make all the items that can be used to craft higher lvl versions rare.Im not talking all items, just items like archers rings. However make the crafted version non-rare.

To begin, I'd like to mention that my opions more or less mirror LakshmiGenma's:

1) It's because people WILL pay incredibly high prices that they stay incredibly high. Look how much these idiots will pay for a morion earing opposed to a cunning earing. And for what? FOUR mp. That's it, just four. People just don't care how much it costs, so much as it doesn't cost THEM so much.

2) Now the whole separated server thing is a big bite, but having certain servers had been created for certain groups is common, and whouldn't have been a bad idea, but it's too late now. Also, thinking because you game on a PC instead of a console you're the very incarnation of perfection is by far the most common thing I've heard in my life, and nobody can deny how prevailant this attitude is.

3) NM drops! First off, I don't think that they should be rare/ex. I don't even think they should exist at all. Think about it, if they didn't exist, would there be so many gilsellers? Would you waste countless hours sitting and waiting when you could be doing something more constructive? "But Vayne! How am I supposed to make money without my precious NM drops?" Well, if SE made it so monsters dropped gear more frequently and at proportional levels (hate it when you kill a level 30 mob and get lv2 armor?), we wouldn't NEED to make money. We'd just be able to farm for hours and actually get a decent return for our efforts. "But Vayne! I have an unhealthy lust for uber gear! How can I get my fix?" Simple, have 'uber' gear drop from normal mobs. You may think this would cause horrible train problems, but think about the areas people XP in compared to areas we don't. LOT more empty, useless areas. So, have these 'uber' drops come from mobs in these abandoned areas, away from xp parties. Nobody EVER uses buburimo (or whatever) for anything more than a place to farm wind elementals and kill leeches for carbuncles ruby, and maybe the occasional EF, so why not put that wasteland to use by having gobs drop something nice?

Idealistic much? ^^;

To actually be on topic, gilsellers are inevitable, cause they're is always gonna be lazy people who don't want to earn their keep. I tried starting an anti-gilseller LS, based on outcamping them, but it didn't fly, I have zero leadership qualities. I'm better and taking orders than issuing them...

Shyfox, IMO NM dropes are one of the things that make this game fun. When you see a person with a NM drop like the Emporer's Hairpin or the kote, your sapouse to say "Wow that person actualy killed that thing and got the drop." or "Wow! That person farmed His *** off to get that thing!" But latley when I see ppl who don't know whats going on with a drop like that I think, "I wonder how much RL money he spent to buy that?"

I know that's not a fair way to think but some one is buying gil and I have a feeling I've run into a few of them.

Since every one wants to sagest a way to change the NM drop system I decided to add my two cents as well.

Don't make them Rare exclusive, that way they can still be bought and sold. However SE should give the items another afect that only allow's the player to recive one drop, ever. Even if he is in a pt and they get the drop he will be ineligable to recive it. This way you will still have ppl hunting NMs and working hard, or they can still farm traditional items to earn gil to buy the drops. But this would prevent the Gil sellers from camping a NM 24/7

Oh, and as far as a Anti-Gil Seller LS gose, I've tought about it and figuered it would be imposible to collect ppl dedicated enough to out camp the sellers day and night. This is a game, and the point is to have fun. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

NM drops making this game fun?

You can honestly tell me you find sitting and waiting hours for something to pop, surrounded by people determined to beat you to that mob, only to have it swiped by 3 of the Kof group fun?

You find farming for weeks and weeks just so you can have an extra 3 DEX a pleasurable experiance?

Wow, that's a new one.

At any rate, the NM system is good on paper, just think about it. You're adventuring through the land, when all of a sudden a great beast (okay, just a normal lizzard with a different name) appears, and you valiantly slay it and earn yourself a wonderful peice of equipment! No doubt this is the intended effect SE had in mind.

But in reality, the stats of the item in question, while very well may be the best item in that slot, is blown out of proportion, and thus sought after by tons. That paired with the abysmal drop rate has spawned countless gilsellers, and caused the overall price of it to skyrocket to absurd levels.

Really the only way to fix the problem and achive what I think was the intended experiance with NM's, is to have the drop rate drastically improved. Not so much so everyone and their sister has one, but at least enough so that if you want one it's a fairly painless venture.

lol, ok maybe "FUN" was a bit of a stretch. But I enjoy having something to work for. Your right the prices are way out of porportion to the efect of the gear. If I get my Kote and decide it is useless... oh well, I i'll just have to sell it and find something else to do with 1.5 million gil. (In fact I wish to have that problem right now, ^_^)

maybe they could make it like the fishing system where drop rates (on rare items) go down after a certain amount of time spent in each area without a skill up or something, just a thought

While I don't have anything to add to the actual discussion, I'd like to mention that Rokiys and Sotng are the other gil sellers that camp with the Kofs. Kofboss and Kofnqice have been banned, as far as I can tell, due to an incident at the Mee Deggi spawn involving spamming insults at the other campers. I didn't think I had a chance in hell at getting them kicked when I called GM, but it just goes to show that it's *always* worth a shot if they're doing something dirty. Not all the GMs are heartless.

Way to play the game Toma! I hope this at least slows down their camping.

Oh, and mambav, that has got to be one of the best sugestions I've ever herd for the NM camping. Dose any one know how to get SE's atention to try and impement something like that?
