If that is the actual letter than someone plans to send to SE, I would request that the spelling errors be corrected before I sign it.

I'm not trying to be ****. Only pointing out that to be considered even somewhat seriously, a letter of this type must be as proffesional as possible.

As for the ads, it is sad. Unfortunately, it's just like the ones on here for example, and there's really nothing that the person who put up the site can do about it.

Well, not to ruffle any feathers, but this thread should be titled "vs GilSellers." Many people in this game don't know the difference between farming and selling. To me, if you are out there hunting NMs to fund some super item you can't afford, that's gil farming. Like Strider Boots, I know people(not bots) who camp Lizzy and the VE to get the money just to buy this item. To me, that is farming. Anyone in AF2 hunting an NM is overkill, and farming. They don't need the money, yet they continue to try and get it. I swear, I have so many ideas that make this game so much better, and for the greater good, it would be, but there are a LOT of people who would be pissed off at my ideas.

Gil selling however, is different. Thats the Luckygirl(or gril) LS tools, or Maviont and Arabaud and his cronies. It's like Denzel said in Training Day, "It's NOT what you KNOW, it's what you can PROVE." We all KNOW that these douches are gil sellers, but none of us can prove it. And if we could, what would we do? Report to a GM who won't do anything about it? GMs are the stupidest thing ever thought of, you call them, and they talk to you like you are a little kid. Then you tell them the situation, and they say they will look into it. ********* Oh god I have to stop, or else this is going to be a novella I write here...........

LOL!

I would definitly sign a more formal one instead of wasting my time on a petition written by a 14 year old who can't use proper wordings and end the letter with "SHAME ON YOU".

edit: typo

Just because someone is wearing AF2 doesn't mean he has no need for gil. It's not like someone is camping an NM just to keep you from getting the drop. He's camping it because he wants gil to buy something else (or he actually wants the item for one of his other jobs).

I'v been camping LL on and off for weeks now, no luck at all. Sure the boots are going for a hell of alot of money and I would be tempted to sell them, but to be honest, the jobs I'm leveling atm need them more.

On another note we went out to help a LS buddy get Kaz keys last night, and well there was 8+ known gilsellers camping Torrent >_<. Seriously something has to be done.

Stupid Random Idea #47834: Start a paypal account, everyone donates a dollar here and there, first hacker to hack SE and delete the Gilsellers accounts gets the kitty. (Yes I know the legal bits behind this, just having some fun).

I'm pretty sure anyone with the knowledge to hack SE would much rather load themselves with uber incredible gear and 99,999,999 gil, then leave unnoticed than to make waves like that. Just playing devil's advocate here.

P.S.
If you see me walking around in all GM gear, please don't say anything ^^

Holy crap! I just read the actual petition. It's not a bad Idea however it just dosn't say enough. It makes no realy argument other than the game is less fun and i don't want to pay 1.8 million for the kote, Blizard bans "goldsellers" why can't SE? If I ever come off sounding like that I want all of you to slap me.

I think a petition to SE would be great but as stated above it needs to be a well writen easay explaining the grivences of the comon player and why these acounts should be band.

I have to say when the letter get rewritten, with better language, I'll sign it.

This just sounds like someone whining about high prices not gilsellers or gilfarmer as he refers to them as. Way it sounds to me, if I sit there and try to camp lizzy for as long as i can and get the next 10 sales I could be a gilseller.

And his last comment, about gilbuyers, just should not be in the letter. It has no relevence to SE.

I agree it's a problem, but petitions are a very formal way of protest, and hence wont be taken seriously unless they're written in a formal manner, i.e. good punctuation, grammar, and not off of a free-petition-website...

Secondly, don't complain about a problem if you can't come up with a logical soloution. That's just like tearing down an old building without any effort to build somthing in it's place. Telling SE they NEED to do somthing isn't a soloution, just passing on the burden.

Lastly, Gilsellers are only half the problem. They're just taking advantage of Supply and Demand economics. The people who are keeping them in business are the ones we should be upset with. In my eyes, the most direct way to get rid of gilsellers, is to get people to stop spending REAL money for GAME money! Easier said than done, Supply and Demand is a powerful thing...

If one doesn't have the time to farm and craft one's own fortune, then maybe one doesn't have the time to play FF, and really enjoy it. Looking for a quick easy game? Go play WoW.

(See, I was formal and elouquent, and it sounds like I know what I'm writing about, and that I'm making a good argument!)

Umm, sorry I wont sign that. Why? Well theres a gil merchant ad right above it..... Also it's not the merchants that make a game bad no.... it's the crappy community that buys the gil. Sorry if that was a little too blunt but... truth hurts.
