My greatest accomplishment was disregarding a player's rank, told him to STFU and Warped to Jeuno after he wouldn't get off the idea of me pulling off a Freeze burst with a party that could barely handle crabs in Kuftal.
Want some info? He wanted the Monk to stop using Raging Fists and use Shoulder Tackle.
That's right. Shoulder Tackle. On crabs. At level 50. (He was 49, or something) While we had a Red Mage who didn't dispel Shell or Defense boost, and had a seriously hard time keeping refresh on both the WHM and the PLD. Yet this guy kept yammering on about wanting me to Freeze Burst. Yeah. Lets disregard the person who actually keeps the mob debuffed to a tolerable level, then waste half his MP to get him killed. Black Mages must stand proud and not bend to the will of AM fetishists. ; ;

Beating Maat at 66. Had a heck of a time, but I managed to pull it off, even with 3 spell resists. Actually died, reraised and hit him with yet another resisted Blizzard III for around 100 dmg, and he gave up. Maat sure has a ton of INT. Only spell that hit for full was freeze, which did a pathetic 520 dmg.
I know its kinda small but beating my first solo avatar fight at 20smn, My yag juice ran out and carby died and didnt pull off his last searing light and i beat him with banish casting and using alot of potions and ethers. :)

It's not a terribly difficult job because they are such wonderful people, and such good friends... but I just think its important to deal with people's feelings carefully.

When I got my Castle Oztroja Coffer key in two fights, then opened up my coffer which was in the adjacent room (The one with the passwords like Zuxu), then went down and got my Yagudo Crest, all the while getting Escaped safely from a WHM friend and having a RDM/NIN friend keep the Yagudo High Priest at bay (I swear, if I didn't toss that Cure IV on him, he'd be dead).
Total time spent getting coffer key: 2 minutes

My greatest accomplishment was bneating the gil sellers in Giddeus to Hoo Mjuu The Torrent 5 times in a row. They got so angry after a while. It was really fun. Thats all I can think of at the moment.

I'd have to say as of now my greatest accomplishment was in Monastic cavern, the party was getting pounded bad by a mnk orc. Everyone's health was low and the whm used benediction. So everyone scrambled to get it off the whm luckily she had casted stoneskin and blink before she did it. Well the thf and war/thf tricked off the pld to get back hate but it wasn't enough. This whole time I've been wailing on it and my 2hour was used a few fights earlier (same goes for the pld). Well I built up my TP to 300% and did warcry the followed with Rampage. Then provoked, and i successfully took the hate back. We killed it and I ended up tanking in the end. So my accomplishment was 2 things, the first I saved the whm's life and second I did something that seems unlikely without a 2hour.
I'd post something, but considering how long I've played and how much I've accomplished, there really isn't anything I can take pride in :/
Sucks when you're stuck at lv60 and friends who started about the same time as me are roaming Dynamis and enjoying god fights, makes anything I accomplish seem silly.

Greatest FFXI accomplishment? It's a tie between the struggle I had for my Fighter's Calligae and landing a 1210 Rampage on a Decent Challenge orc in Davoi (Mighty Strikes + Berserk + Mithkabob + Warcry + Rampage = Dead orc).
Calligae story: A 65 RDM friend of mine wanted to solo the Quadav NM for the mottled egg, so 10 minutes later, he calls in help, as do I. We proceed to give the Quad the beatdown of the century. Get to Castle O (Hell) and to the leech pool, he wants to -ga all the leeches and destroy them...3 minutes later he calls in help ^^
I get a Raise II, go to rest, get aggro'd by a SAM yag and die from DA >.<
Get another Raise II, fight naked for 500 xp to get lvl 50 back.
My next accomplishment will be actually finishing G2 >.<

12am-5am running around Qufim in a JP party getting more exp/hr than I have ever seen (no PL) on a work night ; ;
First Freeze MB (used zone to shred hate) came back in to try again ^^ Mob hardly moved.
Benedictioning someone from death. Seriously I saw him on 0 and falling as I used it and he lived ^^
Probably the one I will never stop talking about happened a few nights back.
LS Bud and I were farming Yag Necklaces for him in Giddeus. Come out spot Whirlwind, have a heart attack, manage to get Stun off, and get the drop.. woo. Then we decide to go around to kill Yag near Huu just incase. 10 mins later Huu pop, I claim... wooooo, no drop ; ;.
So we go back to farming and stuff, he goes off to gather a rather large group of yags to bring it back to me. Just as he gets to me he drops to the ground. I'm like craaaap 300Mp not enough to AoE them all so I sleepga II the all. Now my plan was to rest while they slept, but I had Dia on, by the time it wore off I had to sleep more and got Bio ; ;
So after juggling sleeps and running out of MP fast I decided to run. My target the zone to the BCNM area, won't hurt any newbies there. MP on 0 and running through Giddeus watching my life go down ever so slowly I fall off a ledge. Knowing that it would be a long way to the BCNM zone (and I wasn't going to zone them at the entrance I stood my ground).
20+ angry yags, 1 taru BLM, no MP and a elemental staff. Slowly my HP was being chipped away, every now and again I let off an AoE WS killing a few Yags. Seeing that my life was getting into the red I downed a Selbina Milk and proceeded on. HP under 50, 10 yags left, another AoE, 4 yags left, 20 HP. I finally finish them all off with 13 HP remaining.
Selbina Milk saved my life that day, I now always carry some bottles on me for good luck. I was 773/30,000 [61] ~ death was not an option.
