World EmmigrationFollow

There seem to be a lot of people excited about the server emmigration event on the main forum, and I noticed a few posts here as well. I'm not sure I understand why people are so excited about moving. While there is a small chance that you will be able to find some niche that hasn't been filled on a new server, and you may be able to make large amounts of gil from it, think about what you will be leaving behind.

I took a look through the Ragnarok's Finest thread... There are a lot of familiar names in there, and there are quite a few helpful people on our server. There are people you have partied with in the past, who you may not know very well, but still give you a /wave as you run past. People you have helped in the past who are willing to return the favour. Chances are, many of these people will stay behind. If you choose to move to a new server, you will spend a significant amount of time meeting new people, and trying to build new friendships. I've been finding my AF quests difficult enough with the large number of friends I have already made on Ragnarok. I can't imagine moving to a new server, where I only know a handful of people who have moved with me.

To anyone who is thinking of leaving Ragnarok, I ask that you think long and hard about what you will be leaving behind. We have some great people on this server. I am proud to be from Ragnarok, and I would hate to see our world lose some of the nicest people in the game!

This is my first and last server. I don't think I'll ever leave because it's basically my home. I've had too many good experiences here to just pack up and leave to a new World unless the entire population (the finer players that is, barring n00bs) of Ragnarok could come with me.

Being as Nice and Blunt as Possible:

Try not to P.K. Mob Train Parties on the New Server. It's a good way to Avoid GM Calls, and /blist add Yraec.

I'm not moving. I like Ragnarok.

My question is, why are they asking people to move? Is the server too overloaded with people?

Deffinitely not moving. I've been around for months, but it just now feels like I'm meeting people (aside from the RL ones) I could call my friends. *McDonald's music~* I'm lovin it! Gads I hate those commercials...

I've heard about the world emmigration SE is making a few days ago, and the exact same toughts came to my mind.
Its quite true that youll be able to take advantage of the little number of users on the server when you "move in", however you must ask yourself: "Is it really worth what im gonna leave behind?"; to be able to forget all the friends that have partaken the FFXI experience with me and also all the memories that i share with this world, is something i dont think i'll ever be able to sustain, so im quite sure im gonna stay at Ragnarok.
Best wishes to all the ppl who are gonna emmigrate to other servers; im sure you wont be forgotten by all the ppl that you have shared your company with.

I was thinking about it till I looked in my screen shot gallery I have. And I found all these pics of people I pted with back in the day. Now their like level who knows what and I have pics of them at level 10-11 in their starting armor... How can I leave when I have stuff like that? lol
