I don't know how many of you know me, but as of Dec 31st, I'll be quitting the game for good.
Numerous reasons go into my decision:
anti-DRK sentiments
-The lack of anything new for DRKs in the past three patches
gilsellers
-the economy in general
idiots
inability to get new equip (I don't have CoP)
lack of time to play in coming months
-The fact that you can't accomplish anything in under an hour
The cooking changes
there's more to it than that, but it can be summed up in "I'm not having fun anymore"
so if you know me, or knew me, this is good bye, and good luck

...DRK doesn't NEED new gear. DRK is fine the way it is. Take a look at other jobs, such as DRG, that needs stuff, and compare.
There's always going to be anti-job people. You think DRK is bad? Perhaps you have not gotten far enough into the game to realize how bad off other jobs have it in comparison.
As far as economy, if you haven't got the time to invest to farm/craft/ect, then an MMORPG definately isn't for you.
But yes, if you aren't having fun, don't pay to play the game anymore, just retire. It's sad that so many people such as yourself are unable to continue playing, but there isn't much any of us can do about it. I hope you do well in future ventures.

I wouldn't say DRKs have it the worst, all melee have it pretty bad. I was referring to the fact that the Job has remained static, and there's been no new job abilities or spells to explore.
Did I want something more powerful? Not particularly
Did I want something that was small but useful, such as a magic attack up bonus? That would have been great, especially with the emphasis on letting other jobs Magic Burst
Did I want a new, different job ability post souleater - yes - it would have been something new to try.
In the past three major updates, DRKs got no new equipment lines, no spectacular weapons, thye finally did get some accessories, but since at this pont, buying CoP is pointless, I didn't get that. The only change we've gotten to our actual job was the bio and bio2 mp reduction. Which, while awesome on its own, doesn't really help us since most parties want dia.

i dont think square needed to upgrade the drks for the past few patches namely because they were good enuf already. the acc thing has always been a prob for drks right? i shud know i was one.. (33 drk. quit coz of the acc thing) but from what ive heard (and i know) drks are still pretty strong. u just gotta bare the occasional miss til u get alot more +acc equips..
anyway if this doesnt change ur mind, i hope ur happy with whatever u will be doing in the future. ffxi is only a game :) enjoy life to the fullest right? do what u want if it makes u happy ^^ /salute {take care} and good luck ^^
