Hey, some of you might know me as Dacove from Ragnarok. Haven't played in quite a long time, about a year actually. Coming back with my girlfriend to play some ffxi again. Question I had though, is she is gonna have to start fresh so I was wondering how hard is it gonna be to form low lvl parties now even with me syncing with her. Just in general what to expect party wise. Any insight to lvling parties now would be a great heads up. Thanks for ya time and info. Hope to see ya round soon.

Welcome back to you, and welcome to your lady fair.

I won't sugar-coat it: Right now it's rough getting lower level parties together, and I'll give three guesses why.

One is the advent of Abyssea. It's fun for the veterans to explore the new areas, get treasure and tons of experience up to level 85 (and merit points). Few who can partake in Abyssea will choose to join a Dunes party instead. (And those lower-level parties that ARE formed tend to be level-syncs in Qufim Island or East Ronfaure_S.)

Two, there are few relatively new players. And three, the release of Final Fantasy 14 has taken away a good chunk of players and play-time from 11.

Take heart, though. The Fields Of Valor mini-quests make things a lot easier for new folks, as does Level Sync itself (although Sync has its downsides, like under-skilled jobs as a result of tons of syncing).

That being said, I have tried hard in my own LS (cynosure-online.com) to keep things chugging along from the perspective of those new to the game. I don't mind missing out some on Abyssea if it means helping out someone new -- and it helps my linkshell in the long run, as we are more likely to survive if we maintain our player base.
