I just completed this quest and recieved this Bracer but it wasn't +2 to BC, it was +2 to Spear and +2 Con. I don't know if that is because I have only 6 points in BC and 10 in Spear or what but I'm glad taht I was given the Spear bonus and not anything to do with BC.

i know we should keep our bows at our lvl, but not till 20! when you can respect of course. see you dont have anyneed to assinate anyone till lvl 20, so dont worry bout bow till you respect.
My Hunter has been Max Bow since he was born and at level 36 he's only got 13 spear skill and 36 Bow.
He's been soloing oranges since level 10. He solo'd his first red at level 33. I sincerely doubt any Spear Hunter could claim the same, unless they have buffs out the wazoo. My hunter doesn't need buffs to take out a red.

This item is not useless and I'm definately gonna get it. It's perfect for all of us who don't specc beastcrafting, but rather spec bow and still have quite good points in spear, beastcraft and stealth. (since you can easily get bonus points later on through more magical items)

One would think that with a +2 Beastcraft bracer one could charm creatures higher then the can with only max Beastcraft. Since charming and spell is based on 4/5 of your level of Beastcraft.

your chance to SUCCEED is based on beast craft, as well as your MAX level of the mobs you can charm, but its 4/5 of the character's level not his beastcraft level that determines when a mob will be enchanted

Just a Note: Even with Items that raise your Skill, you still don't get the higher level spells. I believe it is handled the same way as Weapon Styles.... Items raise your chance to crit/execute a style that you already have based on your actual skill but the Item Bonus does not give you the higher level styles.
So, I actually kindof agree that this item is somewhat useless. UNLESS, it will infact give you the higher spells when worn. I just hit 15th so I do not have the item yet... I fear I will be disappointed though.
Oh well, tis fun to quest anyway!

I think that there is a prerequisite. The reason for my answer is that I did not get the quest until I had done everything else that my trainer in Jor. had given me.

The bracer helps. It all depends on which way you wanna go with your spec points. You get it anyway so just us it.

In case you haven't noticed, the higher your beastcraft the better the spells you can cast are.

Pretty much a useless item for the hunter, if ye ask me. I max my B/C, and still see no need for this.. Nothing ever resists my charm spells, and it's not like I have to worry about running out of power either.. I only have to cast a few spells every 10 mins.
