The Rod and the Scholars (Healer)

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different *This is for Healers, the one for Shamans is The Rod and the Scholars (Shaman) Starting with Per at level 15 he requests you to travel to Haggerfel and speak with a woman named Inaksha, she sits in a hut with the towns healer and enchanter. She tells you about visions she's been having and wants you to verify wether her visions of the past are true or not. She sends you to speak with Gorne in Audliten. This is the Wisdom of time part that send you to this part. [Step 1] Seek out Gorne in Audliten. He has much to say! He tells you a few tales of mythos and tells you that to better find information you should speak with a kobold in Vasudheim. [Step 2] Seek out Scholar Kjell in Vasudheim. This kobold tells of a book that archives items and artifacts of great lore but has been lost to him and requires you to get it back for him. Kjell says, "Oh, I see, Gorne has send you to me looking for [information] I would guess?" Kjell says, "Information on the Thul and a [great staff]?" Kjell says, "I should think Gorne is speaking of the Rod of Mimir. It is rumored to have once belonged to the ancient tribe of the Thul. I would not put my beliefs in such things. I prefer to put my own beliefs into thtings I can hold. Even these old books here. There may be one book, however, which would turn rumor into fact! Are you [interested] Healer?" Kjell says, "I once owned a book of item lore. One of the greatest lore books I've ever seen! Written on its pages are the tales of many who have laid their eyes upon [items of power]. The book is safe from prying eyes as the spells I?ve placed upon its lock can only be broken by me." Kjell says, "I cannot be certain that your great staff can be found upon the pages of this book. Yet, should you [retrieve] this book for me, I would not hesitate to open its secrets to you." Kjell says, "The book was stolen in the dead of night from my abode. I have heard rumors that it has since passed from hand to hand. The only [clues] I can possibly give you is a name and region where it was last seen." Kjell says, "I know only of the name Prugor and that he dwells somewhere within the region of Mularn. You should start your journey there my friend. A warning Healer, this book is of great value and will be protected by many. Should you find the book's current owner, you will require comrades to take it!" [Step 3] Find Prugor and get the book of lore from him. You must kill a Vendo in northwest Valley of Mularn near the Vendo camps by the name of Prugor. Prugor can be found in the Vendo camp in the Vale of Mularn. Loc 25k, 12k. He was green to me at level 15 tho you have to watch out for Rathes and his little war band as they both travel the same path. After killing Prugor you will recieve a book. You receive an book of lore from Prugor! [Step 4] Return to Kjell in Vasudheim Kjell says, "Welcome back Healer! Was your search for the book of lore successful?" You give book of lore to Kjell. Kjell casts a spell! Kjell says, "Ah! Let us see if we can yet find the secrets of your great staff within the pages of my book." Kjell says, "Here it is! The Rod of Mimir serves its maker, the god of Wisdom in all things. The rod is rumored to bring ultimate knowledge to the Thul and the one who wields the rod! If this is the device you seek, then prepare yourself for disappointment. The rod has been lost to the Thul for many generations. All who may have known its location have been long since entered into Valhalla. You would be best to return to the one who has championed for the rod?s return and tell them of their misfortune." Kjell says, "I can help you no more." [Step 5] Return to Inaksha Inaksha says, "Have you [found] truth in my visions?" Inaksha says, "I knew you were the proper choice for this task. The Thul and the Rod of Mimir you say? Perhaps this is what I have seen in my visions! It is said in myth that the Thul were the great seekers of wisdom and the purest of heart and spirit. I must meditate on this and decide on where next to direct your focus. I thank you for your service!" You receive a Eir Blessed Pendant from Inaksha! You are awarded 191,520 experience! You have finished the The Rod and the Scholars quest. Return to Wisdom of Time Reward: |

I think this is a shaman and healer quest with the same start but Per told me to go see a VAL in a gard tower and has said nothing about Inaksha in haggerfel. I have yet to find this VAL NPC.

I'm at the stage where I need to talk to Gorne in Audilten. He doesn't respond. Do I have to say anything to him?

I found prugor wandering between the 2 Vendo camps north of Haggerfel.
He conned green at level 15. But he did have 3 other blue friends with him.
Well i decided to follow him. If you do. He will end up seperating himself from his group. That is when you attack.

This Item was great for a while, but midway thru level 20, it stopped giving me bonuses to my specs. I still have it, blue to me at 22, and when i equip it it says the power flows through me, yet i receive no benefits to my specs. I have tried everything I can think of. Any ideas??

The real quest name is "The Rod and the Scholar", but when you talk to Per to get it, you actually get 2 different entries in your journal. The second entry is called "A Wisdom of Old" which actually gets completed at level 20. This is the first part of that epic quest.
The lady in Haggerfel that you have to talk to is named Inaksha, the man in Audilten is named Gorne and the kobold in Vasudheim is named Kjell.
You had to have done "Traveler's Way" and "Darksong's Dirge" quests before being able to get this one, but can get any of them at any level past the original start levels.
The item you get is Eir Blessed Pendant, a neck item that gives you +1 to Augmentation, Mending and Pacification.
I just finished this quest today, so I hope this helps a bit.
This of course is for Healers, Shaman get a Blessed Bone Bracer which gives +1 to Augmentation, Mending and Cave Magic.

I just killed Prugor this morning...he was wandering between the two camps. He conned blue to me at 15. I "killt him until he was dead" as it were.
He came along with another blue buddy. I don't know if that was his personal guard or he just happened to be in the vicinity when Prugor was pulled.

Does Prugor wander around or does he just stay in the camp where he spawned. I saw him briefly once, but someone else killed him before I could. Since then I have not seen hide nor hair of him. Any ideas?
I think this is the start of the healer epic quest.

I'm level 20 now, is there any way to get this quest if Per never gave it to you? I think I levelled too fast without stopping to do the level 7 and 11 quests, so I may have gimped myself. Any suggestions?

You probably have to do the level 7 and 11 quests first, before they'll give you this quest.

I started it myself at 15. You can do the earlier quests to work up to this, without any problems. Just really poor quality to you.
