Chains of Death

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different As of patch 1.79 this quest is no longer being given out, only those with this quest in their journals prior to the 1.79 patch can complete this quest. This quest has been replaced with a new Epic quest (#6). Per patch 1.75: - Chains of Death - Erich and the Giant Skeletons have been moved northeast of Cornwall Station atop a hill. When you return to your trainer in Camelot upon reaching level 30 you are told that the wizards succeeded in breaking the spells holding Aricoer's box, and they found a wealth of gold and silver, which has been donated to the church. Also inside was a small figurine wrapped in a scroll. The scroll states that if the owner requires assistance they should seek out the one who wears the honored sacrifical dagger. Once again your assistance is needed, and you are directed to speak to Loremaster Alain to see what information he may have on the figurine. He can be found on the second floor of The Academy in Camelot. Alain has seen this type of object before. He explains that it is used to identify the holder as the key to some unholy sacrifice. He says the one who made the figurine must have great skill in carving bone. Upon returning to your trainer you are informed that The Church has sent couriers to all their trainers throughout the Realm. You as asked to search them out to see what additional information they may be able to add. You are also given a second figurine to give as a gift, as expected when one delivers the first figurine. This gift has been endowed with the holiest of prayers. As it turned out Lord Adribard and Lady Lynn, the Paladin and Cleric trainers in Adribard's Retreat, did have some information about a woman the roams among the undead somewhere in Cornwall. Since Aricoer was found in Cornwall at the broken tower, this seems like it could be the one your seek. Even at this point in your career, Cornwall is a very dangerous place. There are no guards west of Cornwall Station, and the land has many dangerous creatures that roam around. There are three places in Corwall that I know to have undead. You have already been to the broken tower in western Cornwall, and you may have been to the ruins just northwest of Cornwall Station to seen Brother Jarrell's ghost. There is one other site, a ruined Roman villa, that has a number of undead Romans wandering within and without its walls. To get there head west along the road until you see a small path headed east. There you will see a few giant skeletons, and a woman nearby named Erich, who is the one you seek. It is probably best if you eliminate the giant skeletons one by one before attempting to talk to Erich. He is located at 61.1k 14.8k Cornwall, NE of Cornwall station. When you talk with Erich, she mistakenly believes you are actually in disguise, and asks for the bone figurine. She then asks for a small gift. Then she takes it from you she realizes her mistake too late, and the prayers upon it destroy her. Any remaining giant skeletons will then attack you. You are awarded some silver and some experience, and she also dropped a Netherwordly Cloak, a very nice Sorcerer and Cabalist cloak. Upon returning to you trainer, you are awarded a nice item for your diligent work. For Paladins, this is a nice pair of plate gloves called Blessed Vindicators. They appear purple when you wear them.
