A new level 19 Hibernian quest: Freeing Osier... a Connla merchant believes her beloved, lost many years ago, is now a spectral wickerman. (Osier is no longer a one-time drop) Odharnait looks up at you with tear-stained cheeks and red eyes. Odharnait says, "Forgive me if my crying bothered you. It's hard to be anything but sad after what i saw the other day. Such [horrible thing] I've seen lately." Odharnait says, "Have you ever seen the harvest rituals that are performed in some areas around here? Most of them are simple, thanking the earth and the goddess for this year's bounty and ensuring there will be a plentiful harvest next year. But in some places like Shannon Estuary, where I just came from, they have turned to the ancient ways. They have brought back [the wickerman] sacrifice!" Odharnait says, "Oh, it is awful! They take people and put them into a large wicker cage shaped like a man. When everyone is inside, they light it on fire! Oh, those poor souls, trapped in there, sacrificed to next year's harvest. I recently witnessed one of these rituals and I fled here, since it brought back such [sad memories]." Odharnait says, "About 10 years ago, my beloved Osier and I were visiting Shannon Estuary around the time of the harvest. The celebrations got out of hand, and the wickerman was raised. Osier was swept up in the masses and thrown into the wickerman. I watched in horror as he was burned with the others, a sacrifice to the mother earth and the harvest. I fled here to Silvermine Mountains and have stayed here. I haven't [left here] until recently." Odharnait says, "I traveled down to Shannon Estuary to visit Osier's relatives. While i was there, I went for a short walk one night. I couldn't believe my eyes - a spectral presence wandered past me and stopped. It was shaped like a wickerman, and burning, but when it looked at me, its eyes were human. I realized then who it was - my beloved Osier. He lunged at me and I fled in horror, even though I could feel he [needed something] from me." Odharnait says, "I think he recognized me too. I think he wanted me to free him from that ghastly existance he has been forced into. But, I am too full of sorrow and fear to do anything. I need [someone fearless] to help me." Odharnait says, "I think you are brave indeed, Blademaster, to agree to help me with this. My whole way back up here I thought about how Osier could be freed and I think I [have a plan]." Odharnait says, "I think if you were able to douse the flames that consume Osier, it would free him from this world. But ordinary water will not quench those spectral flames and no ordinary container can carry that water. You must make [an enchanted one]." Odharnait says, "After some research, I have found that the bladder of a large red wolfhound, when enchanted, will hold the magical water you require. Seek out these creatures in Lough Gur or Lough Derg. When you have a bladder, take it to Uistean in Connla for more help." [Step #1] Get a wolfhound bladder from a large red wolfhound. These can be found in Lough Derg and Lough Gur. (Found a Large Red Wolfhound close to Ceannai, on the way to Innis Carthaig, before entering the forest, he dropped the bladder when killed - conned blue to me at 23) *Your steps may be different and call for different animal. also used: [Step #2] Go find Uisetan in Connla in Shannon Estuary and give him the bladder. Uisetan says, "Hrmph, you expect me, a noble Lurikeen, to talk to the likes of you? I can't believe a Firbolg like you would even think of trying. If you're in such a desperate need for an enchanter, go see that Firbolg Kiana in Ardee in Connacht. Now, be off!" [Step #3] Go find Kiana in Ardee in Connacht and give her the bladder. Kiana says, "So, Uistean wouldn't help you? He's a terrible snob. I shall enchant it nicely for you. I will also tell you where to get the magical water you will need." You are awarded experience! Kiana casts a spell! You receive a magically sealed bladder from Kiana! Kiana says, "There is your enchanted bladder. Now to fill it and quench the fires that consume Osier, you must seek out the dew sheeries. The best place to find them is Lough Derg, although I have seen some in Lough Gur. When you kill the dew sheerie, the enchanted bladder will draw the water out of the sheerie and into itself. Once it is filled, wait until nightfall then seek out Osier in Shannon Estuary. Give him the bladder and it should quench the flames. Be warned, he will most likely attack you, for he has no knowledge of good any more. He may also call for the other spectral wickermen to help him in this mission. When you have freed him, return to Odharnait." [Step #4] Kill a dew sheerie in Lough Derg or Lough Gur to get its water. (Found a dew sheerie in Lough Derg, close to the Curmudgeon camp east of the Parthanan farm. It was green to me at 23. Dew sheeries have also been seen at loc=46,42Silvermine Mtns.) As the dew sheerie dies, the magical bladder fills with water. [Step #5] Seek out Osier at night in Shannon Estuary. Give him the magically sealed bladder. (Found Osier in Shannon Estuary at loc=11531,52201,4534 - thats south of Connla over the river and over the first hill, four standing stones are there, he only spawns between midnight and morning, be careful as he might call for help when attacked. Don't fight him, just give him the bladder when he attacks you. Osier also seen at loc 5,47 Shannon Estuary.) Osier says, "Free me...please...free me from the flames! Oh they burn! They burn...please..." Osier takes the bladder and breaks it over his head, water pouring down his body. Osier says, "Oh thank you...aahh...I shall be free now...thank you...take this to my sweet Odharnait...please..." You receive Osier's Satchel from Osier! [Step #6] Return to Odharnait in Ardagh in Silvermine Mountains. Odharnait says, "It is good to see you have returned, Aila. I was worried that the task I asked of you was too great. Were you able to free my beloved Osier? I shall need some proof from you." (Hand Odharnait the Osier's Satchel) You are awarded experience! Odharnait says, "Oh, this is his satchel. I made this for him shortly after we first met. Osier had this with him when they took him. I forget what he had inside it at the time. Let me look." Odharnait opens the satchel and looks inside. She reaches in and removes two objects. She slips one of them on her finger. Odharnait says, "This was the ring he was going to give me that night. I shall treasure it always, knowing he was going to ask me to marry him. I had forgotten about this necklace until just now. The silly man was so handsome, but he didn't think it. He bought this 'spectral' necklace, as he called it, to make himself more attractive to me. I'd like you to have it with my gratitude for freeing Osier from that torture. I hope it serves you well." You receive a Osier's Spectral Necklace from Odharnait! lvl 35 received 69,000,000 exp 81 silver lvl 50 received 108,000,000 exp 81 silver Champion Level experience earned: 57 Reward: |

I found Osier at 6155, 47720. (At 6 a.m., so he does hang around a little after dawn, though I may have gotten lucky.) he was the only wickerman in the immediate area. He attacked me but stopped when I gave him the bladder.
at the 5000, 47000 loc!

Essentially same steps, my step 1 was large luch. There are dew sherries in Silvermine at 46,42. Osier was at 5,47 in Shannon Estuary. Exp was 69 MM, coin was 81 silver, and item was:

Hard to find. He is a Wickerman and is in the trees with the Wickermen.
I waited through the night running around the different /locs given here and not found him.
Someone said he was in the middle of the trees.
So next night, Wickerman pop about 22:00 and disappear at 00:00. I started killing Wickerman and saw him pop immedately after killing my second Wickerman. I ran over and got a location
/loc = 5361,47275
Then I clicked on him and gave him the bag. He gave me an item and quest moved to next step.
I waited through the night running around the different /locs given here and not found him.

The spectral wickerman spawn between 0300 and dawn, so you have about 6 minutes each game day cycle to find Osier and give him the bladder. Tricky if you are fighting one or more of them when you spot Osier, he'll disappear at dawn, along with the rest of the wickerman...

Where are these large red wolfhounds that are said to be everywhere in Lough Gur? I have been wandering the area for days and have not seen them at all, not near Innis or the outpost, or even near the forest. Any ideas?

ride the horse from connla to innis carthaig...then hop at ceannai. run to the left through the meadow past the dead trees, then turn right up into the willows...there're large red wolfhounds all over.

Just a follow-up to the loc given for Osier above. I found him w/nw from the four stones, not at the stones themselves, at loc=7038,49366, 5088. This was after looking for two nights at and immediately around the stones...

another quick follow up, camped at the stones from midnight to 2am, no luck. searched this loc, and a large portion of the ridges north and south of the stones, mostly on the north side as purple aggros are scary on the south. right before sun-up, returned to the stones, osier and his pals were just south of them (within sight if not entirely inside the stones)

This quest gave me a different first assignment.
To get a bladder from a Large Luch in Lough Gur, haven't finished it, but just thought I'd throw that out there.

Just a follow up on the large luch, they turned out to be huge rats that can be found in Lough Gur. Cross the bridge from Connla, then follow the path. It winds back and forth and has some ambushers (siabra faction) on the way.
I would follow the path and keep an eye out rather than cutting through the turns, because even more horrific monsters could await. If you have good siabra faction, then you're fine.
You'll come to a small caravan town called Ceannai, continue past the town in the same direction the path led you into the town. Shouldn't need to go far until you see some large luches. The conned mostly yellow with a few blues at level 21.
They're definitely there during the night time, I didn't stay too long to see if they are still there in the day.

Wierd. One of the Filidh's in TnN told me to seek out Odharnait, then she wouldn't talk to me and the Filidh has dropped the quest as well. Very strange. I'm a 20th nightshade on Percival, has anyone else had this problem? Dreadnacht.

i would guess it's because of your class. this is more related to bards i think. could be a reason...

i have this quest
it has changed. Have to ge the bladder of a lough gur or some other thing. in some dam zone i have never been 2. got quest at 18 now 20 just 2 hard for me to find the creature as everything was conning purple in areas befor it. but large red wolf hounds can be found just in forest in east lough derg at top of lake. I killed one in their was yellow conn at 18.

Hi. I did the quest with a druid - I am myself a bard. We got different steps ! (lvl 18-20)
I had to kill a fishing bear north of Ardee for the bladder and didn't have to go kill the wolf. I didnt have to speak to Uisetan or Kiana but had to go straight to the sherries after getting the bladder ! From there its the same - but still a bit weird - seems easier for a bard to do it then a druid :-)
About the lvls ... still think its kinda difficult to get to Osier on ur own !

I cant find uisetan, I keep looking but havent found him. does anyone know where he can be found?

Note that Uistean as specified in the quest, should actually say Ulstein or some other mispelling, so it is nigh on imposible to get the guards to point him out... turns out hes a little Lurikeen standing outside the southernmost connia hut.

that quest is a tad high lvl rated. I am lvl 17 and most of if not all the cretures their con green and at most blue to me. i'd say lvl is / should be lower than that
