DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Brief Walkthrough: 1) Speak with Kaladus at loc=23567,24601 Abandoned Mines. 2) Kill Darkfang vagrants, loc=12831,24657 Abandoned Mines, until you receive a darkfang scalp. 3) Return to Thurmin and hand him the darkfang scalp. 4) Equip the Darkfang Charm from Kaladus, travel to West Track Four and then use the Gnoll Illusion Potion from Kaladus. 5) Speak with Envoy Rastorn at loc=14977,21328 Abandoned Mines while in gnoll form. 6) Retutn to Thurmin, target him and type /whisper mistress and impending attack, to receive your reward. lvl 25 received 7,950,000 experience, 1 gold and the Bracer of Cardras from Kaladus. Dialog from quest: Speak with Kaladus at loc=23567,24601,19199 dir=33 Abandoned Mines. Kaladus says, "Well, what brings someone like you down here? Actually, don't answer that. If you think you are going to come down here and [prove] yourself, that's fine. I have just the thing to test your mettle against." Kaladus says, "Maybe doing this little task for me will prove to you how bad it is down here and temper your lust for adventure. I tell you what, you better pray to whatever god you worship that it doesn't get much [worse] down here. The next thing you know, the evil assaulting my people will be moving above ground." Kaladus says, "How could it get worse, you ask? Let me tell you. When we originally closed these mines, we did it out of fear that those who live in the world of day and night would cause a [plague] to befall us. After all, a few of us fell ill after aboveworlders found their way into the mines and laid their filthy hands on everything." Kaladus says, "I know. No plague has come upon us. It is a gift from Lord Arawn that we are not all sick. Unfortunately, our fears of falling to some form of disease were overpowered by our fear of our brethren and the dead who have turned against Lord Arawn. We were forced to re-open these mines as a matter of [survival]. Now we mine not for materials to build our city but to fortify it." Kaladus says, "The chance for our survival becomes slimmer with each passing day. We have recently discovered that there are a few from above who have been assisting the gnolls. If we are to weather this storm, we need to find out as much information about those assisting them as possible. Will you investigate this matter for me?" Will you help Kaladus find out who is aiding the gnolls? [Level 25] You have been given the The Hidden Leader (Albion) quest. Kaladus says, "Brave, yes; skilled, maybe. Smart, probably not, but you will have to do. First I need you to find the Darkfang gnolls. They can be found in the western portions of the mine. They infest the area around west track four Bring me back the scalp of one of the foul beasts." [Step #1] Head to west track four and retrieve the scalp of a darkfang vagrant. Not every darkfang will give you their scalp. [Step #2] Return to Kaladus with the darkfang scalp. Hand it to him when he asks. Kaladus says, "I certainly hope you have the scalp for me (your name). It would not be good for you if you don't." Kaladus says, "Very good. Now be quiet for a few moments." [Step #2] If Kaladus ignores you, remind him you are [waiting]. Kaladus places a portion of the scalp into a vial and shakes it vigorously. Kaladus says, "Take this potion. It will grant you the form of one of the gnolls. Then infiltrate the Darkfang camp and find those from the above world who are aiding them. See if one of them will talk to you. Come back with whatever information you can find. Oh! One other thing, take this charm. Wear it to mask your scent from the gnolls." You receive the Gnoll Illusion Potion from Kaladus! You receive the Darkfang Charm from Kaladus! [Step #3] Locate the Darkfang encampment off of west track four. Find the aboveworlder who is aiding the gnolls and find out what information you can. /Use the potion to become a gnoll and wear the charm to disguise your scent. [Step #3] Speak with Envoy Rastorn and see what you can find out. Envoy Rastorn says, "What do you want? Can't you see I am a [busy] man?" Envoy Rastorn says, "You are a young whelp aren't you? I am busy working on battle plans. My mistress plans on moving full force against the Inconnu soon, and once they are out of the way, Albion will easily fall. Now be off with ya." [Step #4] Return to Kaladus at the large chasm. Tell him that the envoy mentioned something about a [mistress and impending attack]. Kaladus says, "I certainly hope you didn't return without finding anything out." Type /whisper mistress and impending attack. Kaladus says, "That is interesting indeed. This goes much deeper than the gnolls simply being aided. They are actually being guided by an outside force. I am rather impressed (your name). Hopefully we can put this information to some kind of use. Hand me back that charm, and I will give you payment for a job well done." Kaladus says, "Good. Here is your reward. Don't let this go to your head. You may have done a good job this time, but you have a long way to go before you are any kind of hero." You are awarded 7,950,000 experience! You are awarded 1 gold and some silver! You receive the Bracer of Cardras from Kaladus! You have completed the The Hidden Leader quest! Reward: |
