Confronting Vortimer (Epic 8)

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Must perform epic quests 1-7 for your class before you can be given this quest. Unlike class Epic quests 1-6, this quest, like Epic 7, can be done by all classes. 1) This quest begins with same npc you have begun all epic quests 2-7. After you speak with that npc all classes will be directed to speak with Lady Nimue... 2) Lady Nimue sends you to speak with Laeryn, to get to her travel to Isle of Glass through portal (loc 16114 25663) by Cotswold Village. Speak with Laeryn (loc 41951 21543) east of the town Anniogel (loc 37677 21711), which is directly north of Gothwaite Harbor... 3) Head to the entrance of Stonehenge in Salisbury Plains,do not zone in, /USE Laeryn's Wand to be teleported into an instanced dungeon. You may want to bring friends with you for this quest, as the mobs upon entering this dungeon con blue and aggressive to a lvl 50. 4) Fight your way to Vortimer, when you reach him, kill him and upon his death Vortimer's Amulet will appear in your inventory. 5) Take Vortimer's Amulet back to Lady Nimue and hand it into her for your reward. lvl 50 received 540,376,960 exp and 1 gold Rewards: Apostle of Arawn Belt -- Heretic Blackguard Veteran Belt -- Mercenary Master Elementalist Belt -- Wizard Bishop Belt -- Cleric Greater Chaplain Belt -- Friar Justicator Belt -- Paladin Master Spiritist Belt -- Cabalist Virtuoso Belt -- Minstrel Captain Belt -- Armsman Sentinel Belt -- Scout Combat Engineer Belt -- Theurgist Reanimator Belt -- Necromancer Black Hand Belt -- Infiltrator Guardian of Arawn Belt -- Reaver Iron Fist Belt -- Mauler Enigmatic Belt -- Sorcerer Rewards: |

did this solo with 50 scout...the two named mobs that come at ya when you kill the 3 guard mobs ran right past me and presumably out of the dungeon...and now I cannot kill Vortimer...seems that they need to die to let you attack Vortimer

I did this as a level 50 Cabalist. I tried solo, and wasn't able to do it, but with a fellow 50 friend (bonedancer) was able. Some info - at least in every try I did, vort was in the first "big" room. Only 3 small rooms into the instance. So, the run is short.
However, chain agro thru the walls (between the bone dancer and my pet) made things dicey - until we cleaned that up.
Final room:
3 mobs chained (yellow con) - kill them then
2 Named mobs chained (they agro as soon as the 3rd mob above is dead) (yellow con)
Vort - runs in as soon as the other two are dead. Also yellow con.
Vort likes to cast a few spells, nothing major. In the pair of named mobs, a few special abilities - but again nothing too spectacular.
Biggest thing - conserve mana so you can last the fight - something we didn't realize when we first tried this... but there are ways of dealing with that.
