Sir Amren says, "Attention, soldier! Your realm needs you for an important mission! The druids that inhabit Albion have been up to no good, mapping out the magical ley lines that run beneath the land for some [evil purpose] or other." Sir Amren says, "The druids are pagans, worshipping ancient gods as the Hibernians do. They seek to overthrow our King and return the realm to their old way of life. We cannot allow that to happen, so we must take [defensive measures] to stop them." Will you help the realm take defensive measures against the Druids? [Level 15] You have been given the Defensive Measures (Epic 3) quest. Sir Amren says, "Excellent. You will take these orders to General Vaul, who is stationed at the guard tower just east of the entrance to Tepok's Mine in the Black Mountains South area. Go now, and do not tarry!" You receive Amren's Orders from Sir Amren! [Step #1] Deliver Sir Amren's orders to General Vaul. He can be found atop the guard tower near Tepok's Mine, in the Black Mountains South. General Vaul says, "Welcome to Caer Vaul, Armswoman. How do you like my towering fortress? Is it not imposing? Sir Amren seems to think this tower is a worthy base of operations for the only Half-ogre General in the Defenders of Albion. Do you find it strange that no other Generals in our realm must endure such meager [accommodations]?" General Vaul says, "Welcome to Caer Vaul, Armswoman. How do you like my towering fortress? Is it not imposing? Sir Amren seems to think this tower is a worthy base of operations for the only Half-ogre General in the Defenders of Albion. Do you find it strange that no other Generals in our realm must endure such meager [accommodations]?" General Vaul says, "There are rumors that my elevation to the rank of General was simply a political ploy to secure the trust of my people, whom Albion so desperately needs to aid against her many enemies. I am known in some circles as the 'puppet General'. Yet I am not [insulted]." General Vaul says, "You see, Sir Amren thinks I will not amount to much, but I have a surprise in store for him. At any rate, what business brings you here? Do you have something for me? New orders, perhaps?" [Step #2] Give Amren's Orders to General Vaul. You can find him in the Black Mountains South, atop a guard tower just east of Tepok's Mine. General Vaul says, "Ah, new orders it is, from Sir Amren himself. Let's see [what they say], shall we?" General Vaul says, "The Druids are attempting to map the ley lines of Albion. Hm, this is interesting. It seems someone else has already mapped many of these lines, a long time ago. There was an old Wizard who once lived very near to here, in a house outside of what is now [Tepok's mine]." General Vaul says, "The historians say this Wizard used to venture into the mines to chart the ley lines that run under the ground. When the Goblins moved into that area, they took over the mine, then burned this Wizard's house to the ground. All that stands now is a [ruin]." General Vaul says, "Apparently, there is an old wooden chest that still survives there. The Goblins have no interest in it because it is filled with nothing but old papers. If the Wizard's ley line map is in the chest, we must get to it before the Druids. This is your [mission]." General Vaul says, "Travel west and search the ruined house near the entrance to Tepok's Mine. Look for a chest, and search through it for a ley line map. Bring a friend or two along, for that area is swarming with Goblins and other creatures. Return to me when you have the map." [Step #3] From General Vaul's guard tower, travel west. In the ruined house just outside the entrance Tepok's Mine is a chest. Search the chest. To do so, right-click on the chest. You select the Wooden Chest. You rummage through the chest and find a map with ley lines drawn upon it. Your quest journal has been updated. You receive the Ley Line Map from the Wooden Chest! [Step #4] Deliver the ley line map you obtained to General Vaul. He is in the guard tower just east of Tepok's Mine, in the Black Mountains South. General Vaul says, "Ah, you found the ley line map, good. I'll take that, thank you. I'll dispatch a runner to inform Sir Amren of your success. You should report back to him now; no doubt, he will have some money to give you, or some other trinket. It amuses me to see that Sir Amren controls his soldiers with material wealth as easily as he pacifies my people with token promotions." [Step #5] Return to Sir Amren in Camelot to obtain your reward. Sir Amren says, "Ah, good, you have returned. Do you have the [ley line map] with you?" Sir Amren says, "General Vaul kept it? Hm, that's irregular, but very well. I'll have to talk to him about it later. I don't know why he thinks it would be [safer there] than here." Sir Amren says, "In any case, you completed your mission. You will come to find that I do not hesitate to reward loyalty. Take this coin, and know that it is well-earned! I also have [another item] that I think you will like." You are awarded 8 silver and some copper! You are awarded 409,600 experience! Sir Amren says, "The spells bound within this bracer will make you strong, Armswoman. Be sure to put that strength to work for the realm!" You receive the Infantry Bracer from Sir Amren! You have completed the Defensive Measures (Epic 3) quest!
