i have never gotten tea leaves done this on like a dozen toons
i really am curious as to what you get for them
quest can be completed with out them tho
i grouped my 50 toon with the quest and a 25 with the quest neither got tea leaves

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Speak with Gormghlaith, located to the south of the entrance to Howth, she is making tea, and needs a few ingredients. The first thing you'll need to obtain for her is two river beetle drone carapaces. They can be found on the shore immediately south of Ardaugh at Silvermine 34k 17k . Return these to her and she will require you to tell one of the sentinels outside of Howth to do their [job]. Tell this to Sentinel Beacan, to the left of the Howth gate. He requires you to tell Chief Proinnsias about the [spraggons]. He is located in the central building in Howth. He will require you to go to the "spraggon den", to kill three spraggonolls. (Not the dungeon by the same name, but you will pass right by it. The direction you get in the quest journel are accurate enough to follow.) Return with the three Spraggonoll heads, and give them to the Chief. (Note: this section of the quest may tell you to head east across the water(from Howth) and kill spraggoncles but they are not there, they are actually west of Ardagh, between 11785, 8819, 6667 and 13400 8800) He then speak of a "barn" which is little more then a broken down house with no roof, right back where you just came from. Go there and kill the Boss, as Spraggonoll, named, well, Boss. Aprox loc=49130, 51850 in Silvermine Mts. (He was blue at 12th level). After the Boss is dead, each person involved in the quest should enter and walk around inside the building until they collect four Blackthorn Leaves. These are required by Gormghlaith. Return the Boss corpse to the Chief, and he will direct you to give the leaves to Gormghlaith. Return to her and give her the leaves. When you have no more to offer her, simply respond with [that's all there was]. The reward, beside a fair amount of silver, is your choice of one of four items. Cheif P will send you across the river just east of the Lean-to's to get the Sprag's. He'll then send you BACK there for boss. 49848,52357,5220
No tea leaves dropped for me. I stayed around the area hunting a few sprags, but still found nothing. So finally I returned to Chief P. Chief accepted the corpse then said "it's a shame you couldn't find any tea leaves." He then offered me my reward.

For the first step she now asks you to get river beetle drone carapaces. You do not need river beetle drones--just river beetles. They can be found on the shore immediately south of Ardaugh at Silvermine 34k 17k

All sentinal Beacan says to me is "Today is a nice day, isn't it?" or something like that?

you can pick up the spragonoll heads across the water from howth, where you can also find hazard, the enchanted luridicane (sp?), large eirbugs, and sheevera anything. saves much time =)
you do need to go to the exact location for boss tho. if you're having trouble finding him: pass the spragg den (leaving from howth) and keep going along the bottom of the valley until it opens up onto a field. turn left (toward the zone edge) and go uphill. you should see a destroyed house in some trees. boss is there, along with many types of spraggs (including spraggonolls)

If you have accidentally sold the other beetle carpace can you find a new one?

Umm... you can't sell the carapaces. If you can, that means you don't have the right one. I had gotten this quest and I had forgot about it. I went to sell the carapaces and couldn't, so I destroyed them... I have no way of finishing this quest because any other carapace I get can be sold, and she won't accept ones that can be sold. :(

I followed the directions and ended up in Ardagh neer once seeing a spraggonoll only spraggons and spraggonites wild crotch and rowdys and hill toads

They if you go right over the hill behind Howth then head to your right down the valley they will be past the dungeon entrance up to your left on the hill thats where i found em.

I recommend getting to the point where you must gather heads, and then doing the Spinner Quest at the same time. Banba needs four Sprag Cloaks, the Chief needs three Sprag Heads, so the two quests advanced at the same time.
It's not often this sort of crossover occurs, so take advantage of it when it does.
