I think this quest is given to Elves only. I had a Lurikeen and didn't recieve it

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Talk to the Magic trainer in Mag Mell. She gives the reason why there is so many skeletons to the NW of the town. It seems that the Stone obelisk is corrupted by a [summoner] (lvl 4) who keeps pulling the dead out of there graves. She want you to kill him and collect the power that drops. Then you have to give the power to the Eldritch trainer, Aodh, in Tir na Nog and he gives experience and a magical ring. Reward: |

IMHO he spawns only at night but i could be wrong with that, i got this quest at lv 4 and only was able to kill him when i reached LV 5 after choosing my path. His summoned pets and nearly all other skelletons disappeared on killing him (only to respawn some minutes later without aggro to me). But i'm on the EU server with version 1.48 so it could be all wrong. ;)

Mag Mell is not in Connacht either. The Connacht border gets hit running from Mag Mell to Ardee. Lough Derg is the correct starting zone for this quest.

I don't understand...i'm lvl 4 magician lurikeen, and when i talk to the mag mell magician trainer he gives me the moon stones quest so i do it to have the next so the corrupted obelisk but not !!!

Dosn't he give you the quest that says go to the menhir stone and banish the summoner? Well... if he dosen't then I can't help you sorry :(
The quest is given by the mag mel mage trainer at lvl 4 only. the oblisk is behind the town next to the lake in a small wooded area. The ring you get is the ring of staves, a 3int ring

Im lvl 8 Enchantress and I cant have that quest from trainer..maybe Im too big ;(?

Anyone else notice that it lists the starting zone as Avalon Marsh, which is in Albion!

Did this quest at 5 with my chanter summoner was green took him down easy but watch you don't get to close to the summoned pets they will attack you. Ring gave +3int and something else, mana i think

For some strange reason, I can't get the quest from the mage trainer in Mag Mell (I'm lvl 4 Celt Mage). Just wanted to see if this was a known problem. I've already found and killed the summoner earlier with a group; might have had an effect, but I doubt it.

in regards to the "summoner is where?" post, if you go to the town center of mag mell, turn out by the stablemaster, continue in that same direction past the stalker trainer, you will see the riverbed to your right and a hill in front of you. the hill contains too many auto-aggroe's to go over safely, so follow along the riverbed to the right. eventually you will get down to the trees along the water... from there, the black obelisk he spawns from is painfully obvious. Hope this helps!

He spawns from the tall black obelisk in the wooded area southeast of Mag Mell. Although he is blue to me at level 4, he packs a couple NASTY DoTs that take you down quick. Bring a friend to be safe (a good healer ;-) ) maybe two to take him down quick. Solo, I died twice, with one friend (bard) to help, he was easy.

The Summoner Pops in the Wooded area near the water behind Mage mell. He stays near a tree and does not seem to move.

The summoner spawns at the obelisk that has tons of skeletons around it. It is located east of the town, towards the river.
The summoner casts a DoT, and when you kill him, he summons a bunch of skeletons that jump you right away. Even if they kill you, though, you'll still get the drop from the summoner.

I went searching all over the place for this mob. I'm guessing, from the way that this quest reads, the summoner is located between Mag Mell and Tir Na Nog. If anyone could verify this, I'd greatly appreciate it. If not, I'd really like to know where the summoner is; I want to get rid of that quest from my Journal.

The stats on the ring is +3 hits, +2 Int

It also adds to your Power, though there is no numerical ammount given.

Actually the power is a result from the increase in Int., not from something on the ring itself.
