I forget who I got this quest from, but it involves quite a few folks. I believe I picked it up in Connla. It also involves NPCs by the Parth farm, (near DL) and a trip into the Cliffs of Moher to kill Tidal Sheeries, cliff spearmen, and back to get an amadan touched. AFter that, you have to wait until nighttime to kill Amadan Dubh himself.
I'll post quest rewards when I get it.

A named Amadan Touched, that spawns in the valley off to the side of the road leading to Drium Ligen, with all the Pookhas and Alp Luachra. A little more info: Quest is Level 40 from Harder Cadwr in Connla. Amadan Dubh is a robed elf (not a ghoul) that spawned just before dawn, amongst the amadan touched near Druim Ligen. Amadan Dubh conned yellow to me at 45, and the amadan touched were green/grey.
Final step is back in Connla with original PC, I got a level 40 bracer: 2 Parry, 4 Power, 7 Empathy, 3 Constitution

Ok I just dinged 40 this morning and I always run by where Amadan's spawn well today I see something I have never seen before "Amadan" he looks like a goul, not the guy that's always in a robe. I think he is Dmadan Dubh. So he con's orange to me at lv 40 I'm buffed to max and I'm a fully spec Nature druid. I send in pet, dot, dot again then move in and finish him off. Black gloves of Death dropped and quite nice, even though these gloves con yellow the stats make them worth keeping for a bit. Btw not sure if this helps spawn him or not but I did kill "Touched" immediatly prior to seeing "Amadan" Good luck.
Same for me, he immediately spawned after I killed "Touched". Both, Touched and Amadan conned yellow to 39.
This is no longer a OTD. It's a fairly long quest that supposedly starts in Connla now. Haven't made the trip myself to confirm this.
I killed Amadan several times, and over a long peroid of time. (And not Touched, btw) I wanted gloves as I am a piercing Heroine. He never dropped them. Are you sure heros can get these?

A friend champ have tried this lvl 38& 39. he got the otd only at 40.

actually i just stumbled across Amadan, same place as he used to be, it was sometime between 10:00 and 2:00. So I guess he is just a rarer spawn now that Amadan Dubh is in the area.

Ok, here's the latest as of 10/1/02. Essentially, the drop is just as people have stated, but you have to read carefully. There is a named MOB, "Amadan", not "Touched", not "Amadan Dubh". He spawns in the same valley with "Touched", "Amadan Dubh", the pookhas, amadan touched and alp luachra.
I have not figured out what "Touched" is for.
"Amadan Dubh" is for another quest.
"Amadan" (who looks just like "Touched") drops the Gloves. I had never seen him before so I can't say what level he starts dropping the gloves at, but I'm a 38th level Champion, and I got the gloves. BTW, he conned orange to me, but I was able to solo him without much trouble.

I killed him several times with my Heroine and he never dropped the gloves. I especially wanted them as I am a piercer. But he never dropped them. Are you sure Heros will get these?

Just wondering if anyone has done this recently...I was part of a group last night that spent a fair amount of time slaughtering everything that moves in that valley, and we never saw anything named "Amadan". We ran across a named amadan, "Touched" and killed him, no drop to a group of assorted classes (including scale wearers) from 37 to 39.
We also ran across "Amadan Dubh" and killed him a couple of times, but I believe he's for a different quest?
Anyhow, are we in the right place? Has this quest been changed? Do you have to be 40 as one of the posts indicates?

I think the quest must have changed. I tried doing this at 36 and killed Amadan four times (but didn't get the gloves because I was too young).
Anyway Amadan used to spawn right where Amadan Dubh is now, and sometimes down by Dorbal and Touched, and roam the area in between. Took little effort to find him, so I think either the spawn time or the quest itself has changed.
