See the named Treant, Paud (loc appx 34, 25 in Vigilant Rock). He will tell you that the treants have come under attack by the twisted barkstrippers (loc=34.7,34.8) and if you should see/kill any, return the Treant Wood to him to distribute to the wounded and elders. You need to have friendly faction in order for Paud to give you the kill task.

My faction with the Treants was neutral at first.. Regan gave me the Black Sworling Orb kill task... but even with the same faction with Paud, he wouldn't give me the Treant Wood task.. It was only until my faction was "friendly", Paud gave me the task.
