DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Per Read File Jan. 23, 2003: And just a friendly reminder - the quest "Catla's Downfall" has prerequisite quests that have to be done before you can start it. So if you go to the starter NPC and get no keyword, you need to discover and complete the prereq's. However someone sent in that they didn't have to do either and still got the quest. I have heard a rumor that Medana will react differently to you depending on what quests you have done. Juuso's Potion and Kylikki's Scrolls are said to be pre-req's but Juuso's Potion has been determined to not be. Now someone says opposite, take it for what you will. Be safe and do them both, heh. "A woman named Medana has come to Aegir's Landing to help stop Catla Gardasdottir's mad plans. Anyone that is level 49 or 50 should speak to Medana in Dyrfjell if they wish to help." Basically you talk to Medana, spend some time in Iarnvidiur's Lair killing. Location of the dungeon is 28k, 39k in Iarnwood Forest. There is a large population of hatchling snakes found throughout the lair, and that they are extremely aggressive, and will bring friends. Step 4 You have to find Redcap in Iarnvidiur's Lair There is no map of this dungeon atm, but go on north all the way and turn West at T. At loc 20k,19.4k, you gonna find some (con orange to level 50). Your reward is 2 out of 11 bracers. You cannot chose two of the same, and they are no drop/no trade/no sell. The info is still sketchy so send me some to update with! As for the exit: As you enter the dungeon, and peer over the edge of the drop off into the lair itself, there is a red tendril that runs from the cliff to the floor of the lair below, ending in the pool of water that you see as you look over the edge. This 'tendril' is actually a ladder. We discovered this after we jumped down into the water, and then examined the tendril. We lost no hit points with the jump, thankfully. Exp awarded at level 49 was 2.9 billion - looked to me like one full bubble of exp. Yow! _______________________________________________________ Another look at the quest, sent in by Weezen Weatherwax - Gaheris: I was able to receive this quest without doing any of the prerequisite quests. I received it from Medena in Dryfel. I then needed to travel to Aegirhamn to talk to Catla Gardasdottir. Step 2: You receive a note from Catla. When you read it, you receive instructions to Iarnvidiur's Lair and what you need to kill. According to instructions in the note you receive from Catla, "you will need a large spore from a cadby, the hair of a redcap davin, and the saliva of a kolvarg. All of these creatures can be found in Iarnvidiur's Lair." Step 4: Obtain some hairs from the head of a redcap davin in Iarnvidiur's Lair. Step 5: Go to Juuso in Dyrfjell in Aegir's Landing. You need to give the three items to Jusso Step 9: Seek out Catla's spirit. As you exit Dyrfjell, follow the town's wall until you see three large boulders. She will be on top of the western most one. You give her the potion you received from Juuso and in return you receive Catla's Spirit Stone. Step 10: Go to Medana in Dyrfjell. You need to give her the stone and then you receive your choice of bracers. Approach the entrance straight on, there are big nasty mobs either side and to the south of it hiding in the trees,
Once inside use the vine to get down to the pool as the other guy said. The shrooms are timid and run away from you so they are ok and i got no BAF when duo playing shaman/warrior.
With your back to the vine/pool take the right hand tunnel and follow it without turning off...that way youll get right to the redcap guy you need. Then as you turn around and head back take a quick detour up the first right hand tunnel and youll find some kolvarg (looks like a two headed wolf and is the tuffest of the three you need to kill id say)
On the way to the redcaps there are lots of snakes. Yellow to 50 and with a Dot shout thats quite nasty (it can be cured with cure poison though)
While in there looking for the mobs i got 2 studded tunics, a ring and two bows. The redcaps drop weapons and coin. Nothing of the wolf mobs but i might not have been there long enough. GL all

I finished this quest and have not done Juuso's or Kylikki's quests. But I have done a few in the main Midgard (non-SI) zones. Maybe that counted as the prereq instead. Copious Spiders, Hunting Party...and more I think.

We had a group doing this quest, one couldnt get the quest because he had Juuso's Potion quest unfinished. When we finished that quest for him, he was able to get Catla's ... Others in our group hadn't done Juuso's Potion quest, so my guess is that you just can't have an unfinished "Juuso's Potion" quest..

I grabbed a group an killed a shroom, dog and a redcap. All quest items went strait into my inv.

This quest is not repeatable.

The only prerequisite for this quest (apart from adequate level) is that if Juuso's or Kylikki's quests are partially complete you must finish them.
