Darksong's Dirge

DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different Characters that were created after Patch Version 1.79 do not receive this Epic quest. Your trainer (Per or Dane) tells you that Darksong and her new husband were traveling when they were set upon and killed. Now her ghost roams the land looking for peace and he asks that you kill her to let her rest. Bring proof of the death to Lilib and you may keep her ring. Darksong is a ghost that I found on the edge of the snowfield by Dvalin. If you take the road from Dvalin toward the nearby guard tower, you'll find Darksong to the left of the road just before you get to the tower. Darksong is alive from about 11pm to 5am each day, in the location near 10946, 49575. She was blue to me at 11 and I was able to solo her when fully buffed and carrying a good hammer. She dropped a lock of hair. I gave the lock of hair to Lilib who is in the tower by Dvalin, loc 15325, 52775. I was given a ring and instructions to return to the trainer with the story of her being put to rest. On speaking to the trainer I was given experience and told to keep the Pious Ring. Reward: |

In the snow covered part between Dvalin and the fort on the left hand side. There are four spawns, one of them becomes her. Clear them out before 8:30 pm (/ti) or 20h 30m and she should spawn. Got her twice trying to get her to drop the pants or sleeves - nada. 22h now... wonder if she'll appear again =)
Edit: YEY! Got the pants on the third try!
Her direct loc is 11000, 49000
Problem is that she only spawns about three times before daylight comes around...

As I see from most of your questions, it seems none of you read "ALL" what your are being told to do the quest.
HINT: to remember what you have been told, write it down so you can check back when getting lost, as the journal dont tell all you want to know.

I was given the quest at 13, but Dane didn't give me -any- information, other than I was supposed to get a ring from Darksong, take the hair to Lilib, and keep thr ring. If it hadn't written been here, it would have just sat in my journal forever, unless I had just happened by Dvalin at night and seen her. Anyone else had that problem?

Aye, Quest Information is broken on it because it gives you the quest right off without you being able to click dialog--- I reported it to Mythic to see if they do anything :P

Yes, I was in the same situation you were. I too was going to forget about it until I found the instructions here. Oh well, I'm off to complete this lv. 11+ quest and I just hit lv. 19. =P

ok, so I finally found Darksong. If you take the road from Dvalin toward the nearby guard tower, you'll find Darksong to the left of the road just before you get to the tower (at least thats where I saw her).
Unfortunately, I saw her, and began buffing. Before I finished buffing, she just dissapeared. I checked and the time was 5am. So, she goes away at 5am. Get her before then. Now I've gotta wait till the next night. Not sure when she pops, but its at night.

just wanted to add some more detail to the above post. as it turns out, Darksong is alive from about 7pm to 5am each day, in the location referred to above (I found her near 10946, 49575).

gotta love the precision here. someone says Darksong is just up the road from Dvalin.... is that heading toward the tower, or back toward Ft. Atla. How far off the road is she?? etc, etc...

Killed Darksong and got the ring and thought I was done with the quest. However my journal says go tell Dane what you have done. Anyone know where Dane is?

I found Darksong next to the road just up from Dvalin, at the guard tower. Which is nice because the next npc in the quest is in the guard tower. She was blue to a lvl 11 Shaman, She does cast mezz, easily took her by casting dot then was mezzed instantly. Was able to finish her off with melee and help of dot.

"Dane" gives this quest for shamans, "Per" for healers. Mind you that Darksong only roams the night, as do most Dirges...

This is the level 11 Healer/Shaman Quest and is given in the Shaman and Healers Training halls. Its is class only and and adds +3 piety nice ring.

Uh, Outsiders was simply pointing out that spelling "peace" as "piece" in that particular instance actually makes for a pretty funny joke, which obviously sailed over your head.
Also, if today is opposite day, and you SAY today is opposite day, wouldn't that create a paradox?

You are the one who isn't an idiot on opposite day - Outsiders is correct: it should be "peace" and not "piece", and he didn't insult anyone. He is helping to improve the content of this website by informing the webmaster of a spelling error in the desciption of the quest - perfectly acceptable.

Darksong is fairly easy to solo at that lv. I also completed this quest although I was lv 13 shaman. Believe I got this quest in jord, not sure who gave it tho, sorry. Also Darksong spawns at night, looks like the ghost dirg that roam the area so con them all.
