These can be found NW of Askheim. Simply go to the NW side of Askheim, go NW into the water...not far, mind you. At about 11800, 39500 they will jump you. Conned two of them, blue and yellow at 21. The poison did 7 dmg to me when standing up.

You need to kill one of these to repair faction with the spidermen, along with a fire rose from Muspelheim. Look up the quest in Naliten<sp>. guy under the boat gives it out.
They are suppose to be hard...sorry about the kill tasks though.

Well I have to say this is the single most screwed up irritating mob I seen yet in the game. The first poster is correct in that you can't the the monsters because the water is completely opaque, and they're so small the names don't appear above the water either, just the very tips of a few of the taller letters. I've just finished dying 3 times to them on three kill tasks; this is taking me backwards in xp, and it's all he seems to want to give me. Whatever company genius map designer that dumped these in the middle of the completely opaque lake (I had to go quite a ways out, there was no 'wade a little offshore and target,' hence no escape as you can't outswim them even at sprint in the water) needs to implement a complete tactile VR interface for the game and get dumped in that camp of them, then res-killed repeatedly.. >:-(

These things are a pain. 2 bubs shy of 20 and the task master keeps sending me after these death spiders. Anyway I combed the coasts and the spider areas...nada. In frustration I swim out to the middle of the lake North of Askheim and get swarmed by yellow and orange death spiders. They are practically in the middle, but you can't see em even when you fight em, just the very tip of the letters at the waterline. You have to go fishing. Wade off the coast a bit, hit F8 to target, wade, target, etc. Fortunately, I'm a Thane so I cast a bolt and I know what direction to face. Try to drag them closer to the coast if you can so no wanderers happen by cause you'll never know till it's too late. They do a "Major Poison" which did 2-5pts per tick. Not very major, I just sat down till it was over. Not sure if they are in the lake South of Askheim.

I've been playing in Myrkwood for the past 2 weeks and I've never seen a Death Spider before. I check all along the water around Askheim, and various other places, but couldn't find them. Does anyone have better directions?
